Roots hotel is a clean and comfortable place to stay, just a stone throw away from Plovdiv historic centre. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but the owner Mitko is reason alone to book a room at this hotel. Mitko is the perfect host; - Does everything to ensure his guests are comfortable - Makes a great breakfast - Helps with parking - Great tips for destinations to see in Plovdiv, and Bulgaria in general. Also If you are in to wine, ask him for wine tips or to buy a bottle. He is a sommelier. He is also an interesting conversation partner. We had a wonderful stay.

The owner Mitko is very kind person. He is sommelier with a wealth of knowledge about wines. I highly recommend visiting the hotel and ordering a wine tasting. Everything was fine, we had an amazing time.

We selected this hotel based on feedback from previous customers, and stayed her for 2 nights. We were not disappointed. The location is perfect. Mitko, the host, was amazing and very helpful. Plovdiv is a beautiful city and Mitko gave us good advices and all help we needed. We can highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Roots was the best place I stayed during my tour of Bulgaria. Close to the historic centre, quiet, super clean and everything as it should be. The owner, Mitko, is super friendly and quite a character. Cooks up a mean omelette too. You can’t go wrong here. 10/10

Mitko was an excellent host there and shared a lot of his time to plan my visit in Plovdiv. He served excellent breakfasts, recommended very good restaurants that met my expectations and highlighted points of interests. All I had to do was to follow the plan.

The hotel itself was very clean and located less than 2 minutes walk of the old town entrance and around 5-10 minutes from Kapana district. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Everything overall about this was amazing. Mitko was of tremendous assistance the moment we got to the hotel property. Room was in excellent condition, location was spectacular, Mitko's homecooked breakfast was tailored exactly to each of our liking. Amazing stay and will definitely only consider staying here if I'm back in Plovdiv.
