Nice apparthotel with small kitchen
1.0
The reason we booked this apartment was that they advertised baby cots, which I reserved and emailed separately to confirm.
When we were arrived they confirmed a cot was set up in the room for us. However, there was no cot and one could not be found in the building. This was extremely inconvenient as we have a small baby with us.

The staff was pleasant but the room is not clean and poorly maintained

The communication and customer service are the best and most important to me, the room condition was exactly what I was expecting. Clean and tidy.
Merci

The appartment was roomy and clean with a balcony as an extra. There was enough parking space and the reception was friendly and helpfull.
MacDonlds, BuffloGrill & Carrefour are within walking distance.
Nothing then positives for the offered price.

The overall stay was ok and the breakfast was nice. The people working there were kind and helpful (apart from one lady).
What disappointed us was that we were in a floor where the rooms were in refurbishment and the furniture removed from the rooms were lying in the floor we needed to pass by. Moreover furniture, tools and other stuff were blocking the emergency exit. In case of an emergency anyone would have been forced to take the elevator, which usually is not recommended.
We would have expected to be informed of the construction works and as well that the emergency exits and staircase would be accessible.

Except for the available time to contact the staff on the phone, all was good enough :-

Dirty sheets, stained carpet and drapes, bed really noisy whenever you moved.

Place was horrendous. Disgusting. Never again I’m I booking with your company. Hairdryer had toothpaste all over it. Cig butts on balcony floor. Cigs had been put out all over the wall. No towels. Bedding stunk. Take me of your mailing list.

Nice place, room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Parking was great and was easy to get around using GPS. At first it could not find it in the database, but then it found it. This not the hotel's fault. All in all we would stay here again

We used this hotel as our base to travel al over normandy. The two ladies working the reception were very professional and help us a lot with all our questions. You can take the bus from the bus stop located almost at the front of the hotel to go to the city center, takes about 15 minutes for only 1.90 euros.

easy book in, English speaking, hotel and room were clean, good for what we required as a base to explore Normandy. Continental breakfast was ok. Caen only 5-10 mins in taxi for the restaurants there were a couple around the corner from the hotel. Free wifi.

This property is very easy to access by public transit, one bus to downtown and the train station. Also it is quiet compared to other locations. There is a mall with in walking distance so if you want to cook your own meals you can. The breakfast in the mornings are the hotel are good!
The staff were amazing! Always friendly and helpful!

Appart city represents great value if you do not want (or can't because the French restaurants do not cater for vegetarians) to eat out every night; the kitchenette has everything you need to prepare a simple meal. Good wifi; no english channels on TV but no the end of my world and forces me to translate so is good for my french language skills! The staff are really friendly although they do stick to the rules. Having arrived late we hadn't read the information on breakfast times; arrived at exactly 09.00 (the receptionist did say exactly) only to be told breakfast finished at 09.00 and no, despite there were still peaople eating and they hadn't started to clear the buffet we could not eat. The self check in means you can arrive late but the hotel are very late in sending the codes we are usually on the road and indeed the ferry so I have taken to emailing the hotel earlier and this seems to work. The property is easy to find despite the roadworks to put in the tram system and there is ample parking. My only complaint is the condition of the rooms; looking tierd, need new carpets, a lick of paint and new towels, the rooms are however spotless. It is not enough to stop us from staying and we would use the property again.

It is a great place to stay. Clean, quiet, comfortable; The only BIG problem : we could not access our room. It was late. This has been reported on previous reviews. Had been given the wrong code over the phone. Because they cannot send code on foreign mobile numbers.

Booked a family room and got a huge 2 bed suite with dining room and kitchen. Only paid £70 including a buffet breakfast. Check in via code past midnight and really convenient for the route from Brittany to Calais.

Classical low level apartments unit, it seems it had better days. The corridors were smelly and the carpet full of stains. The apartment is spacious enough to fit four people, there is a double bed and a sofa with a pullout bed. The furnitures are old and cheap. I don’t think it could be classified anymore as a three stars hotel. Fortunately we stayed only two nights to visit DDay beaches that are close by.At 5 minutes drive there is a big supermarket and the usual buffalo grill. I don’t think i will return again.

Very reasonable price for August but room and bathroom were a bit smelly with large stains on carpet. Beds were clean and shower worked fine.

We used this as a stopover from the ferry before we drove further south. Although the room was very dated, there was lots of space and it was great value for money. The breakfast room was quite small but there was lots of variety and they offered a gluten free breakfast. However, when they say there is gluten free pancakes, what they actually mean is they offer rice cakes.
Overall good for a one night stay and good value for money.

Good apartment when we eventually got in. As it was out of reception hours we received an email with what was to have all the info needed to access our room, but only received main door entry code.We made phone calls for the code to get our room key, no joy. About 15 min later a customer came in and gave us the safe code to receive door key. Reception next day said all info was sent to expedia so there responsibility! So be careful who you book through.

We booked for 3 adults in 2 rooms and we got 2 linked apartments with 2 X double rooms (1 with en-suite), kitchen, bathroom and living room. One of us had to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen was basic but good enough. There is no oven or toaster but there is a fridge, microwave, hob and filter coffee machine. Being 5 minutes walk to the local Carrefour supermarket is a bonus. Eating out is very limited within walking distance but there is a steak restaurant, McDonald's and Chinese within 5 to 20 minutes walk.

Reception closed early and before our arrival just after five o'clock on Saturday. Code for external door and code for safe containing keys and room information were sent in advance by SMS message written only in French. There was a telephone number in the reception area you could call if you needed help which the notice said was answered in French and English. There were a couple of flies flirting around in our room, but apart from that the room was clean albeit with a slight smell of cooking. It was air conditioned and had a comfortable bed but only one pillow each. We didn't have breakfast at Appart'City because it was included in the price of the cabin on the ferry. We left before the reception opened.

We had a two-night stopover en route to Calais as we wanted to see Mont Saint Michel. We chose this apart hotel as it gave us the freedom to cook for ourselves if we wanted to. The location was ideal for motorway access and food shopping. There were restaurants locally with a short drive, including fast food chains. There was also a petrol station close by.

Basic city apartment with small kitchenette, with utensils, en-suite bathroom, television, plenty of storage space and of course the bed/beds. We had a balcony but unfortunately to cold to sit out.Outside of the university on the edge of the city but round the corner from the tram stop. Macdonalds and a Buffalo grill restaurant round the corner. Price was very good value. Staff very helpful.

Outside looked nice and first glance at room was okay. They noticed kitchen cabinets were a bit run down. Later found pink n black mold in the Extremely small, and hard to get into, shower stall. This kind of mold takes a while to grow n showed extreme neglect. Lastly, the bed was very uncomfortable n made our backs hurt.

We arrived about 6:30 p.m., and immediately booked in with the help of friendly and obliging staff. We had many questions regarding Vimy Ridge Canadian Memorial location, distance and access. All our questions were easily answered by the helpful staff member. She also loaned us a charger for my wife's ipad plus the adapter which allows us to use power outlets.
Great nights' sleep and early check-out time helped us to get going in the morning.

hated that it only had wifi in lobby, was sitting on the ground with 10 other people every night. Had to clean up garbage and take with us to dispose of in lobby garbage bins. Seems like i was spending night at friends house and was cleaning up before we left, oh wait we actually paid to stay here, doesnt make sense. Plus bed was a pull out bed from couch, so very painful to sleep on.

Room was a very good size by Europe standards, And this was the cleanest room I have gotten anywhere. It is set up like a small apartment, with a kitchenette which is helpful on the budget. We had a studio which meant a fold out couch (I didn't know this before we went) but it was very comfortable and unlike the fold outs at home you didn't feel the pipes etc. it was very comfortable. There was a flat screen TV in the room, and the rooms had a drying rack, so you could hand wash clothes and put them on the drying rack. There is a food store nearby and a mall. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Things you need to know, the desk is only open from 8am- noon and 3pm-6pm so if you are going to be coming in later then that call ahead for codes. Also like an apartment, there is no maid service, you make your bed wash your dishes and go down to the desk and ask for extra towels, etc. In contrast we paid less for 3 nights here then what one night in Paris cost. You can get WiFi for a 2 euro per day fee, and they have a business center, but it is open limited hours. You can buy continental breakfast there, but there are many wonderful places to eat down in town. We did have a rental car so it made it easier for us to get to town and to the D-Day sites. This is the place to stay for a good size very clean room, not a lot of frills.
