I had higher expectations for this place. Perhaps I was unlucky to get a room that was not super clean and definitely needs some maintenance. Small details like mold in the shower, dirty walls, peeling wallpaper, torn sheets, my towels had a musty odor. I never got the TV to work except for Netflix.
I had a king size bed with two small pillows. It looked odd and motel-like. Why can't a 4 star hotel have pillows for a king size bed?
The property itself is nice and is in a safe and good location. There's a nice mall across the street, staff was nice and kind as well.

Nice new hotel near the mall. Nice breakfast spread in the morning. Good hotel I recommend it.

Novotel Sorocaba was a nice enough business hotel. What I didn't like was:
1. Poor elevator maintenance. Issues were mentioned to hotel staff but over three days weren't fixed.
2. Impracticality of bathroom door design in my room. Just silly half-doors that block the hallway in the room. Door to the toilet also poorly arranged. I've never experienced such a poorly-designed door arrangement in a modern hotel.
3. Windows let too much traffic noise into the room.
4. No 110V shaver point like a normal business hotel.
5. No Euro or US to modern Brazilian N-type plug sockets adaptors for power at reception for loan or purchase.
6. Breakfast refills (Nespresso capsules, eggs etc) did not happen pro-actively, guests had to run out and request them.
Perhaps put Nespresso machines in the rooms. It would be kind for business travellers like me.
