It was just a place to sleep and it was just the bear necessities

Room was clean and bed comfortable. I would have liked a nice armchair. The room had one office chair which wasn't so good.
In check in I was asked for a $50 deposit via cash or credit card. I paid cash as attendant said a credit card refund could take a few days. As I checked out I had to wait for the computer to boot up to get my refund. A woman that had paid a deposit with credit card was told she'd see her refund in a few days and off she went. I didn't have to wait all that long for my csh back.
This being one of the cheapest rooms available I had lowered expectations. It was fairly quiet and was okay despite being in an economically depressed area.

The staff were pleasant, the room cozy. Unfortunately, we were there during a power outage affecting a large part of the city, so the room temperature was not ideal and the tv wasnt operable. Despite that, the hotel was fine.

Me and my husband was coming back to our hotel room and he hollered come on baby and the front desk clerk came out of the office and said we we're making to much noise and kicked us out at 12:30 am. And called the police on us. Plus the gave us dish towels to dry off with after our shower. Staff was very rude and not helpful. I will not be returning.

Hot showers, cold fridge and comfortable bed… that’s all I ask. Walkable food choices, kind and accommodating staff, and a safe parking area make Red Apple Inn my choice every time I’m in the area. Great for brief stays or longer.

This is an average hotel. Please do not take my wrong. It is just the fact this is a hotel for a quick stay before you flight out of Detroit Metro Airport. Front desk guy was friendly and did his job.

I needed a place to sleep for a night (early morning event nearby on the following day). I know that when you're looking at establishments at this price point, you're getting a no-frills experience. That's certainly the case here. It is not modern, posh or luxurious. Very basic. I knew that when I made the reservation.
Having said that, it was still a disappointment. The bed wasn't that comfortable (in my own opinion) and the room smelled funny (which I believe was coming from the A/C). The bathtub/shower was only usable as a bathtub (which was odd considering my room was a "king jacuzzi" suite).
Was it a bad place to stay? Not really. Would I stay here again next time I'm in the same situation? I'll probably roll the dice and try a different similarly-priced place in the area.

It was not the kind of place I was used to staying in at all. Staff was friendly, but the sink was stopped up. Basically it’s just an old property. I don’t like old properties have that old property smell I’m from Las Vegas and when you walk into a casino and it smell like feet and cigarettes it’s an old property.
