Clarendon Cottage is a very old, quirky, interesting property in a beautiful area of Enfeild. We loved Gentlemans Row, just a little walk from Enfeild Town Train Station.
The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of cereals, yogurts, toast, fruit juice and drinks provided for breakfast- on a 'help your self' basis.
We would have liked to have met the host. It felt a little strange staying in Bens house and not meeting him.

Clarendon Cottage is a gorgeous period property full of charm. It is perfectly located for an easy trip into London, and is a lovely, comfortable place to stay. Ben is a friendly and approachable host. Having the front garden looking so beautiful in the May sunshine was an added bonus!

Excellent location, historic house, comfortable bedroom with luxury bedding.
But breakfast was serve yourself and minimal (eg porridge sachets needed warm milk so not suitable offering) and not clear whether dirty dishes were to be washed up by us or not (at 10pm they were still on breakfast table). We washed them in our tiny sink but when we went to breakfast next morning there were clean dishes laid out. Needs some clarity re housekeeping in general. Otherwise no complaints.

Lovely property; everything we needed was provided (even a HWB!) and Ben provided superb detail and directions. Really comfortable room and bed, a heater for the unexpectedly cold snap, we’d had a dismally long drive and it was great to just collapse and relax!
There really want anything to dislike -almost every eventuality seemed to be provided for and, although I only communicated with Ben by text, you have the feeling he’d step in to help if there was a problem.

It is a beautifully appointed Georgian home that is very stylish and comfortable. We didn’t meet the host, but he provided clear instructions ahead of our arrival and was always available if we had questions.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful and the decor is exceptional. The hosts made us feel very welcome and went over and beyond to satisfy our needs. Cannot wait to stay again, and enjoy this most stunning home.

Very cosy and homey house, warm host with good advice. Beautiful, green and quiet surrounding. Perfect with kids and perfect location for example for Arsenal stadium and Stansted airport (by car).

Clarendon Cottage is the oldest house in Enfield and a place of both literary and historic merit, as Charles and Mary Lamb stayed here. It was beautifully appointed, exquisitely furnished and carefully restored by its current owners. Ben is a wonderful and gracious host. The rooms were immaculately presented and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed having our own sitting room, as well, and appreciated the freshly baked bread and coffee. It was truly a privilege staying in such an extraordinary house and we highly recommend it. It’s an incredible, once in a lifetime experience.

Ben was very welcoming, i was staying for a family funeral and Ben organised an Uber for me,he was very helpful.
No breakfast left out or offered the two days i was there which i was under the impression was part of the price of the stay. Very disappointed. Ruined what would have been a perfect stay.

Stunning property in the conservation area, surrounded by beautiful cottage gardens. One of a number of centuries-old residencies in this prestigious and beautifully-kept, quiet corner of town. A true piece of history. The hosts were wonderful, warm and catered to our needs perfectly. 100% will re-book and recommend to friends and family.
If you love a quiet, quaint and picturesque residence, set along leafy pathways, experiencing a piece of history, then this cottage is for you. If you want a modern, glossy, chrome-filled box, go elsewhere!
