The Edgewater is a beautiful hotel that has a gorgeous view of the lake from the rooms and restaurant and from the street, the state Capitol. Hotel is clean, elegant and service was excellent.

Outstanding people!! From the staff at check in, to the free shuttle drivers, to the servers at the Boathouse restaurant, the Edgewater shines above everything else in Madison!!

A beautiful property, but just missing the mark I’m being a high-end hotel.
The rooms look like something you get it any Marriott Courtyard, or any other mid-level hotel chain.
The bed was fine. The service was fine, it was just a fine experience.
But looking at the hotel from the outside and the reviews that you read from many others, it should’ve been a much higher experience from my past expectations across the world.

Everything was wonderful. So beautiful and friendly. The bartenders went way and above! Loved them. My only suggestions is you need a sign in your garage parking on how to exit! It says exit (which I guess means exit to the elevator) and we kept going up floors until we finally came back down and figured it out. We seen other people do the same thing! You need to put numerous signs indicating exit out of the garage is on floor 5 on all your levels!

It was a really beautiful property by the water. We enjoyed walking around Madison and the pier, as well as running through campus and the local water front parks. I would recommend this place. However, be warned, even though we didn't use the spa, and our booking through Expedia gave us a free $27 spa credit we were still charged a "Spa Fee/Tax" at checkout. One of those frustrating "gotcha" extra ~$30 experiences that leaves a bad taste in your mouth on your way out the door.
