The drive way entrance from the hwy is hard to see at night, so there is no lighted sign. There is a small sign there but it still hard to notice it from a distant. Maybe a light pole by the driveway would be helpful.

Showed up with a reservation at 4pm or so. Check in was at 3pm. After listening to guests in front of me complaining that they were given a dirty room with used sheets still on the bed. My time came to check in. I got my room, 2nd floor. Sir, by the way the elevator doesn’t work. Take the stairs and walk straight to my room which is open, trash on the floor, dirty sheets, just gross. So i went back down and actually asked to cancel my reservation. The lady was nice but she made every excuse in the world. Finally taking me to a room that was clean and on the 1st floor. I said fine. Turn the lights on and flickering bulbs. I have never been to a place with a high rating on here that was so terrible. The lobby/breakfast/lounge was dirty. All the tables were visibly dirty. Just wasn’t a great experience. I believe this hotel should maybe be a 5. Just maybe. It just felt gross.

Stayed at this Holiday Inn on a Tuesday night. Hotel seemed busy based on the parking lot. Gentlemen at the front counter was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and I liked the variety of programming on the television. If you're in Decatur it's the best choice

I had a decent night sleep. A pizza guy knocked on my door late like he was the cops but I didn’t answer as I had not ordered a pizza. The refrigerator was leaking all over the floor. The bathtub was leaking and the bathroom floor was dirty with footprints. I was so tired I just laid down for rest. The front desk acknowledged the issues that morning and were super ready to resolve the issue.

My only complaint is that the pool water was green and when I asked for it to be cleaned. They put a sign out that said pool closed. Very disappointing as that was the main reason we booked the hotel. There was no compensation offered just I’m sorry!

The property is very worn. The shower fiberglass wall was broken, carpet stained. The parking lot had leaking water.
My room smelled like insecticide.
I would never stay there again.

Front desk clerk had an earbud in and was on a personal call the entire check in time, and when the keys didn’t work to the room, told me to “go try again”… After a second time trying with no luck, she came around the desk very put out and while still on the personal call, attempted to get the keys to work to no avail and stated “they aren’t going to work, I can just let you in when you need in”… After it was made clear that wouldn’t work for us, she finally moved our room.
While I’m thankful for the end solution, there are too many hotels out there to stay somewhere with an obvious lack of decent, professional customer service.

Skylar at the front desk was just fabulous in checking us in and taking care of our needs.
The breakfast was great. Complimentary lemon water in the lobby was very good also.

Well maintained, very clean in detail, quiet and just outside downtown.

Check in was easy and smooth. When we got to room the blanket on bed was stained. They did come change and it was really nice about it but it was gross. Bed was soft and slept well. We went to breakfast and Holiday Inn Express is always advertising hot breakfast and it was all cold. Went to breakfast at 8:30. No warmers on the food. Business was used and nice. This hotel I've stayed before and it needs a update. For the price we paid not sure it was worth the value.

The staff at the front desk and in the dining area were so helpful and accommodating to me and my friend's elderly mother, who has mobility and cognitive issues.
Our room was clean and comfortable, but there was not nearly enough lighting available to read. There were parts of the lower wall in the bathroom that were crumbling and in need of repair (probably from where water from the shower soaked them).
The front of the hotel was pleasant, but was backed by an empty lot, and our ground floor room looked out onto it and some dumpsters.
I found the U-turn from 287 North to be tricky in heavy oncoming traffic from the southbound lane and had to be careful when turning right onto the short driveway because of a big pothole on one side.
The hotel is just about 10 minutes north of the NRS Ranch, and not far from Decatur dining and other services.

This hotel needs major update. Doors in hallway were peeling paint or varnish. The fabric sofas in breakfast area had stains all over them. Tables had not been wiped clean from previous day. Dead locusts in hall. Toilet was really low, like for a child, not a full grown adult.
Breakfast was cheese omelet, dry turkey sausage, hard biscuits with gravy, usual other stuff.
Bed & pillows were comfy. Shade over window was repaired with duct tape. AC worked ok.
Would never stay here again. We made reservations at last minute cuz Hampton was sold out of king bedrooms. Mistake.

Food was left in the fridge from the previous occupants and the toilet made this high pitched noise off and on all night long. And housekeeping barged into our room at 6 in the morning, without warning or anything. 0/10 DO NOT STAY HERE

Room had funny smell, vinegar smell, struggled with air flow in room, driveway into hotel was bad broken concrete a big hole. Tub was stained really bad. Shower head blasted us.

The lady at the front desk was rude. We booked a king size bed and she gave us two full sized. When we went to ask for the right room she said “you can look at my screen. It says I can give you any room” until I argues it enough she said she’d go see if there was one being cleaned. She found one but didn’t speak to us till she had the key and was like “I found one. Here you go. It is being cleaned but should be done when you get up there”. It wasn’t. We had to wait about 10 min standing outside the room till it was finished. It was a clean room but she made check in miserable.
