Fantastic balcony. Saw many stars and 12 whales

Unexpectedly beautiful property - an amazing property for families. On the Sonoma Coast / Mendocino Coast there are so few places for families - this is an excellent gem.

Place was truly incredible. Worth every penny. I wish we could have stayed longer. Amazing views, friendly staff, wonderful amenities (the walking paths and pacific does most of the heavy lifting). It was truly special.

My stay started off badly with a small "standard" room with spiral staircase and I booked a Timber Cove room. Hotels.com choices did not show a small standard room with tiny loft. I requested an upgrade or different room. I am VIP but nothing offered, and their website said they had rooms available. My next tiny standard room overlooked the roof and had a mattress on the floor and also a problem with the door lock. The Manager did not apologize or offer a free breakfast or a room upgrade. Based on the room this is a 1 start but the grounds, hiking, views made it a medium score. I paid a lot of money for a crap room. Hotels.com should adjust their Timber Cove photos accordingly.

I really love this place. The GM (name escapes me) sets the tone. Staff is great. Friendly and professional. I wish they had a pool and/or hot tub and stairs down to a beach. It’s tough, rocky, beautiful shoreline. Just a gorgeous property.

Finally had the opportunity to stay at this absolutely stunning property. Well-appointed, thoughtful rooms. Gorgeous main space and excellent bar and restaurant. Fire pits and seating scattered about to have private time or encourage conversation, as desired. Waves crashing, seals barking, California coast dream. Room directly above the fire pit was not quite as private as it could have been, but was still lovely. I have a big bruise from knocking my arm into the loop for the "do not disturb" sign outside the door. :(

There is no doubt that the property that is timber cove is just spectacular. Staff is exceptional but rooms are small unless you go for ocean view and then the price value is questionable. Rooms need to be freshened up after ten years. Don’t think of it as a resort in the true sense of the word

The location of the resort can’t be beat. Gorgeous ocean views all around. Direct access to wonderful short, hiking trails with great perches to stop, sit, and take in the amazing views. The original architecture of the main lobby and bar with exposed California Redwood is stunning. While the rooms have a functional, modern design, they are clearly showing where and tear. It’s likely time for a refresh. Be cautious of rooms 40 through 44 as they are underneath the main patio and you can hear absolutely every movement above them. If you’re sensitive to noise, definitely avoid. The beds are incredibly comfortable with great linens , but towels are ready to be replaced.

Timbercove is a very special place in a very special location. It's northern California funky, yet special. Hike up to the lookout or down to watch the seals and seabirds by the ocean.

An amazing property with a super friendly staff and great food! The views of the ocean are incredible. We wish we had been able to stay longer. Don’t hesitate - book this place if you can!!

Beautiful stay. Great staff and location

The resort is one of the nicer ones in the area, the front staff was super nice and upgraded our room to ocean view for a fair discount. Our original room had the bed in a loft and a hike down some loft type stairs to the bathroom... it would not have worked for us. The restaurant overpriced but then what isn't these days. The biggest complaint was the mattress was so saggy and old it was seriously the worst I've ever seen. They just put a pad on top to hide that fact. so for that alone it ruined the stay.

This room was represented as handicappable. It is not. No grab bars, no roll in shower, too small for wheelchair maneuvers. The carpet in the living room is a trip hazard. There’s no microwave. No replenishing of cups, glasses, etc.

Amazing property, I loved going there for a staycation. Just wanted to relax and enjoy some time with my husband for our anniversary. Calm and quiet, with great staff. Will be back

Very unique place with a retro feel. Loved that each room has a record player and a propane warming stove. Only way it could be a cooler place is if they had a pool.

Beautiful view

It was beautiful but the hidden fees were a lot. For one small dog, it was $150.00 for the two days, and the resort fee was $35 daily. It did not offer anything for a resort fee (pool, Spa, hot tub, doggie spa...haha). I don't mind paying but you have to be upfront when you post places like this. I pre-paid but could have stayed in another place with the extra fees. This was a big turn-off for me.

Issues with WiFi and TV. No separate temp control for room (but they did provide a fan when asked).

Timber Cove is a peaceful rest overlooking the ocean. With beautiful views and good food.

Wonderful hotel on the north coast. Everything was great. The room was very comfortable, quiet and had a nice deck and beautiful ocean view. Given its isolated location it was perfect for a very relaxing and romantic getaway. The restaurant has a beautiful ocean view, great food, friendly and accommodating staff. Wonderful remote property with ocean view hikes, lots of games, dog friendly, and very peaceful

The service was fine but the room was in pretty rough contrition… dead bugs on the ceiling, big spiders, melted chocolate on the floor and rug, rug was ripped and tattered, walls and ceilings were dirty, shelf in bathroom was broken and couldn’t hold the soap and shampoo bottles stationed on it… my family and I have been visiting this hotel for 7+ years and the room quality has gone down significantly while the price has gone up :( sad to see… also, they did not provide the “free” bottle of wine included with the stay

Fantastic place. Amazing cliffside views. Sea lions frolicking in the waves. Wished we could have stayed longer and just watched the ocean all day.

Cool place to stay and hang out!

Our stay was truly wonderful in every way. What a cozy gem on the Sonoma coast! The decor was chic and rustic, the grounds were stunning, the views were incredible, and the food and drinks were top notch. Literally

The atmosphere and remoteness of Timer Cove Resort was one of the main reasons I am giving a 5 star, of course along with the great dining, and fantastic staff! Our room was really comfy with it's own fire heater. It really felt like the getaway that we needed. Thanks Timber Cove!
