After driving 7 hours and being extremely tired we were excited to get into our room and rest. The second we opened the door a putrid smell came wafting out. I couldn't decide if it was paint, glue, commercial cleanser, or vinyl. It was overwhelmingly unpleasant. When we went to the front desk and said something our only option was 2 separate beds. This upset my girlfriend as she sleeps better with me. Once we got back inside the room she explained that this chemical scent would trigger a migraine which it did. We ended up finding a grocery store. I bought air freshener, a candle, Lysol fragrance cleanser, and cinnamon. We spent $20 to go back and clean the entire room. Luckily I own a cleaning business. I washed the walls, the bathroom, and all the surface areas. Luckily that did the trick. Unfortunately the beds were uncomfortable so after all that work it was hard to fall asleep. Blanket was also paper thin. Now the only reason I booked this place was for the breakfast. The cheap coffee and pre packaged 10 cent muffins was very underwhelming as well. No fresh fruit. My expectations were low and yet I was sadly disappointed.

Breakfast is not full need discrabe about breakfast more before booking.

It is a nice hotel and good for an extended stay.

As soon as i went to my room, the hallways we're dirty with an awful smell. The room i had stink. It had old furniture, the refrigerator looked like it was picked up in the middle of the road. The bathtub was dirty also. People live here too so it was noisy at times. Just a horrible experience never again. Don't waste your time just run.

Nice quiet hotel it’s clean the rooms are spacious the hotel is super clean

My stay was good. I only have a problem with the coffee/breakfast is not out longer and is not a big variety.

We had 2 rooms. First Room smelled terrible, like old restaurant and mold, opened windows, people were smoking cigarettes and weed below. The worse part was sleeping, I felt stinging all over my body and then my son complained in the middle of the night that he is itching all over and can’t sleep. I have never experienced anything like this before. Everything inside is beat up and old. If we weren’t on the road all day and extremely tired we would leave. Our second room smelled like urine and seemed dirty. Didn’t experience itching in bed there though. We booked it based on 7/10 rating, it should be 1. I think this property needs to be demolished and a new one built.

A very basic hotel. Worn mattress and furnishings. Friendly staff.

The grab and go breakfast is lame, limited and unsatisfying.

Who would strongly recommend Extended Stay into anyone that is looking for a good safe clean courteous environment.. after moving out of my apartment abruptly due to mold and shuffling around from different hotels I ended up at extended stay and have never left I've been here for months now and because it has been such a wonderful experience I haven't been in a big rush to find a new place unfortunately I've had the experience of a lot of different hotels and this is by far one of the very best

I stayed there and extended stay hotel because I’m in the process of buying a condo and it’s not ready yet, but it was a good getaway relaxation area. I will do it again.

Very dirty and old. We bought cleaning supplies to clean it but then decided to go to another hotel

Some maintenance issues - reported to front desk who were very responsive to all needs, requests. Quiet! Spacious room with kitchenette so able to make breakfast and relax in the morning.

Disappointed experience

The bathroom vanity front fell off and was never replaced. The kitchen countertop formica countertop edge fell off and was not replaced either. General state of disrepair. Clean but in disrepair. Staff was friendly. Not located in a great area.

Not the cleanest. TV didnt work. No blow dryer. Lots of homeless people outside smoking.

It was absolutely disgusting. The bed had hair in it and the entire place was so dirty

I've been living at Extended Stay since approximately October of last year the staff is always been very respectful to me and I'm quite comfortable here I do feel very safe my room is very clean I would recommend Extended Stay in Meriden to anybody that is either traveling or between places I myself had to move out of my apartment abruptly due to a flood I came here and got quite comfortable didn't even rush to find another place and to my surprise there are several people that actually live here and I have since joined them LOL definitely and all around excellent hotel they are on top of everything..

This worst experience ever. The property was no clean and it smelled foul. We had no option but to stay as we could not find hotel to move to. We had 2 other softball families that left this hotel when checking in do to all of the above. One family found torn up couch in their room and a bullet hole in head board. Even employee said they totally understood why they wouldn’t want to stay there. I still can’t believe I paid money to stay there.

Not terrible but not great. We ended up buying a cheap wet mop and cleaning the floors in our room because our feet kept sticking to the floor and turning gray/brown. Took 4 passes of the mop and 12 wet pads for the floor to finally be clean. It was nice to be able to cook for ourselves during our stay and that saved a lot in food.

Room was nasty and had dust everywhere, all over lamps and on walls. There was food splattered all over the kitchenette area. A hair clip was on the lamp next to the bed. An orange gooey residue was all over the ceiling. Visible dirt on the floor and after walking in the room barefoot, my feet were stained brown. Sink didn’t drain in the bathroom. Elevator had what appeared to be dog poop on the walls and smelled terrible. Carpets in the hallways visibly dirty. Slept on top of the sheets. Will definitely never stay here again. This place should be shut down.

Quaint facilities.

I don't know America Extended Stay at all. This was first experience. I wouldn't call this a hotel (which I expected and signed up for). It's intended for people visiting (working) in the area for a while. This would be a different crowd from travellers at a hotel. This was an initial surprise. With that, you do have a kitchen. But note that there aren't any items, utensils or pans stocked in the kitchen. Empty cupboards. So, it was basically useless. There is a frig. But clean and comfortable and parking are important and were definitely here. Thank you!

front of the entrance a few drunk people were standing. it was not safe at all. The room stinks a lot, and upstairs people are making noise walking, next door, people are banging on the wall.

Absolutely disgusting. Never, ever again.

We stay in studio room. They show its kitchen available. When we went to hotel room. There is not pans, cups and coffee maker. They don’t have shampoo, lotion and conditioner. We are asking them everytime give us these things. Breakfast is really bad.
