Staff were nice
The room was a freezing concrete room. There was dried blood on the roof and mould around the furnishings. The door curtain didn’t close properly and let in light from people going in and out all night with music blaring.

Affordable
Very run down

Awesome staff. Very helpful
Old owner left our clean towels for next day and new owners took them away so had no towels

Good communication pre- arrival;
Good size comforable room & adequate facilities.
Impersonal arrival & departure service, but did manage to talk to propriator on arrival and obtain local information by knocking on locked office door.
Are unmanned reception offices par for the course in th South Island?

I didn't stay at the Aaron Court Motel as I received a message to contact Booking.com the day I was to arrive telling me that everybody was cancelled, due to a family emergency. I could absolutely understand this - but the relatives I was due to meet there had booked directly with the motel by phone, and they received NO notification of cancellation at all! We rebooked with two different motels and at each motel, we were told that this is not uncommon with the Aaron Court. What is going on there?

This motel text to say it was closed due to family circumstances the night before l was due to stay.
I booked another motel that said they have had customers say they were booked and told they were shut due to storm damage. The other motel said Aron Court has been shut for 18 months! So why are they still advertising?
Booking.com was uncontactable regarding this.
Phone numbers wouldn't work.

Location ... on main road but still easily accessible.
Catered for my needs.
Staff friendly.
To have a cooktop, but was reasons why.

We had the studio unit at the rear of the premises, it was comfortable and quiet. Car parking right outside door, very convenient. Very clean and presented well.
Could not get the television to operate. No visitors book for comments.
3.4
The simplicity and quiet.
The hand basin in the bathroom was too small to be usable

Was really clean and tidy, older style motel but still very comfortable. Excellent helpful owners.
Was perfect for us travelling on Motorbikes and had a open Garage to park bikes in overnight

They offered to upgrade us to a larger unit but warned us it was about to be overhauled. So although it was rather sad and dilapidated, it was beautifully large and spacious with lovely views of Caroline Bay and a park.
The host was very friendly and helpful. He provided us with a mini glass bottle of milk and lots of local knowledge.
There was a full sized fridge/freezer and a full oven too. Even a 4 slice toaster and a definitely non-stick frypan.
There was free undercover parking which was easy to access.
Sheets, towels etc were perfect.
Water was hot and a there was a good shower.
Considering we were upgraded for free and were warned, we disregarded the shabbiness. I'm sure the overhaul will look lovely.
The only drawback was the rather steep driveway. But there was plenty of room to turn around on the flat area at the bottom.

it’s was clean

It was really close to a beautiful big park the kids played at
The manager has several issues that needs addressing, though she did mention hotel was for sale... I think that's best because she's not suited for management .

What did we like about our stay? The room was clean - but that should be a given. The beds were really comfortable and the shower was good too. It was nice to see that the room had recently been renovated but it felt unfinished.
Location was fine but we had the closest room to the main road and it was very noisy day and night. We had expectations of being able to sit out on a balcony enjoying the sunshine at the end of the day, however there was no balcony and we were tucked away under the building. The walls were very thin and we looked out over the apartment block next door.
The housekeeping had a lot to be desired - towels, teatowels, dishclothes etc removed one day and not replaced. The teatowel we did eventually receive smelt very bad, as did the towels. Of the five nights we stayed only once did we get a thorough service - there was no service on the last day/night we stayed.
The bathroom was small and there was nowhere to put anything, and the sofa was in the main bedroom which didn't make any sense.

We had no cups in the room for a morning cup of tee. We’re we to drink tea from bowls or wine glasses!
I paid extra for flat screen tv but we never had a remote so couldn’t even watch the tv. Very disappointing as it was Christmas Eve and we wanted to watch something Christmas themed.
