I’m a diamond member, I was not greeted as a member when I showed my membership. I was not offered any perks upon my check in. I had paid in advance for the room and breakfast (I was always given a free breakfast in the United States due to my Diamond status) but was initially told I had to pay for and was charged for breakfast. Finally the receptionist said she had made a mistake and refunded my credit card charge for breakfast. This ordeal really put a rain cloud over my overall experience and made my stay most unpleasant. I had to leave a day early (I was not refunded for the charge) and asked that I receive all points associated with my stay, I have not received my points for my 2 day hotel payment as of today. The only thing that wasn't to my taste, the over cooked Bacon for breakfast. Apart from that a very nice Hotel especially for the price 😁

Terrific hotel. Stayed here for 2 weeks during the Euros and couldn’t have been happier! Super quiet yet really close to the train station and main shopping area of Duisburg. This was my 2nd visit and I fully expect it won’t be my last.

This is a unique hotel centrally located in Duisburg (near to the opera and other central buildings). Air-condition was rather loud (disturbing night-sleep).

Good location closer to railway station. Room small and hot, couldn't change temperature on air conditioning. Also only tiny desk, difficult to work on. Very slow WiFi.

Oh my…worst hotel room in recent memory and we travel a lot. The Holiday Inn Express we stayed at off the highway the night before to cut our long drive in half was a million times better (and quite a bit cheaper with free breakfast and free parking). We’ve actually stayed here before (mother-in-law lives in Duisburg) and booked because we found the room to be good last time. Well, apparently we had a renovated room last time (which was over 5 years ago) and this time we got a tiny, old room with ZERO shower privacy. Literally, the shower was in the walkway between the front door and the bed (glass door, fully exposed). No big deal for me and my husband, but the STRANGEST shower set-up we have ever seen in well over 150 hotels around the world. The shower also had some mold around the edges. The room was also only prepared for one guest as there was only one bath towel and one blanket on the bed (many German hotels have individual blankets instead of a double blanket). The hotel is well positioned and the breakfast was decent, but it’s definitely showing it’s age with wear and tear. Carpets are dingy and need replacing. Walls need to be repainted. Now I understand why the review score has plummeted. We will definitely look for a new hotel in Duisburg for our next visit.

Fairly recently renovated rooms which we’re comfortable, the shower was great, bar was pretty good and food was also absolutely fine. Pretty good spread at breakfast.
Only real issue was that if staying on floor one the ceiling, whilst high, isn’t very sound proof, so was woken up early on a few nights which is less than ideal.
