This is the second time we have stayed at the property and once again it was such a relaxing time with the amazing outside space the location is truly special.

We had a wonderful time in Northport and this property was so charming! It is very unique, warm, cozy and met all of our needs and then some. The views and ambiance of the property are exceptional. Each morning we had coffee on the dock watching the birds and boats come and go. Janine was a delight to deal with. Thanks again Janine.

Our hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, proactively reaching out to see if we needed anything. The property was in a GREAT location, very clean, organized and had everything that we needed. We loved the putting green, being on the water, fire pit and the very cool bar! We’re happy to have found this rental and hope to book again when we are visiting relatives in the area!

The backyard at this cozy cottage is unbeatable. We loved staying here for a weekend away from the city. Northport town is adorable and just 2 short blocks away.

Coming back “home” to the north shore for the first time in a decade was the second best part of our trip. The beautifully renovated boathouse and the property and the location was the best part. Who knew

Secluded little historic boathouse with pictures of the original build in 1898 and if you were not looking for it you wouldn't even know it was there. You can only be seen by the boats passing by in the distance. Very close to all the shops in town. Nice and clean. Bonus was the chipping AstroTurf around the green and the cool shed bar outside.

A great stay at this fantastic location!! The main cottage is fabulous. The kitchen is really well appointed and stocked and the outdoor table is a great place to enjoy a few drinks, listen to music on the sound system and watch the sunset over the water. And the bar is fantastic.

We spent three nights at the Boathouse and wished it had been longer. As others have commented the view was just spectacular and the boathouse had all we needed. It was clean and very well equipped. Steve and Janine were helpful and always quick to respond. We found plenty of places to eat just minutes walk away and a supermarket was a short drive. We stayed in a number of hotels and holiday homes during our time in the US but the stay in the Boathouse was the one that we enjoyed the most.

Owners take great pride and care of this special place. Everything was clean, well thought out and perfect for a short stay. Great communication with owners. Many steep steps to get actual vrbo.

Property was perfect. Such a quaint little cottage with an amazing view with outdoor comforts. Interesting history of the property. Close to coffee, bakery, restaurants, shopping.... etc. Definitely was not ready to leave.

When the photos of a property are as good as these, it's easy to wonder what the catch is. There is no catch! The boathouse and the bar are exactly as pictured and the 5 star reviews are well deserved. Sparkling clean, cozy, well-provisioned, and ideal location. Hosts were uber-responsive and kind. I hosted a 5 person dinner party one night and my guests all asked the same question - how did you find this place?! Steps from town with plenty of shops, restaurants, etc., but also quiet and serene if that's what you need. A worthwhile splurge that I look forwad to repeating.

Threw a small get together for my wife’s 40th and everyone loved it including my wife! The pictures are 100% accurate! You don’t even feel like you are on Long Island staying there! This most likely will not be the last time we stay there. Plenty of people who came for my wives party plan on using the same location for future events. So much fun! Highly recommend

Property was such a fun place to visit and stay. The indoor space is on the smaller side but makes up for that with the outdoor space. You can even open up the glass garage door to connect the 2 spaces. Also included is a shed that was converted to a bar (wish I had that at home!). The sunsets are great and its 2 blocks from the center of Northport which is a quaint town that has several nice restaurants and shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage/boathouse and would go back.

This place is adorable and what a view!!! The location is fabulous at the edge of the quaint Northport Village. We just loved our stay. My only suggestion is the addition of a pergola or awning over the patio as it can get quite hot but that's just a suggestion. We loved our stay. Even had extended family over for a BBQ on the last day. We will be back!

This was an absolutely amazing little place to vacation with my spouse and two kids, while we visited my parents who live nearby. Exactly as described. Owners were just great. So amazing to watch sunsets with the family, play mini golf and grill. Got to walk to town a few times and visited places from my own childhood. The town is even more quaint than ever, and super close to the house. Great memories were made - we are excited to come back.

We found this gem while planning a visit with friends who live in Northport. It’s probably the best vacation rental we have ever experienced. The location, views, property and shed bar are SO unique. My husband, 3 year old son, and I stayed for 5 days. We visited our friends but also took daily trips to Northport village, the playground, Hobarts Beach, restaurants, shops, you name it. We also just loved hanging at the property. The dock was beautiful and even had some fishing poles. The fire pit was lit every night and they even provided dry firewood. The shed bar was AMAZING. Stocked with rose, chilled glasses, professional ice machine, Dark n Stormy ingredients, and unique whiskeys. Love that everyone contributes to the cause! It’s perfect for a couple or very small family. We appreciated that the living quarters were upstairs. The entrance is a little hidden and the stairs coming down are steep. Fabulous hosts and property!

I'm now home and still raving about our four nights in the Boat House. We were on LI for a family wedding. I grew up in a neighboring town and was thrilled to find this listing when looking for a rental. It's a tiny slice of heaven in the charming town of Northport. In walking distance to anything you need coffee, restaurant and deli-wise and while the inside space is small (it was myself, my husband and our 13 year old daughter) the outside space, view and overall nautical vibe are why you are staying there. Janine and Steve (who are wonderful) have thought of everything to make your stay convenient and fun. The pictures are accurate. There is plenty of space for three, even four people to sleep upstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals, and the outside bar is a charming, added addition with seating to either eat, work, drink and hang out. I could go on and on about this space, the thoughtful and historical decorations, putting green, kitchen garage door that opens, the beautiful dock, and how much this home added to our fun long weekend away. We will we back. I can only hope there will be availability as this is one special spot.

We had a wonderful time during our boathouse stay in Northport while in town for a sailing event in Centre Island. The cottage was cozy, impeccably clean and authentically renovated; Perfect my husband, son and myself. The views are simply breathtaking and the outdoor space is a perfect place to unwind as was the shed bar during inclement weather. The home is in an ideal location within walking distance to shops and restaurants and the dock access is ideal for water sports. Janine is an excellent host, quickly responsive and attentive. I highly recommend this home and would love to return!

This little peaceful getaway was just what my family needed!! Janine was quick to respond to any question we had and super friendly to work with!! We were visiting family for a celebration of life and we’re able to have the family over for pizza and games and relaxation throughout the weekend! From the time step foot onto the beautiful wood floors and look out at the second-story view of the waterfront docks, you know you’ll never want to leave. Thoughtfully renovated boat house blends modern conveniences with a Hemingway-esque vibe. The kids couldn’t wait to wake up every morning to play put-put golf and sit on the greenway for breakfast. Even though it was still cold out, we loved opening up the garage door to feel the breeze and get the experience of being inside and outside at the same time. The kitchen is well-stocked— everything you need to rustle up a dinner for four. We’d love to visit again. The owners were incredibly communicative and responsive. I You can tell they put a lot of love into the details. Loved it! Wish we could have stayed longer.

We loved our stay at the Boathouse. Everything was perfectly set up inside the house for our stay. Quick walk into the town for shopping and restaurants. The outside really puts the experience over the top! Can’t wait to come back.

This was a great place to stay for a long weekend visit to Northport. Although prime time for this spot is undoubtedly the warmer weather months, it was also perfect for a cold March weekend. Easy walking distance to all Northport has to offer. The boathouse is clean and nicely decorated, the view is spectacular and the bar was so much fun!

This property is pure Long Island magic. I wish we could have stayed longer and will absolutely be coming back. It was like a step back in time, yet every modern convenience is available to you. As a native Long Islander who moved away almost 25 years ago, I rent VRBOs all over the Island. This property is without a doubt one of the best I have ever stayed in. I grew up in Northport and came back recently to visit with family. Due to covid, I wanted to get my own place so I booked this property for a month. It was so lovely, I wanted to extend my stay! The boathouse was perfect and I was able to have a few friends and family members come by periodically to enjoy sitting on the harbor. We grilled several meals together, sat by the fire pit, playing with the putting green, and took advantage of the extra space that the little tool shed converted to a bar offered. I also worked remotely while I was here and it was nice to be able to take breaks from zoom calls and sit outside by the water. Steve and Janine are amazing hosts - they were communicative, friendly, and Steve had some great stories about his journey renovating this beautiful place. Being from the town, I appreciated how they lovingly restored this boathouse and shed to preserve it's history. The location is also wonderful and is a 2 minute walk to Northport Village to enjoy the shops, restaurants, and parks. It was a restful retreat and I can't wait to return!

The property is so wonderful - incredibly clean, beautifully structured and fun creative touches. We loved the seclusion of the private beach area with the ability to walk into Northport any time. We had some of the best meals, listened to live music and enjoyed shopping in town. Going home to our own private bar was a very cool experience. On top of all, the host was incredibly responsive. Fantastic stay!

This property is absolutely perfect. It’s pristine, the owners are friendly and easily accessible, and I’m not kidding when I say it has everything you need. I’m not a person who chooses to walk over drive, and even I was able to walk to town. What a wonderful Main Street. Plenty of places to spend your money. :) The views are gorgeous. I chose this location as a solitary getaway from my hectic life and it was perfect for that. But when I saw all the fun activities I could have done with a group, I knew that would have been awesome also. Janine and Steve, thank you for sharing this wonderful property with me for a few glorious days. I’ll be back for sure!!!

We loved our visit in Northport and our stay in this very unique home right on the harbor. The house had everything we needed and more, and we enjoyed how open everything was to the outside, both the bar and the house. It is peaceful and relaxing, and close to everything at the same time. We will definitely come back!
