Was a great trip. View was amazing. The Chowder at 5 and cookies at 7 was an extra special touch. The employees at the desk were especially kind, helpful and upbeat; they made the stay extra nice, they are the main reason we would return.

The positives first: We were there for our anniversary, and they placed flower petals in a heart on the bed and left us a bottle of Elderflower Lemonade with a lovely card. Every room has a balcony with good chairs that face the ocean. The robes in the room were plush, cozy and warm. The fireplace makes it very romantic. Beds are very comfortable! Now for the not-so-positives: while the bed are comfy, they are SO HIGH off the ground that me and my 6'2" husband had trouble getting up on them! In our room, the carpet was treadbare near the bathroom, and the tack strip was exposed. It wasn't pleasant when I stepped on it! Also, the lower rail on the balcony plexiglass was rusted out, and the glass dropped down which made it dangerous for my grandchildren to be on the balcony. And just one personal peeve: the toilet paper is this and rough. My wife did bring the safely issues to their attention, and they were very receptive. We have stayed here many times, and this was our least favorite stay. The hotel recently sold, so we are hopeful for a return to their prior greatness!

Great room, great view. Site had recent renovations. Great friendly staff. Good continental breakfast. It was a pleasure.

Place was good. Beds were nice and soft. Disappointed that the breakfast provided was all prepackaged food that I could have gotten at the gas station. Thought it would have been better with the cost of the stay per night. Will make me consider staying at anymore Ascend hotels if this is what they offer.

If you are in Newport OR, this is the best place to stay. 1. All rooms are beach facing and sunsets are viewable from the balcony 2. Double bed rooms are king sized 3. Pets allowed 4. The sink is outside the bathroom. This is a great help when you are with family. 5. Nice eating joints, all within 3 mile radius. 6. Many beaches and lighthouse within 5 mile radius. 7. Good pool, hot tub and fire pit! Great service and decent parking spaces. Cons: Keycard seems fickle. Keeps getting demagnetized often. More of an annoyance than a con. Breakfast is basically grab and go. Not much to write about. Overall, great place to spend time with family.

I would suggest changing out the plexiglass on the balcony, looked old and you could not see through it. I also suggest screen doors on the patio so you can sleep with it cracked open and hear the ocean while you sleep. The pool and hot tub were not the best. Didn’t feel as nice as the rooms were. The patio with fire pits were awesome! So cozy and nice to sit out there as chilly as it was. We were disappointed that you had to request room service for clean towels and garbage removal etc. I think this hotel could benefit by having direct beach access right off the patio. Would have been SO nice! Was really hoping to get my grandmother on the beach and she just couldn’t. Chowder and cookies were a nice touch. Breakfast was very simple breakfast sandwich and cereals ( typical hotel stuff). The free water bottles were a PLUS! Overall nice stay.

Staff was friendly & very helpful. Their nightly chowder was absolutely amazing will be back to stay again. The hot tub could be turned down was way too hot to enjoy it other than that a great place to stay!!!!

We love how dog friendly this place is!

Very friendly, great customer service. Accommodating to my dog. Only bad critique is none of the usb ports in the room worked and I forgot the plug in charger… phone battery died, which in turn actually made my stay better!
