The room was large and spacious. We booked a family room so we could have 2 beds. It had a kettle, air conditioning unit and fan. It was clean with fresh bedding. Good location and near to our favourite Spa run by Shanti.

We didn’t have any hot water, it went cool within a few minutes. We checked in, gave all our visa and passport information. When we returned, I had a message to pay for the room. I went straight to the girl on reception and gave the credit card I had used to confirm my booking. She said they only accept cash and I should check my booking, rather abruptly ! I only had English money so I said I would change it or find a cash machine. I got the cash and returned only to be told she had gone home and I would have to wait until morning. I checked my booking confirmation and it said the property accepted both cash and card payment! I woke up to more messages to pay for our 2 night stay. I went down with the proof and emphasised that we wouldn’t go without paying - she was not interested in the booking form and said rupees only. I insisted on a receipt for the cash which she reluctantly did. The breakfast menu was not great and it appeared to be all for the Indian visitors. We decided to check out and booked another hotel in Anjuna. She looked rather shocked at this and I certainly wouldn’t give her the satisfaction of saying no if I requested a part refund. Would not stay again.

Rooms AC wasnt working as expected. Water leakage. Restaurant service was missing due to which, wr had to travel a lot for small things

A good stay

Location - Ayurveda therapy opposite - excellent. Supermarket next door and De Souzas restaurant one minute away. Recommend the taxi service at De Souzas too. Local people are very welcoming and friendly.TV had Netflix etc

Mattress was a good size but the bed frame was actually king size mismatch.

Would recommend to avoid at all cost. Our stay was marked by a sexual assault and attempted rape of my partner taking place within the property, behind closed gates and inside our private room. Management also did not assist or help during and after the incident and did not cooperate with the police wile claiming the cameras installed were not working. That in addition to the fact that staff members were the only ones to know about her being alone in her room lead to the conclusion that a member of staff was involved and that management decided its easier to cover it up rather then seek justice.

Breakfast was really amazing!

Well the location of the resort was fabulous. Its very nearer to the Mandrem sea beach. Quite and calm place within greenery all around. I stayed for 1 day but believe me it was worth. I will recommend everyone to stay at Mandrem Retreat Beach Resort.
