The Duck House is a beautifully maintained older home with an abundance of character. The Host was lovely and very helpful and there we’re generous supplies for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

A lovely stay in a well cared for historic home. Many ducks, decorative and useful. Well equipped and very comfortable. A beautiful back garden access, even some herbs and veggies to pick. Lovely, informative hosts close by. Highly recommended.

This was the best place we stayed at in Tasmania. I loved the decor and it was large and roomy for all of us. The house was immaculate and homey and just felt so comfortable to stay in. The provisions and facilities were above and beyond. The owners were gracious and welcoming. I highly recommend a stopover here and would suggest longer than I had.

Nice and spacious rooms, with lots of nice extras.

The property is charming and beautifully decorated in period style. We had a warm welcome from our hosts, to whom nothing was too much trouble.

We booked at he Duck House but ended up staying at Amelia's - their other property. Our hosts were generous and lovely, the accommodation was comfortable, and the breakfast top notch. Would absolutely recommend this host.

Once again, an absolutely fabulous stay. Fantastic amenities and wonderful historic cottage/house. Walking distance to CBD,pubs and restaurants. Lynne and Tich are superb hosts- nothing is ever too much trouble, although I doubt you ever want for anything. This was our third stay, and many more to come.

Enjoyed a great stay at Duck House. As usual the ambience, hospitality and generous breakfast provisions were outstanding. Have stayed at Mrs Philpotts cottage previously and also can highly recommend that, although the Duck House was perhaps a bit more cosy for a couple. Appreciated the heating on the cold rainy nights. Toiletries were advertised as being provided, but there was only soap (no shampoo). Highly recommended, will stay again.

Great stay, wonderful hosts! This is actually a 2 bedroom house, very nicely furnished. I recommend this property to all yravelers.

This is an outstanding destination for creature comforts, beautiful period fittings, generous hosts and edible extras. A country French influence describes the kitchen and dining areas while the living room and bedrooms are plush colonial Australian. The photos do not tell the whole story! The helpful hosts are happy to give you directions and even veggies from the back garden! Easy to find, much to enjoy!

We had a lovely stay. We were welcomed by the hosts & made to feel at home straight away. I really loved the veggie garden at the back & a plus was being able to pick some tomatoes to add to our supplied breaky, and they were delicious. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Duck house to my friends

Excellent stay. We enjoyed breakfast with tomatoes and corns from the garden. It was an easy walk to penguin viewing and museums. Quiet residential area.

Perfect cottage for relaxing evening overnight stay in Burnie. Loved the ambience and little touches that made the Duck House so quirky yet comfortable. Walking distance to seafront and restaurants.

Wonderful place to stay. Great facilities with all the extra comforts that make it much nicer than a hotel. Spacious 3 bedroom house that has plenty of room. A lovely garden which is a delight to be in. A hearty breakfast included in the rate and car parking makes staying so easy and a simple walk into town.

Three of us stayed here for work which made it an extremely economical stay. We stayed in the three bedroom property. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, and the house had everything we needed. This property would be ideal for a family holiday. Breakfast is included in the price and is a cook it yourself affair with delicious bacon and eggs.

The beds were comfortable which is an important factor in our stay. The breakfast supplies were adequate and there were plenty of eggs and bacon in the fridge, along with tea and coffee. Some home made cookies would have added a nice touch, and perhaps some fresh fruit.The bathroom was amazing, large and airy. I loved the old bathtub. The owners were very pleasant and flexible and Tich gave us a brief history behind the Duck House story.Access to a clothes line was great. The 2 lounge rooms were old world but comfortable at Amelia's, but the kitchen was modern and large.
