Great location and staff.

We had a lovely stay at Tranquill House Inn. Staff was very responsive to requests. The only issues that kept me from giving a five star review was the need for better sheets and pillows. Sheets were very rough and pillows were old and well used. There was also a dehumidifier running in our room that needed to be emptied twice a day and it was very loud. We had to leave it on or our bedding felt damp at night.

We loved how close we were to the festival! The Inn was beautiful, clean and cozy! The atmosphere and the staff were 10 out of 10! I would highly recommend this establishment and would come back. It’s right on the water and it was amazing to be so close to the fireworks on July 4th!!!!

When we checked in there was a dehumidifier set up in the room. It was already full with red light on. It was muggy in the room and I am not sure when it was last emptied. They do not have daily housekeeping. No pool. No bikes. You can walk to shops and local restaurants. Free parking is nice. The room needed some updating. The happy hour wine/cheese was sweet wine and cube cheese like you buy kraft in grocery store lunch meet aisle and is on table in lobby. The wine is not in its bottle so I am guessing maybe box wine put in decanter? The have a lovely upstair deck outside. The really should set up happy hour there and have nicer wine/cheese. I would not stay here again.

Really enjoyed this peaceful place right on the waterfront. Very comfortable bed, spacious room, good breakfast, beautiful property. Staff was very pleasant and easy to work with. Downsides were that there was a little mustiness in the room (it is a waterfront, after all), and the steps down to the parking lot are a little tricky. I tripped a couple times at the bottom where the step meets the parking block. We would definitely come again.

This place is a gem in the center of downtown Manteo. It is close to so many sites including quick access to the beaches on Nags Head. Accommodations were excellent and the staff knowledgeable and friendly.

Enjoyed a lovely stay. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Perfect location for walking to shopping, food, and waterfront. Restaurant was fabulous as well.

Charming historic inn in great location. Room was spacious and bed very comfortable. Furnishings just OK. There are no comfortable chairs, just straight backed chairs. There is no dresser to place clothing in, only closet. The electrical sockets were taken up by lamps, Coffee maker and router, leaving only two for charging devices and one of those two didn’t work. The electronic door lock also didn’t work and we had to go down and get a key. The room overall could use some updating. Needs a deep clean and paint. In staff were nice and helpful. The included breakfast was very basic, like a chai hotel. On the plus side, the restaurant was great. Excellent quality of food and good service for dinner

Wonderful place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. Great continental breakfast and so convenient to the waterfront restaurants and shops. Great location in a lovely town.
