We had an amazing stay at Demetria. The units we stayed in was dark as the walls were black and grey, but the stay was comfortable. Our bungalow was spacious, as clean as it could be given that it was a tropical setting filled with plants and lots of birds. We loved how quiet and soothing the property was. I would definitely stay here again. I feel that anyone giving bad reviews has expectations of a very American "holiday inn" experience. This is not it. This is old world Mexico done very well.

The bathroom shower tile floor was extremely dirty, and there were numerous missing tiles, making it clear that maintenance is urgently required. The lack of upkeep seriously impacted the overall experience.

We booked through Orbitz, after talking to the hotel staff and being advised to do so. The information on Orbitz about rooms is inaccurate: photos depict a category of room incorrectly. As a result, we booked the largest room on Orbitz, only to find that none was available when we arrived at the hotel. We had to settle for a lesser room. Very unhappy about that!

The room had a musty smell, and so did the linens. The front desk staff was not very friendly, and was a bit stand off-ish. The bungalows need a facelift, most of the things are outdated (both furniture and and property.

Very close to the CAS (USA Visa Interview), three blocks. Several restaurants within walking distance. Price reasonable, clean rooms and large rooms for the price paid

I stayed here on a busy Saturday night. Pride Fest was going on which was awesome & I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced it was. The check in process was super easy, the desk agent was super sweet & efficient. The room itself was absolutely beautiful, we loved how spacious it was and especially loved the balcony & separate living room and bedroom. The only thing was that when we went to take a shower the water smelled so incredibly awful that it didn’t even feel like we showered. Other than that…. It was incredible!

Nice property with tasteful décor and good layout little bungalows. Well-run with an attentive and friendly staff; Azúcena and Carlos at the front desk always do their best to make my stay more pleasant. The only downside during all my stays at this property ,since there is limited cleaning staff the room cleaning always takes to long to be done. Mariana and Gael definitely need more help. Overall a very enjoyable stay excellent staff at a clean well-appointed property. As long as Azúcena and Carlos works here I will definitely keep coming back.

A charming property, rooms nicely decorated , friendly staff. The hotel is centrally located, well conected, walkable and good restaurants near by.

staff not friendly,rude, bad mood. Pathways to rooms crumbling, easy to trip especially at night, cant roll luggage. Only changed sheets once. Did not clean room unless asked to; then staff responded moody. Shower floor was so dirty we washed and bleached our own.

I like the location and the quietness. come on guys you give a kitchenette you got no glasses silverware or even a pot?

Beautiful unique place to stay, lots of space, awesome furniture. The adjoining small restaurante is excellent with great twist on Mexican classics. The boutique shop next to it has great local designs. I have been staying here fir the last 4 years and always great, each room is is unique with the decor and wonderful courtyard.

To sum up the disappointments: 1) The bathtub couldn’t drain, so you end your shower standing in grey water. 2) Not clean; piles of long red hair clinging to all points of the chair/setee, and there was a make-up brush and a sort of post-use container lying on a chair. (If you miss things that big, how good could the cleaning be?) 3) The windows (filthy) had no screens, so I had mosquitos to battle in February. 4) Towels were frayed to the point of having no hems, with long strings of threads hanging off them. Shabby chic? 5) The bathroom stunk of what I first thought was sewage, but I came to believe it was sulphur I smelled. This suggests there was no filter or softener in the water system. 6) Cockroaches made a pilgrimage to die in the bathroom. 7) No means to make coffee in the room, when I asked for a kettle, I was offered a filthy Mr Coffee maker, and told I would have to wash it. 8) No coat hangers in the closet. 9) There’s an apartment above the room I stayed in, and I could hear every step of the upstairs residents high heels when she wore them. It was like living in a drum. 10) No instructions for programming the safe, and no way I could figure out to make the TV work. 11) The unit faced the street so I was always waking up to street noise, even though the windows were closed for the mosquitos. 12) The magazines artfully displayed were from October 2018 and Summer 2021. On the plus side, the staff at the front were all helpful friendly and courteous

this is a great place quiet...super quiet but yet 2 min to Chaupultepec bars. walking distance to nice restaurants and breakfast places. excellent.

the architecture and the layout of the property we're really unique. the stone floor getting and coming from your room was somewhat of a problem for suitcases on Wheels because of the gaps in the stones. overall it was a very nice day and I would come back again

This is an awesome hotel in the colonial Americana neighborhood. Great old property with an amazing staff. Thanks especially to Carlos at the front desk for all his help

Excellent stay. Beautiful settings, spacious and comfortable. The staff was incredible. The down side the lack of amenities, swimming pool was on the hotel building which is about a block away, no coffee maker in the room, at least not on the type of room I stayed and only one bootle of water free of charge a day.

What a quaint little gem of a place this is in a sleepy but glamorous part of the city. Many restaurants and places of interests are just a few minutes walk away. It was nice to be able to use the amenities from the Hotel tower which is only around the corner block. The casitas are gorgeously stylish and had most of the essentials; except a coffee maker for me. But there’s a really cute cafe right upfront. The staff were amazing and answered all my questions and addressed concerns. I will highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

I loved everything about Demetria Bungalows. The rooms are designed with function and aesthetic in mind. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Being able to use the amenities at Demetria Hotel was also a plus. We loved the neighborhood and all restaurants in walking distance. I would definitely stay again at Demetria Bungalows without any hesitation next time I come back to Guadalajara.

A wonderful place to stay for a short or long time in Guadalajara. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The neighbourhood is wonderful and easy to walk to many restaurants and bars. Best kept secret in the city.

Amenities, rooms, and customer service aren’t suitable for a business trip ie. unreliable wifi. The hotel manager confirmed the hotel was more suitable for leisure travelers.

The bungalow was extremely comfortable, quiet, and nicely decorated. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable. The shower had the best water pressure I've experienced in a hotel in Mexoco. Guests at the Bungalows can use the well-appointed gym at the Demetria Hotel, which is a few minutes walk away. The Demetria Hotel restaurant is absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend the ensalada de espinaca, pescado zarandeado, and pescado en salsa de esparrages. The architecture of the bungalows is enhanced by the contrasting modern furniture and art work. The Demetria Hotel architecture and decor is masterful and extremely comfortable.
