I liked the location but the property needs upkeep

The proprietor of the property was absolutely wonderful! We spoke everyday of my 4 night stay. She even loaned me an umbrella because of all the rain during my stay and I had a day without a rental car. The property IS an older property…and the area is a little lackluster…but the room was very clean, the bedding smelled like it had just been laundered that morning, the bed was comfortable. Downsides…the beach was a little dirty, a lot of trash but there were storms every single day I was there which could account for this…and there did seem to be quite a number of homeless people in the area. Pros, the aquarium, whataburger, the battleship, and a few souvenir shops were well within walking distance if needed. overall good experience for a budget friendly experience

For the price, it was a good stay. Ms Debra, who attended the place, was very kind and bent over backwards to help in any manner she could. Again, it's not the Omni nor the Marriott, but for the price and spur of the moment trip, it was okay.

The owner was amazing and friendly. The hotel itself is older, but the rooms were clean and the ac was cold! Will definitely come back when we take the kids to their next beach trip.

Property is transitioning to new ownership. OYO has done a very poor job w/this property. Outdated plumbing, electrical, room amenities -- back to 1950s. Big PLUS is location close to water & boardwalk. Prop seems to have "good bones." Easy fix w/ enough capital.

This place is a diamond in the rough! Brand new owners that have really turned the place around to make it a memorable experience. The husband and wife that on the place were so accommodating! We loved our stay and loved our room. It had everything you would expect and after having a bad experience the previous night at another location this was a blessing. Can't wait to come back and make more memories. If you're looking for a great budget-friendly hotel this is it!

The staff was very informative and friendly. She offered places to eat/things to do. Very personable and welcoming!

The staff was friendly the the hotel itself is in bad shape. Very old. And we had a great view of a giant dumpster. There was also sketchy people in the room next to us. We asked for a room with a kitchenette, and we got a tiny stove, which the oven didn't work and a tiny refrigerator that didn't get cold. Considering it was pretty cheap, and if you don't plan onstaying in the room much it may work out for you. But we will never syay there again.

Very friendly

I booked hotel several months ago and got to the window to check in around 11pm. They said they cancelled my reservation even though it was still active on hotels.com. They said I could still stay there but for double what I initially paid! This place should be shut down. I had two kids under 6 in my car and asked them if they would really put a single dad and 2 kids out without anywhere to stay and they said YES if you don’t pay what we ask! Luckily hotels.com got us relocated for the night but it wasn’t until 1am because there was very little availability being spring break. On a side note, when I gave them my phone for hotels.com to verify what I told them they proceeded to tell and raise their voice to them as well. They should not be allowed to be in this business. I just hope people read this as a warning to book somewhere else for their stay. What a nightmare

The room was clean, my husband and I slept really well. The air conditioner was working pretty good because I got cold so I had to get into my pajama pants and I wore my hoodie to bed. My husband made fun of me. Otherwise I would recommend people to stay at this motel. It's under new management and they are fixing it up the lady said.

Ive stayed here twice and think it has character. Its not a 5 star hotel buf ita cute and comfortable. The beach is right behind it and the new owners are sweet and helpful. The previous owners didnt take care of the place but the new owners want to do better and you can tell theyre trying. Easy check in and out, no deposit fee and no issues with price. Its affordable for the quality. Parking is easy and its away from the loudness of corpus christi. Over all, 4 out of 5 for us.

The hotel's proximity to the beach made the Budget Inn very appealing. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. I would definitely stay again.

Good location close to some of the main attractions , walking distance to the water and 10 minutes drive to grocery stores and other shopping necesites !
