The host was very friendly but our room needs a deep clean & an update of furniture, carpet, settee. We chose the honeymoon suite; the toilet & shower really needed a deep clean.

It was a very quiet period and we had good service from the management however we had a long period without any water whatsoever and had to ask for bottled water. It’s a very conveniently positioned property within easy reach of all amenities. Breakfast was very good, perhaps a fridge in the room could help

Kevin is an attentive host. The accommodation is well presented and very comfortable. The accommodation has fabulous views and is convenient for all the amenities in Kynsna. Kevin was particularly helpful in informing us of good local and attractions. We would happily stay there again.

A superb guest house in a good area. Kevin our host was very helpful, paid a lot of attention to details and serves a good breakfast. The views from the rooms over the estuary were lovely.

We stayed in many Hotels while travelling along the garden route. This guesthouse was by far the best! The view is awesome, the rooms are beautiful, best breakfast and especially Kevin the host is the best host you can have. It was a pleasure to stay here.

We loved our stay at Roseroc. Everything was perfect and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to family and friends. It was clean and private. We had a beautiful view of the water from our balcony. Breakfast was incredible, probably the best breakfast we have ever had at a B&B or hotel. Kevin was so helpful and kind. Thank you for the perfect stay in Knysna!

Firstly, we are not people who whinge over nothing or tiny problems. We had been recommended this place by a family member who had stayed 3 years earlier. We booked a Deluxe Queen room. There was NOTHING deluxe about it. We asked to move but the other rooms were taken. This property is in a state of disrepair and needs money spending on it. The website is VERY misleading. The pool was unusable, dirty and full of leaves, gardens overgrown and unkempt. Sun beds covered in leaves and dirty. Our room was damp, had to ask after 3 days for the towels to be changed and for more toilet roll. The bathroom was awful - blackened grouting in the shower, peeling silicone behind sink, old bathroom fittings. Doors didn’t fit properly and had to be banged shut.The host is charming and very knowledgeable and gives great recommendations. Breakfasts are good. No one at property to meet us when we arrived and we were left in the dark in the property on our first night with only the torches on our phones when the power went off until the owner arrived with a lantern. Overall, our stay here was not pleasant, we wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone which is a pity as it has great potential.

Given previous reviews and the hotel’s rating we were expecting a lot more from the property. Room was spacious and views were lovely but they are in need of decorating/refurbishing.

Kevin is a fantastic host. We had a wonderful stay in Knysna largely due to his amazing recommendations and delicious breakfasts. The honeymoon suite was perfect for our stay with spectacular views. Highly recommend. We cannot wait to visit again!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Roseroc Guest House for a few nights during our recent honeymoon to South Africa. The property is absolutely stunning both inside and out and has the most incredible view over the Knysna lagoon. As others have commented, Kevin (the owner) is an amazing host, providing us with excellent tips for things to do and places to eat. Each morning he put on an excellent breakfast that was presented with great panache and each evening, a wonderful turn-down service. Kevin can take you out for a private sunset tour of the lagoon on his boat, we did this and absolutely loved it, it was a highlight of our trip - so we thoroughly recommend you book this with him. Knysa has lots of restaurants a short walk away and there are plenty of taxis available to go back. Our only regret was that we did not stay in Knysna and at the Roseroc for longer. Lovely property and location. Excellent amenities, very clean (including the car washed!) and very well looked after - the breakfast was great and the glass of port in the evening appreciated! The owner can also arrange private boat tours in his boat across the estuary which was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I would return

If you are looking for a nice and beautiful place to stay in Knysna: book this hotel! The hotel is on a great location with a perfect view and owner Kevin is so nice and a perfect host. He gives you the best tips and advises for your day trips and he is also a great captain: his sunset cruise is a very nice trip to join. And then the breakfast: what a nice and good start of every day. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this special place!
