We've stayed at John Muir hotel in Martinez before and noticed they have done some nice upgrades to the bathroom. We always feel comfortable there and it suits our needs. Unfortunately the elevator wasn't working and we had to carry our luggage upstairs. Thank goodness it was only one floors. The staff is very friendly and it's a good location, close to a shopping plaza.

Our room was so nice and comfortable. Very happy it has the spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower . The gentleman at the front desk is so courteous and welcoming. I just can not say one negative thing about our stay here. I highly recommend the Best Western John Muir Inn in Martinez Ca.

Hallways smelled faintly of urine, gaps in curtains amd door let in outside light, and the door seemed as if it had been kicked in sometime in the past. Cheap place.

After we checked in, the TV in the room was not working. I took the remote to the front desk. I made 3 extra trips back to the front desk after maintenance guy couldn't fix. The front desk clerk had an attitude. Finally after realizing that there was an issue, the clerk put us in a room that had been freshly painted and smelled. At this point, we were already there 1hr waiting to get the TV fixed. The smell was horrible. The only good thing is that I always travel with a little fan and helped push the smell out.

Main lock on door has obviously been broken into before, but was still functioning. Had to call maintenance because phone had been unplugged- I couldn’t reach the plug to fix it.

The beds weren't terrible but they sure weren't great. Rooms weren't bad but it's time for a do over. Adequate and reasonable prices. Clean but it doesn't sparkle. Good enough for one night on the road. 3 stars

I had a race in Martinez and booked my stay last minute. It was a convenient location to food and the venue. Plenty of parking and was quiet at night to get the deep rest I needed to race the next day. Thankful I booked my stay here.
