Positives: nice location, friendly staff Negatives: small room, old small hotel, room lacks necessary stuff like iron, pool very small and not cleaned properly.

I don't often write reviews, but the staff at Monte Paschal Praia really do deserve some recognition for being so friendly, welcoming and helpful, especially when dealing with a complicated multi-part reservation, broken adapters et cetera. We were upgraded to a sea-view room, with a wonderful view of the bay. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet is delicious and the pool is perfect for cooling off on hotter days.

Great location, close to the beach and in a relatively safe area of Salvador. The hotel is well-maintained albeit starting to show signs of age. : great breakfast - -: (very) poor bed quality

This is an average hotel at best. Although I appreciated the cleanliness, the helpfulness of the staff and the ocean view from my room, I personally did not enjoy the Barra area and felt the hotel was not really worth the price. I would look elsewhere next time in Salvador.

I took the half pension… a mistake :-) a limited selection, and if you want the best dishes you need to pay full price. So you might end up eating the same every day… for the rest ok, close to the beach, not too far from Central Salvador, cleaning ok and breakfast ok

Horrible staff not kind or helpful especially the guys at the front desk none spoke any English Door man very rude and even the bus boys in the restaurant were telling the guests what to do as if the guests were their employees.the entire should be fired!! I WANT A FULL REFUND!!!

Was there for 14 days I truly enjoyed my stay perfect location close to the beach the staff was wonderful. Though the hotel was somewhat dated it was comfortable. I don’t know maybe its just me use to staying in five-star resorts perhaps someone else may see it differently.

The location was great. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Some of the front desk staff knew english, which is a plus for any foreign travelers. The breakfast in the mornings were delicious; freshly prepared and a fairly large selection of food to choose from. The bar serves up a tasty caipirinha.

A very short overnight stay to catch a flight out of town the next day, but didn't want to stay at an airport hotel, so I choose this hotel based on previous travelers recommendations. Hotel itself is fine, Fernando at the front desk spoke acceptable English, nice enough to upgrade my room. The hotel itself is fine with few complaints for the money, but the area around the hotel leaves much to be desired. Not a problem if all you want to do is lay on the beach, which of course is right across the street. There are better areas to relax and feel comfortable in this area. If you choose this area, the hotel will fit your needs.

On a very busy road, rooms are ok but not great. Breakfast was very good. Looking back I would have rather stayed in Rio Vermelho district

I loved the excessibilty tip the ocean and the sound of the wax dress to put me to a relaxed sleep.

I have been many times in Barra but This is the best hotel in Barra l. The rooms are nice big and up to date, detail: usb charger next to the bed. Amazing beds and pillow choice. I had a room with Seaview, the best view in Barra. Very good breakfast with a view and very helpful reception staff. Hotel has a private beach with free beds. An extra star for Madson , the beach boy, he is always smiling and does everything to make your stay at the beach a great stay . I travelled alone and when I went for a swim he took care of my bags and things . Thanks !

Room extremely small. Great location. Breakfast less than average by Brasilian standards. Had some problem with staff, but management seemed sincerely concerned. Fantastic views.

Very nice hotel in a good location, 15 minutes taxi drive from the historical centre of Salvador. Five minutes walking distance from a luxurious indoor shopping centre of Euorpean standards. Hotel swimming pool is a bit small but shallow and therefore suitable for children. Beach opposite is perfect for surfing. In all highly recommended.

This hotel is rough around the edges and in run down area. The pool is tiny, the wifi disfunctional and the rooms although bright had moss growing in the outside door frames. They spoke little or no English on reception and were never overly friendly or polite. Not good value for a 3*.

Was a good stay, because the hotel has an excellent location next to a beach with very good waves and very close to a good mall and restaurants

Great weekend stay. Hotel was clean and rooms were much nicer than many others I have stayed at in Salvador. Beach front view is a must. Well worth the money.
