Palazzo Alexander has an excellent location for easy access to Lucca`s sights, and provides a comfortable, nicely elegant setting to its customers. The staff is welcoming, helpful and very friendly. Our room had plenty of light and space. We will be pleased to return.

Fantastic staff. Lovely breakfast available at good hours. The air-con unit in our room was quite loud but incredible! Great shower. Really comfortable bed and pillows. Located just inside the walls of Lucca, but away from the busy areas so really quiet. Short walk away is a drinking fountain where we topped up our water bottles each day. Worth noting that you can hear everything those in the rooms around (next to/above) are doing (showering, hairdryer, going to the toilet....) so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs! After we checked in during the early evening, we rested for a while before going out for dinner. When we returned the front door was locked and the lights at reception were off. A member of staff then came over and let us in. Turns out we were meant to leave our key at reception when going out but we had no idea! So they thought everyone was in bed as no missing keys... Never had to do this before (but then again can't remember the last time I had an actual room key and not card) and we weren't told when we checked in or when we went out (although the person on reception when we went out was busy so perhaps they would have mentioned it if they saw us leave). No curfew, they just lock the front door and turn off the lights if everyone is in bed but there is a night porter around if you need help/want to go out. So make sure you leave your key at reception!

Perhaps one of the best decisions my wife and I made on our trip was staying at Palazzo Alexander. A family owned and operated hotel whose staff was friendly, accommodating, helpful, and kind. We wish we had booked a longer stay, and it is located in a very charming part of the old town of Lucca, very walkable to many restaurants, shopping, and attractions. Will for sure stay here again.

Great stay during the Lucca summer festival. My friend and I loved our "family room" - two connecting rooms, both with its own bathroom. The staff were very nice.

The staff are delightful-efficient, welcoming and focused on each guest. It is located close to the city wall and is an easy walk everywhere Attractive room with views over terracotta tiles to distant hills Parking was $25 per night for a compact car - arranged in advance. Hotel staff parked for us Thoroughly recommended

we loved the breakfast. And the beds were soft and comfy. It was an old building but very charming. The staff was very helpful. The bathroom has some deferred maintenance. The showerhead does not stay in place. And the sink stopper doesn’t work. but overall, we had a very pleasant day and we got to see Eric Clapton who was in town.

Wonderful family run hotel which offers the perfect location for visiting all the sites of Lucca. Greeted by the owner with a lovely warm welcome and a beautiful room. Delicious cooked breakfast in an atmosphere of opulence whilst maintaining such a homely feeling. It was truly a fantastic place to stay.

Hotel staff went out of their way to coordinate taxi service with multiple stops.

Beautiful stay. The service here was as lovely as anything I’ve had at any 5 star hotel. It is old, but if you appreciate that, this is a wonderful place. The breakfast was lovely as well.

The staff at the Hotel Alexander were wonderful. We were there over Easter and the family run place was alight with Holiday goodies! It generated such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend a stay here, as it doesn't disappoint.
