Helpful efficient staff and owner. Private parking and walkable into Sheringham which was lovely.

We stayed for 1 night, our room was very nice and a good size. Bed was comfortable, although a little low down, and as we are of a certain age it was slightly difficult getting off it in the morning. Good selection at breakfast, fruit, cereal, yoghurts, croissants, buns, crumpets, toast and assorted jams, all very tasty. About a 10 minute stroll to the shops and sea front.

Mount Lavinia looks a bit unprepossessing from outside: it's above and to the rear of a shop. However, it's comfortable and clean, and the staff are excellent.

A short walk away from Sheringham centre. Room was good and very clean. Excellent shower. We stayed in the Cromer room. Special mention to the lady who works in the shop and looks after the hotel side as well - an absolute credit - nothing was too much trouble and she made the weekend.

The wallpaper in the bathroom was falling off. The bedding looked lovely and clean but on retiring the smell was horrendous, due to the actual pillows and duvet smelling of dirty sweat and greasy hair from continued use without being cleaned. The shower was difficult to get the correct water temperature. We paid £106.00 to stay for one night, this was a rediculous amount to pay for the terrible conditions. The only thing that we can honestly say that was really good was the lady that showed us to our room, she was able to get the door unlocked for us but we were unable to lock it. The light switch was outside of the door for the inner hallway, the neighbouring rooms guests continuously switch the light on and off which caused disturbance whilst trying to sleep. The windows were wide open when we arrived, we realised why this needed to be when we closed the windows to go out, on our return the smell in the room was awful. There was carpet laid over dirty carpets. Seriously would never stay there again.

Very nice lady from the shop below gave us a nice welcome. The property is very convenient for Sheringham town.

Property was ok,a little tired but workable. A bit noisy being so close to the main road, staff were approached and pleasant.good access to sourouding areas, beach and holiday activities.

The room was lush. Very clean and nice view! The only down sides were the invasion of ants in the kitchen. And the two dirty glasses that were given to us for when we stayed there.

Cheap and cheerful, owner very friendly and polite

Room was a little bit small, but had everything we needed - comfy bed, two chairs, table, tea and coffee making facilities, TV. Excellent large bathroom with bath and shower, toilet and basin. Breakfast just right for us, Continental and serve yourself. Staff friendly and helpful. Only small problem was that locking the room was very tricky, hard to lock, until you got used to it.

The windows were not secure. Basic accommodation at a fair price. Very unlikely to revisit.

Never received the pre check in instructions despite e-mailing the owner twice Sunday and saying I would not be contactable because travelling on the Monday, got no response to e-mails and even checked prior to leaving Monday morning - hassle. The room & bathroom wasn't cleaned for the 4 nights I was there, not were any complimentary teabags/coffee/sachets/milk sachets replaced through my stay - in fact the room remained as I left it each day, so clearly no cleaning was done. Breakfast was poor - do it yourself and the quality of the food was poor, including just getting whatever wasn't eaten the day before out the following morning - who knows how long some of the scones, crumpets and croissants had been around. Cheap reformed ham and reformed chicken slices in tupperware containers, very unappetising. Tried some the first morning, didn't repeat the experience and stuck with cereal after that. Not sure I got the room I booked as differs from the photo but room was comfortable enough. No fire evacuation posters anywhere, no fire exit signs - thought these were a legal requirement - no welcome packs in rooms, so no information about anything related to the property, the stay etc etc.

Brilliant B&B in Sheringham. Clean and newly decorated. Great bed. Really nice breakfast. Although it's 'only' continental, it's got a huge variety and choice, we were pleasantly surprised. Although it was self Check-In , there were really friendly hosts during breakfast on both day to show us where things were and clear up. Really recommended .

Good for short break.

Mount Lavinia was OK for a weekend, but we would not have wanted to stay longer. Breakfasts were excellent and included in the price. The man on duty at breakfast-time was helpful. The main problem with a longer stay would be the towels policy. Each guest was given a bath towel and a hand towel. If you wanted another towel the cost was £3 per towel. Our towels remained damp after our first use of them. The system was self check-in and we never saw the owner. My booking with Hotels.com said that I would pay at hotel. When we were leaving I asked about payment. The man on duty at breakfast phoned the owner who said he had taken the payment. For us this was all quite strange, as we normally pay at check-in.

Comfortable spacious room with all of the amenities and extra touches. Easy check in process. Convenient location to downtown and waterfront. Breakfast was lovely, with wide array of choices...fresh fruit, scones, waffles, breads, cheese, cold cuts, etc.

Nice big room, and the en-suite shower was very nice. B&B is on a very busy road, so a lot of traffic noise. The Owner was very friendly.

Exceptionally helpful and accommodating and although we didn’t actually stay for breakfast the food that was set out looked amazing.
