Enjoyed our stay! Made some great memories

The cottage was so comfortable and nice to stay in. We had a great time with our two teenage children and our two dogs. Family game night, comfortable seating areas, and lots of available activities. Our hosts were kind in all communications. Highly recommended!

Just spent a great week at this cottage on a small Haliburton lake. The cottage was ideal - quite big, clean and quiet. Sunshine on the dock early and late with a a bit of shade around noon. Lots of water sport equipment.

Nice clean cottage. Bedrooms nicely furnished with newer furniture. The bathroom has super water pressure and is clean. The kitchen has all newer appliances including a microwave and is stocked with basics which is appreciated. Having the option of a Keurig with pods or full pots of coffee is lovely. Living-room has three zones. One area for watching TV on two huge comfy couches. A small private work area and another area with a table and two rocker type chairs all of them overlook the lake. There were games and books available. The outside covered porch has a BBQ and a gate preventing small kids or dogs from escaping. It was nice having the use of the sports equipment which were in good condition. The dock was new and had nice deck and Adirondack chairs. There were a few surprises. The close proximity of lake neighbors given listing images.It was a noisy location. We would not have rented if we had been aware of the density of homes. The neighbor next door was doing construction on the shoreline less than 50’ away, and their dogs barked constantly inside or out dogs, while outside of host control, it was not relaxing. The AC is a stand unit in the kitchen. It doesn’t cool the house. The bedrooms are hot for sleeping. The other is a very steep & narrow driveway requires caution especially on the way out. The host emailed prior to checkin and said a 4 wheel drive was required or parking was at the top. It added $1200 to the stay renting a SUV not appreciated.

Our family had a lovely time at Long Lake Hideaway Cottage. Having the option of a kayak, canoe, and pedal boat was great. On the couple of rainy days we experienced, we appreciated that we had the choice of being indoors or sitting outside either on the covered patio or on the deck facing the lake. The kitchen is well-equipped and has a large fridge. We found the beds and living room sofas to be comfortable. The living room and dining room are combined and quite spacious. The A/C and Wi-Fi worked well. We appreciated that the hosts welcome dogs. Haliburton is only 10 minutes away where there is a grocery store, ice cream shop, pharmacy, and restaurants. The town also has a very large and fun playground for the kids (it even has a zipline!). The nearby farmers' markets that happen a few times a week were fun to visit. We also checked out and would recommend a visit to the Hawk Lake Log Chute and the Haliburton Skyline Park (an amazing view).

What a fabulous experience from the very first connection with our host. Everything was absolutely what I was looking for with a week away to unwind and relax. This wonderful cottage has everything you could possibly need. We took a trip into town, experiencing stunning views and wildlife along the way. We also visited the nearby sculpture forest, and the farmers market in town. I’d highly recommend visiting this beautiful gem of a cottage , it truly is a slice of heaven. Hosts Noreen and Jeff have a little piece of Heaven on Long Lake. We were looking for a quiet relaxing environment and that is exactly what we received. They provide all the comforts of home and also maps of the surrounding areas, and are a wealth of knowledge of the best places to eat or to get that unforgettable, to die for, dessert. And if you ever have any questions, they are very easy to get ahold of. They even accept furbabies, so they too can "zen out" to the atmosphere of Long Lake Hideaway!
