This is a lovely little hotel. Well located - we used the park and ride at Tonelle to get into Manhattan using the HBLR and then PACT from Hoboken. It’s clean and breakfast is basic but varied. Negatives for us were: check-in clerk was really miserable. We had to extract info - not what you want after a long drive; the shower was freezing at all times and there wasn’t always decaf coffee available in the lobby where there was always regular. Decaf was available at breakfast. It would have been lovely to have in the evening as someone who can’t have caffeine for health reasons.

I made a non-refundable reservation because I didn’t have any reasons that I would cancel the trip with my daughter or change whose itinerary. However all of a sudden was situation has been escalated, the flights from Tel Aviv were cancelled and my flight was canceled as well. I tried to contact the hotel through the hotels.com plaform sveral times. But they didn’t get any of my messages before the date. However when I was at the hotel the day after they regrded my case as no show and canceled all of my reservation. The Hotel declined to do any types of assistance. What would I do in this situation? The reason that I couldn't be there was humanitarian issue. They don't take considerations of the humanitarian situations of the customer and charge me all the amount. Their policy is applied much more importantly than the humanitarian matters of the customer in an inevitable situation like war. Whan I raised a claim through the customer service of hotels.com. they allowed me a compensation. It was very appreciated.

The male who checked us in was on FaceTime during the entire interaction.
I called ahead and inquired about a shuttle to the cruise terminal, but was not advised of any fees associated with the shuttle. When I arrived the male who checked us in told me the total for the charges, including the shuttle. I agreed. I checked my account and was charged double the amount he gave. Then I asked for a refund. He didn’t speak well enough English to communicate properly at the front desk.
We had to park in a grass area over a curb because there was no parking.

Pool had hair floating in it and was murky, not sure how they state open when clearly the filtration system isn’t working.
Had police and fire trucks there due to electrical issue at place so had to evacuate.
No responses given to my complaints on refunding night, picked due to pool as driving through but couldn’t use as kid energy outlet as unsanitary.

It was a simple and quiet place, and it was a good bargain. However, getting into the hotel from 46 can be a little tricky —I would almost say dangerous—so please be careful.

Shampoo bottle in shower was empty. Went down to desk at 10pm and was told there's no shampoo anywhere but I can buy some for $5. Nope. It took about 20 minutes and 2 more tries at explaining before he finally called someone and he went and got a new bottle from somewhere. Meanwhile a lovely family was in line behind me to ask for a move of room due to roaches visible and crawling around the tv and remote. We won't be staying again. Shocked that a Hampton inn was so disorganized and buggy.
