Just spent one night at this fabulous hotel. The situation is perfect, on the river and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants and the railway station. The hotel is extremely friendly and all staff could not do more to help. Our welcome on check-in was exceptional and lovely being shown to the room personally. The rooms had every comfort and had fabulous air-conditioning as we arrived on an extremely hot day. We ate both in the restaurant and the bar and prices were competitive and all the food we had was excellent. Cannot praise this hotel enough and We will certainly return in the future.

Position

Just returned from a brilliant two night stay at The Relais, despite the endless rain. We were joined by family who were celebrating a special birthday and they were so delighted that we had chosen this hotel. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing is too much trouble and you feel really at home in such a nice atmosphere. They were all so cheery, friendly and welcoming. We felt sad leaving them which is a real sign of exceptional customer service. The manager, Andrew, was very visible, friendly and so helpful, pre-empting our needs and going the extra mile for us which was very much appreciated. I would strongly recommend the restaurant, Dominic Chapman too. The four of us had dinner there on our first night, with superb food. Some creative choices along with nice touches. A well selected wine list with lots of choice, and lovely attentive staff. We also had a great breakfast on both mornings. A great selection of dishes, excellent quality ingredients, delicious pancakes and excellent hash brown. It’s a lovely property right by the river, immaculate, with beautiful decor and a really nice riverside walk right outside your door. We are looking forward to returning later this year and highly recommend.

NIce Hotel located centrally in Henley, very clean and tidy. My room looked out on to the river and was nice and quiet.

Amazing staff, been a few times for work and the fact they recognise me and familiar excellent service compared to a national hotel chain.

Well appointed hotel right by the river and close to the centre of Henley with all its shops and eateries. Very friendly receptionist who made great recommendations for dinner and made reservations. Nice bar with a good selection of wine by the glass. Breakfast was buffet style and/or extensive hot options. We stayed in a room in the courtyard which was most pleasent although did take a while to warm up. No car park but the large CP at the railway station is only 5 minutes walk away and only a few pounds for the whole weekend. Definitely worth a stay.

Very nice room in courtyard behind the main building of the hotel. Hotel is very well situated for the river with its walking opportunities and hand for pubs and restaurants in the centre of the town.

Staff service terrible. This was supposed to be a VIP hotel but didn’t receive any of the benefits.

Second time at this hotel, very friendly staff, nothing to complain.

I stayed at the hotel when it was previously the Red Lions.It has undergone a total refurbishment & a total transformation.it is pleasant & comfortable. The hotel has introduced a sort of personal touch with welcoming notes from management & house keeping.The bed is turndown at night another note is left .It sometimes feels like they are overdoing the pleasantness to please guess.

It's a beautiful property, especially for the area but it is far from everything and taxi's are not cheap. We ordered room service everyday (coffee, cheese, bread) and they charged me the full price for a breakfast Buffett at $30 euros each which I did not agree with but didn't have time to argue (especially with the language barrier). Ants are everywhere and they need an exterminator.

The Relais is absolutely wonderful feom the moment you arrive. Fantastic location walkable to everything in Henley, beautifully updated yet historic and quaint property with extremely friendly and helpful staff. We didn’t eat or drink anything in the hotel because there are so many options close by. Will definitely stay here next time we are in Henley.
