The property was cute, but it was not well maintained.

Where to start. First of all, I had to contact the property to get my entry instructions the night before we went because we were promised an email 24-48 hours prior, and it was 9pm the night before and we still hadn’t received anything. We got there, the outdoor trash can was overflowing. Not a great start. When we entered the property, I went to use the bathroom, and pulled the “sanitized for your safety” paper ribbons off of the sink and the toilet, there was toothpaste spit all over the backsplash from previous tenants, and when I lifted the toilet cover, there was actual urine on the seat, so clearly the ribbons are just for show. Also, there was toilet paper in the toilet as if someone had used it and not flushed. Whatever, I went to use the bathroom, the toilet wouldn’t flush. I opened the tank, tried to manually flush the toilet, nothing. Then tried to wash my hands, NO RUNNING WATER. I immediately called the property 3 times, no answer. Then texted- “there’s no running water in the house” finally received a call back. He says he has to call his business partner. My partner and I start looking for other lodgings, as it is now 6pm on Saturday and we need a place to stay with actual working facilities. I make a non refundable deposit on another hotel, and then as we are driving to pick up dinner and head that way, the owner calls us back and says the water had been shut off for maintenance and they are sending someone out to restore it. I told him that this was honestly not really believable at now almost 7pm on a Saturday. He swore it was true so we picked up our food and turned around. We tried to get settled while waiting for the water to come back on. The tv on the living area didn’t work, so we had to move a tv from one of the bedrooms into the living room to watch tv. What a nightmare. Almost 2 hours later, the water was running. Finally. The second owner assured us we would be accommodated for the inconvenience, and we would be refunded.
