Location, friendly staff, comfy bed and nice breakfast
Needs a bit of TLC the curtains were hanging off and poor lighting in room.
Overall needs a spruce up👍

Great location, lovely reception area, really friendly staff, tasty breakfast.
Our room was tiny weeny with a grim view. We weren't there much so it didn't matter too much.

The staff were absolutely lovely, and went above and beyond. The location was perfect and the building is beautiful with lots of character. Complimentary water in the room. It was great to have car parking on the premises, one of the reasons we booked here. Breakfast was delicious.
No food availability in evening when we were there, despite cheerful sign out side offering it. Apparently coming soon, but best to withdraw sign until actually available. After checking with bar staff, we had arrived early enough to have been in the food time-slot had it been on - so not sure why sign was left outside (possibly to encourage hungry hopefuls to get a drink instead!)

The staff were amazing and good to have a little chat.

Beautiful old hotel with lots of original features.
Room was quite small and cars directly outside the windows.

Was a nice building.
Was stated there was a bath on the room to find out it was just a basic shower, the bed was filthy under the sheets and rooms are tiny.
3.9
Was a nice cheap old hotel
3.9
Old historic building with a lot of potential however lacked atmosphere and ambience the owners are clearly not understanding the hospitality industry
Rude staff that was unwilling to make guests feel relaxed, this property was the only one with room available within 20 miles of Nottingham due to test match I can see why now it is a very poor standard for the price point and I would advise other travellers to stick with chain hotels as you will get more for your money.

Breakfast was ok nice staff
Small rooms No restaurant for evening meal
Bar had no variety of drinks
Shabby looking interior
No mattress protecter just a sheet

Fabulous grand old building very central to the city centre. Parking on the forecourt of the hotel if you're lucky as there's only 4 spaces.
Breakfast was very poor, I recommend that the you walk 5 mins around the corner to Wetherspoons! I will if I stay here again.
Bed had a very saggy mattress which was uncomfortable which is a shame as I liked the room.

Slight hiccup on arrival but all problems quickly dealt with and very honest with updates and answers. Property recently changed hands and I look forward to a return visit as I was very impressed with the standard and vision of management. Thank you for the courtesy shown.

Beautiful building
Had booked a double room but on arrival was told we had booked a small junior room and asked for my passport to check in. They then said oh we can upgrade you to a double room but when we got to our room was still a small junior. The staff are completely clueless. Our friends had also booked direct with hotel and paid but they had no room for them they had to wait 45 minutes for the manager then eventually got a room.
The stairs on way down were flooded from the rain but they were still open to use no signs to warn you they really should have blocked them off.
Breakfast was self serve for cereals and toast and was fresh coffee and juice. You had to order tea and cooked breakfast which took about 30mins to arrive. Dirty tablecloth’s and cutlery and cups not on table. Breakfast was ok but if I was paying £10 I would not of been very impressed. The service was not the best. Ashame as it is a beautiful hotel but the management completely let it down.

The hotel had been recently taken over by a new team. The first 3 rooms they took me to were not ready - but they were so kind and apologetic, and found me a room ASAP. They had a wifi issue - this was essential for a meeting the next day, and they moved a router outside my room to ensure I could log in. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was cooked to order, great food and service. Location amazing.
Parking was paid by me, on street. The hotel has 3-4 spaces, occupied by staff I think. The walls needed a lick of paint in communal areas (reception, hallway, staircase), but the room was great.

Very acceptable English breakfast.
Central location in a very walkable city.
Bar facilities were a bit “raw” as the new management team were new into the hotel.
The shower wasn’t terribly easy to control.

The room was comfortable and the staff were very helpful
Despite being given a password for the WiFi on my second day I could still not access the WiFi. I was travelling for work so this meant I had to limit my time in the hotel in order to access WiFi at work.

Returning to it's former glory?
What an incredibly beautiful building, in an even better location.
The staff are passionate and approachable. The rooms are very comfortable.
I felt welcome, but also had an appropriate level of privacy.
Breakfast was delicious - the best mushrooms I have ever eaten, and they were able to provide gluten free bread on request.
There's still some work to do on the building, but I'm confident (and hopeful) that it will continue to improve, and would have no reservations about staying here again.

Thoroughly impressed. The location couldn't have been better - right in the heart of Cathedral Quarter. But what truly stood out was the serene atmosphere. Despite being centrally located, the property offered a surprisingly peaceful retreat from the city noise. Whether I was in my room or relaxing in the common areas, the quiet ambiance was a welcome surprise. Perfect for those seeking both convenience and tranquillity during their travels.
There was not a single thing I disliked about the property. The location was superb, offering convenience without sacrificing tranquillity. From the cleanliness to the amenities, everything was impeccable.
