We were a little confused when we arrived as there was no one at the desk and the doors were closed as it was Sunday, but with a quick phone call, the hotel manager guided us inside by giving the codes, and helped us to our keys of the apartment.
It wasn't the most atmospheric building or neighbourhood, but the apartment was comfortable and so were the bed and the bath. I really liked the bathroom, the kitchen and the large windows. The only downside is that we couldn't get the internet to work.

Hotel reception was very friendly. Room was large with kitchenette and the basics. Not luxurious but comfortable. We did not leave the room except to get groceries and hit the bakery nearby as we were feeling under the weather. We were quite comfortable in the room and had all the basics we needed for this one day/night stay. Few restaurant options around, but a couple of grocery stores and an average bakery. Fairly close to public transport to get to the centre if required, but not sure how long it takes as we did not use it. The room was quite loud as the walls were fairly thin. In the middle of a residential area. Free parking if you could find it, or there was a decent price for garage parking if required a couple of blocks away. This hotel was great value for money.

Nice, clean, convenient and a home from home.
Good communication by email for entry and key location. The local area is pleasant and there is a good sized childrens play park just opposite. Parking is restrictive for many car users, but was ok for us (we got the last one available, just outside the front door).
The only problem was working out how to use the kitchen hob. The control numbers had been scrubbed clean off and so working out what heat setting to use was trial and error. Recommended for anyone needing a self catering place to stay for up to 5 people.

We had a two bedroom apartment, with 3 twin beds in one room, a master bedroom, and a roll away bed. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking in with two burners, microwave and refrigerator, and the apartment was very clean and appeared freshly painted. The kitchen table had room for six. The front desk staff leave at 6pm and are not there on Sundays, so don't expect a full service hotel. There is a play area for children by the front of the hotel and a supermarket within a few minutes walk. It was quiet at night even on Friday and Saturday. Overall, a great place to stay for our family of six and a good value compared to two rooms in a more traditional hotel.

Having stayed in various apart-hotels in France I was pleasantly surprised with this place. This is my second visit herer and I found the rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. The rooms were in a very good condition and really had everything you need. The location is not central but you can hop on the tram and be in the center in about 10 mins. Highly recommended given the limited options in St Etienne.

While this hotel/apartment has potential to be a very nice place, we found it to be lacking in many ways. The 'spacious' bedroom only had a bed in it, nothing else, not a chair, chest of drawers or even a hook on the back of the door. The 'second' double bed was a pull out in the living room. The bathroom was very basic with towels provided but towels were changed only once a week. Bring your own tp as a limited amount was provided. This apartment also had a lingering sewer-like smell which did dissipate upon opening the windows. Parking can also be a problem but this appears to be a problem city wide.

The hotel is located in the south side of St Etienne and close to mass transit and the main mall of the city. Generally good location but few "large" restaurants around, however, there were many markets and small grocery stores nearby.
The rooms themselves were pretty sparse, but nice and clean. New floors, hardware, paint and linens. The rooms also included a balcony and a very tiny TV (FYI - all 5 channels in French). This hotel/apartment is clearly geared for longer stays as it includes a kitchenette, microwave and small refrigerator and did include wireless internet. The hotel was undergoing renovations and at moments had some unpleasant odors in the hallways, but overall not too bad. The breakfast was limited but decent.
Given that no other hotels were generally available when I booked it, this hotel was good for the price and the comments mentioned above.
LARGE NOTE: The office hours (currently) are 9 am - 12 pm and 2 pm - 7 pm, so if you checking in at some other time call ahead!
