The hotel was easy to get to via the Number 1 bus from the airport which stops at the train station. The hotel foyer is large and comfortable. The room was a little on the small side but had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast had a wide choice of items on offer. If we were travelling to Bergamo again I would stay at the Excelsior San Marco Hotel.

We were on 7th floor with the roof terrace above and every evening approx 11pm there was very noisy furniture being moved/drawers slamming. The walls in the room have no sound proofing and our neighbours were extremely loud. Suffice to say not much sleeping was enjoyed due to the noise.

Great breakfast. Nice balcony with view over Cittá alta. Staff very friendly and serviceminded. Good location.

We have gone to Bergamo for a break on several occasions but this was the first stay at the Excelsior San Marco. Would not hesitate to stay again as room, staff and breakfast were all first class.

We were lucky enough to get the renovated rooms at the San Marco. The room is modern and comfortable. We had a great view of the Citta Alta as well which was a nice perk. Make sure you the renovated rooms when you stay here as the difference between these and the older original rooms is night and day.

This was our first visit to Bergamo but it won’t be our last. The hotel is a five minute walk to the funicular for the old city which is stunning. We were fortunate with the weather but the views from Rocca (off the tourist route a bit) are wonderful. Hotel breakfast first class, excellent, helpful staff and clean facilities. We loved it.

Not a 4 star hotel. And NOT Adult Only, as advertised on British booking sites. The hotel is currently under refurbishment and we requested a twin room, we were in an older room which was very dated but preference was twin room over a newer room with a double so we were fine with this. When we arrived to our room, the chair fabric was torn and there was an iron burn mark on the carpet. There was an adjoining door and we could hear the people next door arguing and going to the toilet. At breakfast we realised it was indeed family friendly. One of us were bitten by a suspected poisonous spider in bed, three bites which resulted in a trip to the pharmacy, some antibiotic cream, and a second trip to the GP for more medication when we got home. Hotel staff apologised but because we were leaving the same day they weren't too concerned. Said they would fumigate for the next person. Reception staff friendly enough, bar staff super kind & the breakfast was good, although not as peaceful as we’d have liked! Good location to walk to / get the feniculore to the Citta Alta but a 15/20min walk from the atmosphere of the Citta Bassa. View from the room made the trip, despite us being the only balcony on the 7th floor without chairs to enjoy it.

Perfect stay. They even provided an upgrade for a renovated room, which was really comfortable, technological, and cozy. Really close to Città Alta.

It’s in a good location. 15 minute walk from train station. Close to a lot of good restaurants. Staff are great. Breakfast was included. Room air conditioning could have been colder/better.

Good hotel, excellent location - central, but not on the super loud road. Could do with more toiletries and better hair dryer in the hot weather. Would appreciate a bit of control from staff over tables at breakfast, as for bigger groups there isn't always enough big tables- they are taken by 2 people. Breakfast itself is fine. Parking small, but they take your car to garage and drive it back whenever you need, so no issues.

Beautiful hotel, great location. My only complaint is the price of parking which cost me 60 euros for two nights. Far too much, and the most expensive I have ever paid.

We spent one night at this hotel at the end of our holiday that took us to a couple of places throughout Northern Italy. Nice hotel, convenient location for exploring both Bergamo old town and new town. The room's aesthetic was maybe a bit dated, but was well maintained. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and the air conditioning worked well. Bus to airport stops not far from the hotel, and about a 15 minute walk to the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a decent selection Would certainly stay here again if we return to Bergamo.

Fantastic location, elegant hotel with friendly helpfull staff. Was supposedly up graded to "business" room however the bright modern light pannels (3 of them) and incessantly intense blinking smoke detector lights made it difficult to sleep. Fortunately I was offered another room in older part of hotel which in my opinion was much much nicer, where I had a lovely sleep the next few nights.

The front desk staff were charming and efficient. Love my cute little room. Gorgeous bathroom, excellent hairdryer!!! The location is perfect, close to the train station and 30min walk to duomo. I walk fast so maybe a bit longer for some. Quick little convenience store across from the hotel for munchies and drinks. Excellent restaurant right beside the hotel.

Great hotel. Nice breakfast, great location next to Città Alta, superfriendly staff. Only negative was the noise from renovation, often started in the morning which woke us up.

Nice hotel but the rooms are a little dated. The restaurant is ok, won’t let you go for drinks only even as a resident. Has a lovely view of Bergamo from their restaurant but you need to have a meal and deal with the pretentiousness.
