Part of a distinctive red-brick development just above Rotherslade Bay, this contemporary coastal retreat is perfect for a party of four. Rotherslade links at low tide to Langland Bay (500 metres), where the beautiful sands are backed by a beach hut-lined promenade. Sheltered from onshore winds, this is a favourite spot for surfing and swimming, with a choice of eateries plus tennis courts and a golf course close by. A major attraction of the Gower Peninsula is its scenic coastal path, lined with wildflowers and well-suited to walkers of all ages. Follow it west and you’ll reach beautiful Caswell Bay (1.5 miles), or head east instead to Bracelet Bay (2 miles) for a fine view towards the Mumbles Lighthouse. A mile cross-country you’ll find cosmopolitan Mumbles that has something for everyone to enjoy, with a Victorian pier and seafront lined with refreshment stops and ice cream shops. Overlooking the village, Oystermouth Castle (1.5 miles) is especially stunning, while further east, Swansea (5.5 miles) is the second-largest city in Wales.
Park your car at the front of the apartment block and pause to admire the view out to sea before you follow the steps one flight up to the landing and turn right to access your front door. Inside, the hallway has doors into a family bathroom, two bedrooms and a boiler cupboard containing a handy washer/dryer. The first bedroom you come to has a quirky bunk bed with sleeping space for two at the lower level and one above – ideal for siblings. There’s a king-size bedroom further along, before you reach a chic, uncluttered, open-plan living space with fully glazed patio doors at the far end. A contemporary sofa and chairs bring a cool coastal vibe to the lounge area, where you can stretch out to watch TV, opening those patio doors for a waft of sea air in the warmer months. Behind, the circular dining suite is conveniently close to the chic kitchen, where you’ll find all the essentials for an effortless self-catering stay.
