Wilderness Hotel Muotka was amazing! We stayed in Aurora cabin 304 for 4 spectacular nights. The hotel is clean, efficient and the staff is great! Seeing the northern lights from bed is something we’ll never forget! If you’re considering a trip to Lapland, this is where you should stay!

First and foremost, staff’s attention to detail and promptness to accommodate my requests; amazing aurora cabin, delicious food and activities tailored for unforgettable experiences.

The people were fantastic!

We had an amazing stay. The hotel provides cold weather clothing free of charge to use during your stay which is very helpful (boots, gloves, snowsuit, helmet, etc.) There is free WIFI, but only available in the lodge. Our only feedback was that it was very difficult to manage the temp in our cabin and we got very hot. There are no additional bedding items in the room, only a heavy comforter and a small blanket. Overall we had an amazing stay and got to see the Northern Lights twice despite some cloudy days. Thanks to the lovely staff who were so friendly and went out of their way to accommodate any request!

We loved our stay at the Wilderness Muotka. The staff was very friendly, the food was incredible and the glass igloos were exactly everything we hoped for.

Hotels.com benefits were initially not granted. Hotel is in nice location. Service level rather basic, at times not very friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic peaceful stay in nature. No restaurants or bar life close by and alot of beautiful nature. The hotel supplies a lot of nice activities to do. Snowmobile, skiing, walking.

All was fine. Friendly staff. Eating at rooms and limited menu was not nice but that was mandatory due to COVID. Room was ok, but bathroom/shower was outdated. Also TV and coffee/tea in rooms would have been nice.

The food and customer service at this place are top notch! We were given many valuable advices on arrival and the breakfast was really superb. It’s unfortunate though that the information on Hotels.com about the room features is false: There is NO coffee maker/tea pot or heated floor in the bathroom. Always a bit dissapointing not getting what was promised but the place manages to turn the experience into a positive one!

A nice place with Wonderful staff... it’s clean tiny and cozy

I had what the front desk called a "superior suite with sauna." Well, it was not a suite, it was a room. I didn't find it superior, either. The bed was very good, the shower and sauna were good, too. But there was no TV nor wi-fi in the room! Is that superior? Not for the price I paid! Furthermore, they offered instant coffee in the room - in Finland! Don't get me wrong: the room was okay. But for the money I paid it was a rip-off.

This place is just amazing. If you want to live through the most outstanding auroras and northern experience, this is the place to go. The team at Muotka are wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable. The best description I can give for my rating of this place is that I would not hesitate to go back again many times and as soon as I can. Be prepared to spend an important amount of euros in dinner (44 per person every night) and in local tours (they range between 115 and 200 euros; some of them are exceptional and worth the investment). I'm a world traveler and without a doubt this place is in my top 10 list. Take me back!!!

Stayed in the aurora bubble. It’s a tiny space but laying on the bed and looking up at the open sky is quite an experience. Bed is comfortable, room is clean, no wifi and no TV. There’s a small sauna inside the bathroom, always nice to have. Standing shower is powerful; However hot water is limited so for those who take a shower longer than 10 minutes be prepared for an icy bath. Would recommend it just for the experience.

Lapland is beautiful & the hotel is in a perfect position to let you enjoy nature. But unfortunately The staff's disorganisation & rude behaviour really ruined this trip for us. It's a shame because the aurora and log cabin were nice(although the "panoramic views" are really just of the other cabins so you don't get much privacy). Food & airport transfer are way overpriced. Not a "hotel" in a traditional sense; no phones, TVs, room service or WIFI, if you need anything you have to walk back to the main building. Our arrival at the hotel was very unwelcoming, we were grouped with all the other guests & talked at for an hour when all we wanted to do was head to our rooms after a full day of travel. We were then told our tours hadn't been booked, even though they had taken payment & confirmed via email. To which we were told "we get so many emails". (!) Although not overly friendly (perhaps a cultural difference) & seemingly inexperienced, the staff were for the most part courteous. However after the hotel made an error with our tours (again)one woman at reception spoke to us so rudely I left in tears. We travel frequently & were shocked staff would speak to guests like this(& for a mistake they made). A week after we returned we also got an unpleasant surprise that the hotel had charged our credit card again for a bill we'd already paid on check-out. After a few emails we were given a refund but obviously had to swallow the international transaction fees ourselves.

We had a sauna cabin. It was beautiful, nice bathroom and sauna, beautiful private view, nice wood stove, very comfortable bed. Just loved it. The aurora alarms are worth it. We had a brief and short view from our window on our first night, and then the next night was an incredible light show right outside our cabin. The complimentary overalls and snow boots were awesome for getting properly protected from the elements quickly to get out to see the light show. The lodge was beautiful and the staff very helpful and friendly, with a great orientation. Heikke (sp?) was a great snowmobiling guide through the fells.

My wife and I travel a lot between work and vacation. This is the best resort we've ever visited. First, the stay are phenomenal people. They are tentative to all your requests and genuinely want to make sure you are having a lovely time. We booked an excursion through the hotel and absolutely loved it. Also, the cabin we stayed in was spectacular. The bed was comfortable, lovely spa, amazing fireplace and spacious. The breakfast was very tasty and we had a lovely time at the bar. I wish I could give this hotel a 10 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely loved our stay here - it was perfect. Perhaps the most beautiful accommodation/surroundings weve ever stayed in and friendly and welcoming staff. We will be back!

away from town lights, concentrated on light viewing. felt excellent viewing light laying on bed inside the glass house, no need to wait outside in the cold. free skiing gear for the whole time staying period, so we did not feel much cold and enjoy the activity and staying very much. it would be even better if it could provide wider range of vegan food.

Our 4 days stay was amazing. We really enjoy it. We were also lucky and we saw northern lights every day of our stay. The staff is very friendly and they make every thing to go smoothly. The descrition of the cabin is very punctual and correct. Is is not cheap, but worthly every eur. Highly reccomended.
