Did not feel unsafe but warned to be careful. No beach access

Staff was very attentive!

Loved the breakfast and the hospitable staff. The location was perfect to access Carnival. Lots of security and felt safe. If you're a light sleeper, you'll hear Carnival music in your room until 6am daily. Lol.

WiFi didn’t work at all in the room, which was also old-dated and dark. Breakfast was fine and location next to a beach. However cannot recommend as the hotel is not good value for money.

Location is everything! Close to the Farol da Barra and surroundings but in a privilege place, silent and sea front. Rooms are ok but furniture (bed and mattress included!) is out fashioned and old.

I simpy love hotels that are situated right next to the sea. The views are spectacularly gorgeous. It has this haunting beauty that is timeless. The hotel staff are super friendly, notably Felipe. And this quiet place is just a short walk away from the busy Barra district, so you can pull away and relax whenever needed. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Enjoy and relax.

Vila Galé Salvador is a wonderful place to stay in Salvador. Well located, near the beach and the center of the city. Secure, clean, quiet and friendly staff are few of its qualities!! I highly recommend!!!

We enjoyed our stay our stay at the hotel. It was clean and the staff did their best to communicate with our broken Portuguese. Breakfast and the buffet dinner offered a wide variety of food and all were delicious. If you need water, there is a small shop called Fatima’s that is 1/2 block from the hotel. We didn’t use the pool or the sun deck, but many people were. The hotel was perfect as our base for day trips. We would definitely stay there again.

Great location, very convenient and safe. The hotel must have been one of the best in the city, now it is just old. Breakfast is up to standard. Rooms are very spacious. Staff barely speak any English.

The check-in process was extremely easy and quick. The staff is kind and helpful. Check-out is also fast. Breakfast is full of options, and you won't leave the hotel hungry. The bed was very comfortable. I believe the rooms could get an update, and I am referring more specifically in my case to the chair there is in the room for working. In general, I recommend it.

The location was perfect. Safe and by the beach. My only complaint is the second restaurant remained closed during my entire stay and the Versatil restaurant went to a buffet only for the last 4 days of my stay. I would have preferred to order from the menu.

This facility is out of date, and at a distant from restaurants, stores and bars. You need a car to go around the tourist spots.

He hotel has a nice view and good location, but needs a major upgrade, toilets was clogged and sink as well, the shower nob came off on my hands . The food is absolutely terrible !

Cheguei antes do horário do check-in. Como o quarto já estava disponível, liberaram logo para eu poder descansar e ainda liberaram o café da manhã também. Foram muito gentis, voltaria mais vezes.

Staff was very friendly and we felt welcome. Weiters were well trained and very polite . Portuguese Wine is very good .Hotel is well located in Salvador , easy to go for a walk in the morning

Vários pontos precisam ser melhorados: ar condicionado antigo barulhento com apenas 3 niveis (alto medio baixo), cheiro de desinfetante forte no quarto, banheiros com piso liso sem antiderrapante... enfim, precisa de uma bela reforma.

I really enjoyed my stay but I have one complaint. The food at the buffet did not have proper labels. Specifically these labels were missing key ingredient for common allergies such as fish and shellfish. I ate a pepper oil sauce that was marinated in tuna fish. I'm severely allergic to fish and my air passages began to shut down. It was carnival so taxis/ubers could not reach the hotel and I was forced to call an ambulance for treatment. The staff was hesitant to call an ambulance but thankfully my friend insisted that they do it. So now I have a medical bill of undetermined amount. I contacted the hotel and they have not responded, which is unacceptable. A simple label could have prevented all of this an not put my life at risk.

We are very happy with our choice and we are looking forward to go back. We love the location and the staff, in special Sr. Joselito at Tapioca station, he’s service was excellent, especially in fix the scrambled eggs from the kitchen, what was the only flaw to us.

Nice quality hotel in safe area midway between Barra port and Rua Vermelho area. Very quiet area. Hotel has nice pool and bar. Rooms facing sea are worth extra fee.

Excellent value - quality for money. One of best hotels in this price range in Salvador. Well located directly on the coast in a nice relatively safe residential area. Definitely worth pay little more for a room with sea view.. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Good but a little dated hotel. The hotel has great view over the Atlantic ocean and staff is superb. Breakfast and A la carte food is good (unfortunately only available 2 days a week) but I would skip the dinner buffe and eat in a restaurant instead.
