We have stayed at the Prospector many times on our way to and from Washington/Arizona. It is an extremely pet friendly hotel. We love the eclectic decor, restaurant, and little casino. My only complaint is that the coffee and dessert area is never open in the evenings for ice cream. I don't need the ice cream but it is fun to have when you are traveling.

Very fun hotel with a great Mexican restaurant, bar and plenty of slot machines. The room was huge, lots of amenities and very nice walk in shower. The pool and hot tub area was cool and had plenty of areas to hang out. Really enjoyed our stay.

Love this hotel especially Margarita's Restaurant (excellent food).

We stayed one night on a road trip from Great Basin National Park to Death Valley. We were a little leery about booking because options are limited in the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was very clean & comfortable. The on-site Mexican restaurant was ok, nothing great or bad. The casino was entertaining but lots of cigarette smoke. We even won a little bit. It’s an out of the way place, but is a convenient road trip stop over.

We were hunting and chose this hotel because it offered easy access to the area we had tags for. The hotel is older but the rooms had been updated and overall were decent for our needs. There was a distinct smell of cigarette smoke in our room but I assume that was from years ago before the hotel changed its smoking policies. Otherwise, the beds were made up and complimentary essentials were replaced each day. We left each morning before sunrise and often returned in the evenings so our interaction with staff was minimal. However, what we did have was pleasant. We didn't take time to use the amenities (pool, casino, restaurant) because we were focused on our hunts, but they seemed nice too. We plan to return again in the future. My only suggestion to management would be to see if they can attend to the persistent odor of old cigarette smoke. Otherwise, it was fine.

Our stay was wonderful! The biggest take away from our stay was the friendliness of the staff! The only, VERY minor, thing negative was that the tv volume wouldn’t go past a certain point but very negligible. The room was very clean and they had awesome perks at check in!

Everything was good front desk was friendly. Never been to Ely. Stayed there for the casino and restaurant being convenient. Was comfortable room. Casino was not as good was gambling and no waitress for drinks. Smells bad like smoke did not spend alot of time in casino area.

This is our new go to hotel when we travel from Arizona to Idaho. This is the third time staying here, 2 of which have been in the last 10 days. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We also love the on site restaurant.

Just needed a place to rest. I thought for sure it was going to smell like cigarette smoke but it did not. Mexican food was good as well.

May very well be ghe most friendly, service oriented hotel we've er stayed at. Every staff person was friendly with a ready, sincere welcome... truly eagr to make you feel "at home." Restaurant excellent and reasonably priced. Decor unique and enjoyable. Very clean rooms. The most dog friendly place we've ever experienced. Doggy beds in rooms. Treats! And dog welcomed in lounge, fining area and casino. Nice gift shop... alot of variety.

This is a fun little hotel with lots to see. We were on a road trip and just needed a one-night stay as a stopover and this was the best option. Cute theme with kitschy western decor but in a good way. We ate at the on-site Mexican restaurant and it was surprisingly really good. Considering the town itself is pretty out of the way we weren't sure what to expect but it did not disappoint.
