this place i a hidden pearl amongst an island that is known for it’s beauty. it does honor to the concept of a homestay, as it feel like a home from home! Muklis and the rest of the guys are very passionate about what they do and it shows. if you have good vibes, this place return those exact vibes! Every surfer will find something for them here and their non surfing companions will soon be tempted to try it and leave possessing some skill after even a single session with the amazing surf coaches.

Had one week off where I wanted to catch as many waves as possible - improve my surfing and meet like minded people and at Medewi Secret Surf camp you are able to get all this with ease. Muklis, Sole, Daffa and the rest of the guys do a great job at creating a very welcoming and fun atmosphere. Do their best to get you the best waves and make the whole experience worthwhile. Easily catching 15-20 waves a session and then creating a very comfortable environment afterwards. If you're looking to relax avoid the crowds, catch great waves and surround yourself with like minded people then could not recomment this place more.

I didn’t know anything about Medewi before I went and wow, this was the best one week of my life. The room was spacious with your own bathroom, Muklis and his family + crew are always filled with good vibes, and the surf coaching and video analysis are the best I’ve experienced. I’m gonna go back for at least a month next time!

do not recommend to live in Medewi. the SecretSurf is a pretty cozy and interesting place to stay. but Medewi is only good for surfing

I was planning to stay in Medewi for only a couple of days and ended up staying at Medewi Secret Surf camp for almost two weeks. The Homestay gives you “feel at home” vibes, as there is a big living room with a kitchen and a TV to hang out and chill. Muklis and all the staff are so much fun, so available and just amazing! I always felt so welcome during my stay! There is the option to have surf lessons and board rental and both are really good value for money, especially since it’s a real surf coaching more than simple surf lessons. Every day we went to a different surf spot in order to get the best swell and wave condition for each level. I can’t believe how much I have improved in only two weeks! Thanks!

Nothing, everything was perfect. I do think it’s better to be able to drive a scooter though, as the property is a bit “far” from the beach (20-30 mins walk). You can easily rent a scooter for a cheap price at the camp or maybe share the scooter with someone else.

The vibe is perfect. The surf lessons are amazing, everything taken care off and Murklis makes you feel like you are in your own house. =)

There were some construction building happening and our room was just right beside it, so we would wake up with the first noise. The room was very spacious and confortable but there was a strong smell of mold. I guess the other rooms didn't have the same problem. There is also no hot water but we didn't miss it since we barely stayed inside and were surfing with Murklis crew almost every day

The staff are just great people! They really try to make the best trip for those who stay in the camp. I stayed in Medewi for 3 weeks and I think this is the best to stay for those who visit for the surf. Would definitely recommend!

The only con I could think of is that the rooms could be a bit cleaner.

Everything about our stay was absolutely AMAZING! first of all surf lessons were way above average. The instructors very absolutely amazing, they had great knowledge and were good with both beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers. The lessons normally gets filmed, and during the day you will go through the videos and get feedback from the former professional surfer Mukli! wanna learn to surf, or do you wanna get better please do yourself a favour and book!!! besides that will you be staying with an amazing family. The surroundings are beautiful and will get you into the right surf vibe.

not so much a negative - but make sure you’ve got confidence riding a scooter before you arrive - there’s a motorway nearby which means it’s not the best place to learn to start with.

Muklis and his family have created an exceedingly warm, welcoming and fun environment at Medewi Secret Surf Camp (MSSC). The accommodation itself is in the balinese style with lush gardens bursting with passionfruit and coconuts. If you're in Medewi to surf, then I can't recommend MSSC enough. Under Muklis' tutelage, my surfing improved more in 2 weeks than it had in the past 15 years. Muklis' knowledge of the local surf spots is unparalleled; so even if you're not interested in lessons, you'll no doubt benefit from his tips. To top it all off, Yanti is an excellent cook. Her pancakes are fantastic, but if you're really lucky, you'll get to try some of her curry! When you get a bit sore from surfing, I'd highly recommend a massage from Muklis' mum, Atik. Her massages are some of the best I've had anywhere in the world and left me feeling loose and ready to hit the surf again.

There really were no negative aspects to my stay. The biggest crisis was a temporary wifi drop out. However, Muklis was diligent in immediately organising repairmen to come by and fix it, and it was working again in no time. I'll be back at the first opportunity :)

This is a great place to stay if you want to improve your surfing and meet new people. Muklis takes everyone surfing every day and gives expert instruction. He is an elite pro surfer and it pays to learn from the best. He conducts a video analysis session afterwards and shares the videos with you. The fees for all this instruction are very reasonable. This was the friendliest place I stayed at in Bali.

There was nothing bad worth mentioning. It was the best place I've stayed at in Bali and I've spent many months in Bali.

Medewi Secret Surf Spot taught me how to surf properly! Staying with Muklis you instantly become part of his surfing crew. It is a wonderfully communal experience where guests and the family come together over a shared love of surfing to create good vibes in the house and in the water. If you are looking to progress your surfing, then this is the perfect place. Muklis is a professional surfer whose enthusiasm for surfing is infectious! He coaches at all levels in a really well-structured and supportive way, but most of all he just loves getting us on waves. Making sure we were in the right place at the right time to catch the best waves, then identifying the areas we needed to work on to keep improving. Can't recommend staying here strongly enough. I'll be back for sure. Yeew!

It is a great place to stay with a lovely welcoming family. If you are looking to improve your surfing then it is perfect. You can get one to one video coaching and guiding from Muklis at a price you can afford. The location is quiet and there are good scooters to rent to get where you need to be. I will return soon for sure.
