My husband and I truly enjoyed every moment in this beautiful home! Despite it being cooler outside than we hoped, the weather did not interrupt the peaceful setting and the beautiful sunsets! The property was fully equipped in the kitchen and there were beach chairs and umbrellas etc for outdoor activities as well! A great spot for the entire family to have a fun beach experience.

The home is perfect. Way more beautiful than the pictures online depict. The kitchen is well appointed, the beds are comfortable and the upstairs living area is simply magnificent. If you want rest, relaxation or family fun, this is the place. The island is not yet fully operational. That’s the one negative. We cooked everything night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wonderful stay. Great for children. We hope to return soon!

Absolutely stunning sunsets and plenty of beach directly in front of house. We have stayed on the island several times and this was by far the most enjoyable. The house is perfect with everything you need for a perfect vacation.

This is the third time I have stayed in this house. It is a wonderful home and the best spot on the island!! It sits on a beautiful stretch of beach and beside the runway!! Always my first choice!! The inside is so nice and the outside seating is wonderful!! LOVE IT!!

Not very accommodating to your needs.Also serves at the pool and restaurant bar area were not helpful to visitor's focused more on the locals. It was a discussion that everyone was having that was there on vacation hanging out around the pool waiting on food and drinks. We needed a late check out at 12 instead of 9 they were not having it. We found the boat rentals and store for shopping to be great they were very friendly and helpful seemed happy to have your business unlike the restaurant bar area.

My family and I loved our vacation at Flip Flops. Everything was better than described! I’m so happy my family got to experience the laid back atmosphere and totally relax just steps from the beach. Shally’s was amazing with step by step instructions, getting our grocery order and delivering it, and helping us rent an additional golf cart. Everything you needed was already at the property to cook and clean, play, and relax next to the ocean. Loved all the wildlife as well!

Truly a spectacular getaway. Secluded Island living at its best with shell roads and no cars but gorgeous and comfortable home. We did not want for anything. Felt like Abacos in the Bahamas with its rustic charm. The food delivery service is quite convenient, and I highly recommend having the groceries provisioned prior to your arrival. Sea turtles nested at night and the beaches were white and pristine.

Where do I begin.. the experience was everything we could’ve asked for from the day we stepped onto the island to the day we left. We’ve stayed at several homes in north captiva and this house had the best views of the gulf and the closest to the water (panoramic views from the moment you stepped foot in the living area). the home was wonderfully remodeled after the storm and had everything you could possibly need. Charles the owner even ensured there would be no construction going on on nearby homes as the island is still going through reconstruction from hurricane Ian. Charles also coordinated for a wonderful chef (chef Billy) to come and cook us dinner at the house once we got to the island that was absolutely delicious. We had the most peaceful time with our two sons and would definitely stay here or at one of Charles island homes again as he was a wonderful host. My wife even forgot her iwatch at the house which the property managers shipped back to us within a few days. Highly recommend!

We just spent a week on North Captiva Island and Flip Flops was the perfect house and location. This was a first trip to the island for my family and I and it was amazing. I was traveling with my husband and our 5 and 7 year old daughters. The property managers were helpful in providing all the links we needed to get a car service, best ferry to use, and had someone meet us at the dock to help with luggage and provide our golf cart. We used Debbie to shop our groceries/beverages and Yvena had them stocked upon our arrival - amazing service and worth every penny not to worry about bringing your own! The house perfect - stocked with lots of towels, beach chairs, sand toys, and more. The wrap around decks were amazing. I loved waking up each morning to catch the sunrise on the east side of the third level deck. But the best was the amazing sunsets - we watched from the beach most nights, but was just as gorgeous from the decks of course. The bedroom level decks are screened in - perfect - my girls sat our there every morning for breakfast! We saw dolphins from the house daily - so fun - and loved taking walks to collect seashells. The Flip Flops Sandbar area was amazing. My girls' absolutely loved the swings and we ate many meals under there in the shade. Great that the kids could play there in the sand when they needed a break from the sun. We took some golf cart rides to explore the island (amazing seeing the progress they have already made after such devastation), checked out the island manatee's, and took a few dips in the club pool at Mangos. We can't say enough good things about Flip Flops and North Captiva Island. We certainty didn't want to leave and would love to come back someday!

Logistics of getting to North Captiva can be a little challenging but it really is a special place. We really enjoyed Flip Flops…layout of the house was perfect for our group, was clean, and had everything we needed. We all loved eating dinner while watching the sun set each night. Highly recommend Captiva generally and this property specifically!

Best house on the beach! My young family and I stayed here for a week from 3/18 to 3/25. We learned upon arrival we were the first guests since Ian. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Everything has been redone and it is furnished for comfort and is beautiful—better than the pre-Ian photos online. There were many nice touches including an excess of beach towels and linens, and an old school video game table my kiddos loved. The views are *unbelievable*. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and one of the best and most relaxing vacations I have taken in my life. We were nervous about coming to the island post Ian. We did have to drive past some FEMA workers to get to the pool, and there are homes on the island still under construction, but once we were at the property all that fell away (couldn’t even hear it) and we just felt like we were in paradise. The property manager and owner were fantastic and really bent over backwards to make sure had everything we needed. Highly, highly recommend!

The house was in a great location, the beach access was the best. The house was prepared with all the activities for kids. The staff responded super fast and brought me some medicine from mainland drugstore the following day which made the stay in the island very confortable.

We had a great time and we’re really pleased with how well Jenn and Yvena communicated with us. The house was amazing, such a great location and so much to do. I hope we can come back sooner than later.

My family and I stayed at Flip Flops recently for a long awaited reunion - our adult kids live all over the country and we were finally all able to be together. Flip Flops was perfect for us. I have to say, I was a little nervous before coming, reading the previous reviews and had been communicating with Jennifer about my concerns. I had no reason at all to worry ! The house was extremely clean, fresh linens, fully stocked and clean kitchen, full size washer and dryer and an abundance of beach towels and clean beach toys outside. You have to remember that this is an island and it is going to have insects and sand - that is part of nature. We had so much fun having happy hour on the bar swings, watching the sunset from the screened in porch, playing paddle games, inner tubing. We even say sea turtles being hatched right by the house ! We took an excursion to Cabbage Key, had lunch and saw some dolphins. We bought a $75 membership to North Captiva Island Club and used their kayaks, saw manatees and swam in the pool twice. Logistically, we did take the Island Girl Taxi from the airport, stopped at Publix to pick up food I had ordered on Instacart. We missed the lastPine Island ferry to North Captiva because our flight was delayed so we had to hire their private ferry (which was pricy) to get us and our food / luggage to the house. Yvena and her team were helpful and responsive for transportation to and from the house. We had a great , relaxing vacation and our adult kids (30-21 years old) expressed repeatedly how grateful they were for such a relaxing trip; they really needed to decompress and Flip Flops was the perfect spot.

Absolutely Amazing place in paradise.

We knew when booking this property that it wasn’t a “luxury” property, but with the price, we feel like we deserved to stay in a clean property. The listing is correct when it says that you are 20 steps away from the water, but what they don’t tell you is that the side of the property that doesn’t have another property is where everyone from the island comes and parks their golf carts to set up chairs, tent, umbrellas all over the back of your property. The property management company was very responsive anytime we had a question. The restaurant’s on the island were terrible and extremely overpriced. The adult beverages tasted like water. Bring everything you can because the food mart is 3-4 times more expensive than a regular grocery store. Like other guests have said, the sulfur smell is enough to make you sick. Your clothes even smell strongly of sulfur after washing them. We will definitely not be returning to this property.

The location is amazing! Literally steps from the ocean is what made this paradise. However, there are cons to this property. I should point out, we received notice a few weeks before our arrival, the owners switched property management companies. This was also our first trip to the island. Upon arrival, the property management team was waiting for us at a different harbor. We unloaded from our boat and waited 15 minutes for them to arrive. When we went to leave, the property management company was 20 minutes late picking us up even after I text the day before to confirm what time they would arrive. We splurged and sent our grocery list to the property management company (the new one) 2 weeks before our arrival so that our groceries would be there before we arrived to the island. Unfortunately, several of our items did not arrive until 2 days later. We cancelled our seafood order because after being on the island for 2 days, we received a text from Yvena stating she didn’t know where to get the seafood we had ordered. As many have mentioned, the water smells awful. Imagine you are brushing your teeth with rotten eggs and that’s what you will experience each day. We knew this wasn’t a ‘luxury’ property and that was no problem. What we did have a problem with was the overall uncleanliness of the house. We experienced roaches, ants, bugs and even a rat. We couldn’t clean dishes in the dishwasher as the agitator was on top of the refrigerator. None of the dishes came out clean which probably explains why there were so many dirty dishes in the cabinet. We washed all of our dishes by hand but there was no sink stopper so we had to improvise. There were only 4 washcloths in the entire house. We had plenty of beach towels, chairs and toys which was great. The downstairs bar/swing area was great with the exception of one of the swings breaking on us. The AC on the floor with the bedrooms was not working when we arrived and was fixed right away. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and we had the best seat in the house for them. We named the raccoon in the shower house Ricky the Raccoon and you will see him regularly above the shower house. Overall, we loved the island and the location of the house but wouldn’t stay in this house again due to the uncleanliness and lack of organization by the property management company.

The house and location were both great. The underdeck bar and swings were the best and biggest hit! I will definitely recommend to others snd return myself. The only negative thing was it could have been a little cleaner.
