A place I can return to over and over again. Such kind friendly and helpful staff and beautiful surroundings. Looking forward to when I can return again

Its a beautiful hotel with a big restaurant, lounge area and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However the room we stayed in had an attached toilet that just about fits an average person standing. It was difficult to even sit and use the toilet properly. This was the only letdown. This wasn't shown in the pictures for the room which I think is not fair on customers trying to understand what they are buying into.
4.2
The most stunning location in Tintagel. My room was small and cheap and had a plastic pod bathroom. I didnt eat there. But I enjoyed Tintagel Castle ans (for me) a challenging walk to Boscastle

Beautiful hotel, great staff, really clean just bathroom was really small and looked closet 👍

We stayed in room 113. The view was expansive facing the sea and Tantegel castle. We arrived after Tantegel closed but took the hike from just outside the hotel grounds. It was beautiful.
We had drinks in the bar and dinner in Irina’s restaurant. Excellent food and the staff were extremely kind!

The location was amazing, the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good, if a bit expensive. The room was a very good size with great views. However, there was a lack of plug sockets, no decent lighting near the mirror, which was a good size though. The biggest issue, the bathroom. I've seen bigger toilets on an aircraft. It was a cubicle. All plastic. I sat on the toilet and could touch the shower wall and could not straighten my arm. If your companion had needed the loo whilst you were showering, then tough. Sink very poor design for shaving. I know its an old place, but better planning when en-suite fitted should have been better. Staff just brushed aside my issues as "we know, its an old place and it takes time to renovate ". My view, at over £120 per night, without breakfast, (£15.95 extra each), the room should have been cheaper or breakfast included.

It was a fantastic stay. Very helpful and supportive team.
Thanks

Lobby looked ok, got to the room, was not clean, very dingy and musty smell renovated in the 70’s maybe? Bathroom was an insert like on an inside cabin of a cruise ship. We left immediately and found a nice new Holiday Inn.

Everything was great. Lovely room with comfortable bed and good facilities - plus an outstanding sea view. Food was excellent.

It was amazing experience, beautiful location , wonderful experience to explore Tedd paintings.

The hotel is amazing and the view from our room of Arthur’s Tintagel castle was breathtaking and also had a balcony - such a treat to watch the sunsets and for the extra money is well worth it the only thing wrong was the little bathroom pod plonked in the corner was something right out of a static caravan it had such a high step up and a shower that was so tiny the shower curtain that could only cling to you and fall off it’s metal runners while you tried carefully to shower - we believe they are always upgrading the hotel and maybe they are going to redo this bathroom but in the meantime was more of a laugh for the money and status of this room and view I’m afraid - otherwise 5 stars.

A quaint and memorable retreat! Breath-taking views!

Hotel needs an update - but Service and restaurant is very friendly

The property is quite grand, and quirky. It's kind of its main attractions. And it delivers on that, hence the higher score. But it's not without it's oddities and drawbacks.
First...the breakfast. It's full cooked breakfast isn't that great and I don't think it's worth the money. Whetherspoon's breakfasts are of a better quality and value for money! As are other breakfasts in larger hotel brands. So either stick with the cheap option or have breakfast out.
The bathrooms are definitely a weird choice. The property is old, and historic. Which is lovely. The rooms also match this. Not modern, you wouldn't expect that from a period hotel like this, but they are clean. However...the bathrooms are basically like small built in pods. It feels like a bathroom you'd get in a caravan and basic camper can. They're smaller, cramped, and plastic. They don't suit the rest of the building or the overall aesthetic and feel of the place. They're just odd...and while functional, very small and not pleasant to use. It's impossible to shower and dry in the room without hitting the walls.
The staff were lovely and friendly.
Also the entrance way with all the photos of the owner with celebrities is also a weird choice. It feels a little egotistical and pointless. Especially seen as the photos don't appear to be at the hotel itself. They're quite weird. The art work elsewhere is great though.

lovely house with period features right on the coast and easy acces to the village. right on the coastal path for easy access to walkable other places
4.2
Great place to stay when visiting Tintegal.

if you have never been to the Camelot hotel before be prepared , the hole place was full of weird paintings with photos of celebrities some i had never heard of before and of course Donald Trump. weird literature lest in the room
witch had a wonky tap in the shower room and a pice of the shower fell off every time you closed the doors.
in fact on researching the hotel its part of some scientology group.
But the veuses are spectacular.

Upgraded to a recently refurbished suite as it was our honeymoon. Superb !
4.2
The hotel is perfectly situated for Tintagel castle, coastal walks and just sitting with a glass of wine and looking out across the sea.
We stayed in the east wing suite which was amazing, with exceptional facilities and views.
The restaurant serves great food and the breakfast is excellent value for money as well as being one of the best we have tasted.
4.2
Great location. Room size ok. Not very comfortable. Light comes through the window curtains and glass from the corridor at night.
Smallest shower room, we have ever seen. Possibly taken from a caravan. Can’t even brush or take a shower properly. Very smelly shower curtains. Quite noisy outside.
4.2
Great place.

A bit tired and shabby looking inside. Door to bedroom needed a lick of paint. Beds were comfy though, and room was quiet.
Breakfast was extra and was expensive and not worth the money. Bacon dry, shrivelled up and rock hard.Mushrooms tinned. Coffee lukewarm. Only ate there once, then got much better breakfasts for much less money elsewhere in Tintagel.
Weird artwork all over the place. (One or two would have been okay but it was everywhere). Dark and gloomy in the lobby and guests lounge despite bright, sunny weather outside. Overall a bit of a weird atmosphere in the place.
Staff very friendly and helpful though.
Best thing about hotel was the view, which was superb, both from the room and even more so from the terrace out the back.
Will be back in Tintagel but won’t stay in this hotel again. Much cheaper options offering an overall better product elsewhere in the town. Sorry!

Booked this dog-friendly hotel for its four-poster bed with sea and Tintagel castle views. Room size excellent. Views excellent. Price was £250 per night in July (bed only) plus £20 per night for dog. Staff were very good, though there was staff confusion over the room that could be used for eating with dogs which didn't open until 9.30am for 8.30am breakfast time.
Once in the room, I am sorry to say that its rating went down fast.
We were not prepared for what can best be described as a pink, very compact, caravan-style plastic toilet/shower pod stuck in the corner of the room. Not what was expected for a room with this price tag. There wasn't even room for a fitted toilet paper holder and the glass shelf above the sink meant that you couldn't get your head fully over the sink to wash without banging your head against the shelf and its sticking-out plastic toiletries' tray.
Views through the very large windows (six of them), as mentioned before, were fabulous - unfortunately they were also visible through the night as the long drape curtains looked as though there were two missing as they didn't cover the windows without large gaps.
The impressive four-poster constantly creaked as the clearly visible support was what looked like plywood on top of slats and felt like the mattress was about to fall through at any moment. Thank goodness we weren't on our honeymoon!
Overall a disappointing experience. Would recommend only with caveats.
4.2
Location and views were amazing. The mattress however was lumpy, uneaven and uncomfortable. The toilet is akin to a portable toilet/shower. It was so tiny and when one showers, the entire toilet gets wet. The saving grace was that the water pressure was good.
Breakfast at the restaurant was acceptable but kudos to the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating.
Overall, not an unpleasant experience but the the toilet/shower and mattresses need to be upgraded.

It is a unique hotel. Situation and decor unlike anything else. Very comfortable, friendly and within budget.

A wonderful hotel with lots of character and charm .friendly staff and very helpful with any request

This is definitely a novelty property and I’m pretty sure it haunted. It’s very old and in need of A LOT of repair and remodel. Don’t let the online pictures fool you!
I gave this place 2 stars because the staff were very friendly and the sea views were beautiful but that’s about it.
The windows are single pane and we were there in July so you’d think it wouldn’t matter too much since it’s summer but it was cold, windy and raining so it was getting in the windows. There was no way to turn the heating on in the room either. I hate to have stayed there in the winter.
The worst thing was that the bathroom was tiny!! Like the size of a camper or caravan. When you turned the shower on the entire bathroom got wet even with the shower curtain. It was ridiculous how small it was.
As for the haunted part, I just got a weird feeling in this place, as soon as I got there. While trying to sleep, I had a weird, unexplainable pressure on my forehead and neck and the tv switched itself on in the middle of the night. I didn’t sleep great.
4.2
Very unusual property and quite dramatic location. Nice food and friendly staff. Room was quite small with basic bathroom. External area a little neglected at the rear. Overall a pleasant experience

The best

I arrived got my key for room went up to room and found room hadn’t been cleaned
For a hotel like that I thought it would be a lot nicer! Could do with a paint outside it’s all flacking off ! Staff are lovely and helpful
4.2
Hotel location is excellent and staff were really friendly, polite and professional. Hotel itself was quirky with some odd fixtures and fitting which, other than being a bit dated and stayed, were, generally, fine. The one massive exception to this was the bathroom in the room which was no more than a very small plastic cubicle similar to those in a small caravan and totally unsuitable for anyone of large stature and certainly not what you would expect in a, supposedly, 4 star hotel.
One other issue I personally had, was the private owner political view and support of the Reform party being demonstrated with posters placed all public areas around the hotel !!
4.2
Fabulous as ever..
4.2
Great stay enjoyed very much, nice personal touch from owner/artist hope to come back and stay longer next time
4.2
Hotel located in a stunning place; walking paths around and Tintagel Castle on a walking distance. Room confortable and quiet. The only critic I have is towards the bathroom ; it was so small and the shower is mixed with the toilet ; felt like in a camping car and not a hotel.
4.2
Toilet / shower facilities were modular inserts that were on par with a pop-up camper - not what I'd expect for the price point of the hotel. WiFi was weak and could not support basic social media streaming. Front desk had odd hours - not available until 08:30. You need to make pre-planned reservations for Breakfast (??) and dinner. Bar staff was nice and helpful.
4.2
Totally excellent.
4.2
Positives: location, view, balcony with swallows nests, staff. Negatives: tired hotel, in places not clean. Bathroom pod in rooms more in keeping with a caravan than a historic hotel. Potential customers should be aware of this before booking. Room furniture is small and 1960’s, again not in keeping with room or hotel. No balcony furniture. Reception covered in photos of hotel owner with celebrities, and every room has mediocre modern art by one of the owners / resident artist. Not nice. Owners have created their own newspaper and created other literature poems. It’s all very self promoting, self congratulating without have any tangible substance, vague and woolly. We asked for a nice view when booking a special dinner, this was missed by the staff. Dinner was unremarkable and portion sizes were small. Overall an odd experience at a seedy but well situated hotel.
