Über diese Ferienunterkunft
villa il carrubo, amazing view on the Amalfi Coast

It was perfect as advertised! Loredana greeted us and was helpful in providing recommendations for places to eat and where to go. We enjoyed just hanging out, relaxing the taking in the beautiful views.

I can't say enough great things about this place. I loved it. If you are looking for peace and quite this is the place. The infinity pool and the view are amazing. It is a ways to get here but, so so worth it. Even though I didn't want to leave we did venture out for lunch one day. We went to one of the recommended restaurants and it was one of the best meals I had on my month long vacation. I could have stayed here longer.
Thank you for sharing your amazing space with us.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful villa! The villa was better than the pictures show and Raffaella and Loredana were very helpful. Loredana organised our requested groceries on arrival and booked a lovely restaurant for us. We highly recommend!!

The pictures don't do this property justice! This home was one of the most beautiful villas I have ever stayed in and I've booked many. The views of the sea were amazing, the grounds with olive trees, jasmine, wisteria, mulberry trees, flowering cacti, beautiful fuscia flowers, etc....gorgeous! The peace and quiet...
One big piece of advice...schedule some time to just enjoy the home for a few days without having to leave. I hated leaving the home each day...it was so great coming back after a busy day of tours and exploring.
The rooms/beds were super comfy and air conditioning was nice and cool. Bathrooms were just what we needed for our group of 5. The POOL....chefs kiss!
Our hosts Raffaella and Loredana were so hospitable and assisted us with making reservations for restaurants and helping us find a private driver when we needed one. We got into a car accident and Raffaella offered to come pick us up in Sorrento...so sweet and thoughtful!
If you decide to rent a car, be sure that it is smaller/narrow to get down the road to the home - we had a Jeep Renegade that got through just fine...I also recommend a automatic. Loredana escorted us the first time to the home and that was super helpful to show us how it should be done.
If you are thinking of booking this property...DO IT! We can't wait to come back again. Thank you for your generosity and hospitality!

The views are amazing. The property is immaculate. The assistance from Raffaella and Loredana was above and beyond. Raffaella recommended tour company that came through on all the tours. We dines with the restaurants she recommended and had excellent meals.
I became ill and called Raffaella for assistance. She arranged a house call for me--and the doctor was so thorough and kind. Our vacation was saved. RECOMMEND HIGHLY!

Fantastic 11 days staying at this villa and seeing all the sites of the Amalfi coast and Sorrento peninsula (including capri). Villa is well appointed, host was helpful and answered any questions we had via prompt WhatsApp responses, and the best thing of all is the views over the sea and islands from the sun lounger, outdoor dining area and balcony. Eyes never got tired of the view.

This property is perfect and the pictures don’t do it justice. Loredana was extremely helpful and responsive. If staying here, ensure you utilize the courtesy car to eat at Lo Stuzzichino. The road to the property is tight, but we were completely fine using our Toyota C-HR. Nonetheless, the property / view is so good, you won’t want to leave the place anyways.

We were a party of three staying in June 2023. This was our first trip to Italy. The home was beautiful. Way more space than the three of us needed. The grounds, the view, and the pool were spectacular. The pictures simply do not do it justice. Loredana our contact was tremendous! She assisted in every phase of our vacation. We would have been lost without her assistance. Please keep in mind that the house is located in the hills on a VERY narrow road. You will need a very small car and you will need a driver that can operate an automatic (stick). Highly recommend this property!

Wow, what a property. The view is unsurpassed, the villa is quiet, well equipped, clean and spacious (for our family of 5). Yes the road to it is a trial - our Jeep Renegade was just on the size limit, but it is worth the effort. Loredana and Rafaella made it all very easy with communication, check in and any help needed. Will be back!

Beautiful views, comfortable beds, excellent outdoor spaces and a very cool infinity pool. What could be more perfect?!? We had a great time exploring the Amalfi coast, including a visit to Capri. Thank you Rafaella (and Loredona).

We had a fabulous week in this lovely villa. The views are absolutely stunning, the rooms spacious, beds comfortable and the whole villa is very clean and well maintained. We loved the infinity pool and it’s views, the outside dining space, barbecue and pizza oven. Loredana was lovely and very helpful. The only downside for us (and not really related to the villa) was the mosquitoes so take plenty of protection. Also ensure your car is as small as can be because the road to the villa is challenging. But all in all very worth it!

Wonderful Property and Amazing View
The property was wonderful and the views amazing.
We especially enjoyed the infinity pool and the upstairs balcony, with views of the bay and all its activity, and the moon. Our hosts, Raffaella and Loredana, were very helpful and responsive, including info on excursions and dinning. We had so much fun!

Bellisimo!
We loved our stay at the Villa! The views are beautiful, the property is beautiful and the villa itself is very well laid out. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed trying out the pizza oven and grill! The bed was very comfortable and the linens were very good quality. We hope to return again one day!

Breathtaking views from a lovely property
A thousand square miles of view south from the Amalfi coast can't be described. Every spare moment was spent watching boats, super yachts and wildlife (incl a pod of dolphins) from the pool and patio 350m above the sea. House private, well equipped and we loved mastering the enormous outdoor pizza oven. Two bedrooms and the upper balcony also have great views. There is a beach 20 mins away...go early for parking. Took Positano to Amalfi ferry as the cheap option for a coast tour! House well laid out , large, serviced during the week, pool beautiful and just big enough for exercising. Plenty of lawn and patio space. Fresh pasta maker at end of the lane...yum. The access lane is narrow (and I'm a Brit) but locals are helpful about using the few passing places. If you come in anything bigger than a compact car you'd better be 5☆ at reversing. If you are a light sleeper come prepared for nocturnal entertainment- owls, roosting Bee-eater birds, cockerels and distant church bells. At least you'll get to see the crystal clear stars and wonderful sun rises that others sleep through! Coming here again is on my wish list. We did our bulk shopping on arrival at Auchan Pompei after a stop at Herculeanium on the way from Naples airport. ST Agata has useful supermarket ,fishmonger, bakery. There are no excuses for buying pizza...fire up and make your own!

Amazing location
The villa is clean well furnished very quiet. The grounds are well kept. Sorrento and the major historical sights are within easy travelling distance. The photographs of the view do not do it justice. It has to be seen as it is absolutely amazing. Access to the villa is via a very narrow single track road. We rented a Fiat 500 XL which was fine but anything larger could be difficult. Rafaella who is the contact was brilliant and could not do enough to help. She was always on hand with recommendations or to answer questions. Thank you Rafaella you made our stay so much easier. We hope to return one day.

Very appealing location
Stunning location set high on cliffs with a beautiful view. Very pleased with accommodation and quality of villa, easy to navigate from and central to all locations... male life easy by renting a smaller car as road between main road and property extremely narrow.

Beautiful views, very private and clean villa
We are a family of five (three teenagers) from Finland. The villa exceeded our expectations. The views over the sea are amazing. The garden is well kept, and the setting is very private - no neighbours in sight. The villa is really well equipped, and we have seldom seen an equally well maintained and cleaned property. The pool, the ping-pong table and the wood-fired pizza oven were all put to good use by us!
It is a great base for excursions to Capri, Pompeii, the Amalfi coast, et cetera.
Raffaella was a most friendly and helpful hostess, really appreciated her help.
We can highly recommend this property, a really good choice and great value for money.

wonderful villa with spectacular views
The outside living space is fantastic with several eating areas wether you needed sun or shade etc. The open air kitchen area was great including a pizza oven which we had fun using. The pool is just beautiful extending to views that are breathtaking. This whole area seems larger than the online photos suggest.
Inside everything is very well appointed and clean but the weather was so good we spent very little time indoors.
The location is superb making day trips very accessible with a car eg Herculaneum Positano, and Capri . The villa is beautifully secluded , this does mean there is a very narrow road to access it so i would advise a small car. However it is certainly worth the tricky drive to get to it.
Rafaella is the most gracious and helpful hostess who speaks extremely good english.
We would love to be back there now.

Fantastic Villa with the best views
The photos do not do this place justice, everything was catered for, very clean. Rafaela was a fantastic owner nothing was to much trouble. We will defiantly be going back. The lane is narrow but is not a problem we hired a fiat 500 XL didn't have any problems with width. The Italians are so friendly, even though we did try out Italian they still reply in English.

All our friends are jealous!
5 stars to Villa Il Carrubo and the host, Raffaella. The villa is extremely clean and comfortable, and the outdoor spaces and view of the Bay of Salerno are spectacular. We chose this villa instead of one in Positano or Praiano due to its location on the Sorrento peninsula instead of further south on the Amalfi coast, and what a great decision that was. The traffic on the 2 lane road through the Amalfi coast is ridiculous, even pre-season, and if we had stayed further south on the coast we would have spent the entire trip sitting in traffic.
Villa Il Carrubo is just outside the inland village of Sant’Agata sui Dui Golfi which has the usual restaurants, gas stations, shops, a Conad grocery store, and several gelateria for your nightly dessert. Although Sant’ Agata is easy to find with your GPS, the road to the villa will require following Raffaella on your first drive there, after which you can set your GPS accordingly.
Villa Il Carrubo has lovely views from the two very nice upper floor bedrooms, a bath on the upper floor, plus another bed and bath on the lower floor along with a large eat-in kitchen and living room with large flat screen TV (TVs are also available in the bedrooms) and access to the several patio areas. The WiFi worked well (Raffaella likes to use the WiFi based WhatsApp instead of texting since telephone service is spotty). The bath rooms are large but European in style, and the dishwasher is wonderful to have on vacation as is the clothes washer (line dry which is amazingly quick in the sun). Most importantly, if you have any questions or concerns, Raffaella is very responsive and happy to help guests.
Another benefit to the location of Villa Il Carrubo is the relatively short drive (1.5 hr) to Pompeii and Herculaneum, shorter drive to the Sorrento dock (30 minutes) for the hydrofoil to Naples or Capri, and very short drive (15 minutes!) to the small but lovely coastal village of Marina del Cantone with multiple restaurants, a pebble beach, and boat trips to Capri, Positano and Amalfi. But of course once you see the infinity pool over the Bay of Salerno at Villa Il Carrubo, you may never want to leave your new home on the Sorrento peninsula.

Comfortable house with a beautiful view
The pictures undersell the house. The terraces are larger than shown and do offer both sun and shade. The view is beautiful. The house is practical and comfortable. We needed the heating of the house due to low night temperatures. This was easy to control. Take a compact car (width 180 cm) as it is very narrow (only one car just fits with mirrors folded to the car) and with many tight bends.

Simply paradise.
Our stay at Il Carrubo was just wonderful. The view is incomparable and we felt very much at home in the beautifully clean villa. The facilities at the villa are good and we had everything we needed for a great stay - the outside kitchen is a real novelty. Importantly, the WI-FI access was good and we were able to stream Netflix and Amazon to our tablets without any delays or interruptions.
Raffaella was a fantastic hostess and was keen to share her expert knowledge and tips for touring the area - and was always on hand to answer questions via WhatsApp.
The track down to the villa is narrow - we hired a Nissan Juke which was fine - but a bigger car would not be advisable. We shopped at the local CONAD in Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi which had pretty much everything we needed.
We had a wonderful, restful time at Il Carrubo and made lots of wonderful memories - the views are unforgettable. We hope to return very soon.

WOW - Amazizng Villa to say the least!!!
We have had the best vacation of our lives here in Italy. The villa exceeded our expectations in every way. The pictures don't do it justice. I encourage you to come see for yourself - you won't be disappointed, I promise! The weather all week was gorgeous and sunny. The villa is a great central location to enjoy everything close to the area. When not relaxing at the villa, we ventured out to enjoy a chartered boat tour of Capri, a day trip to Positano, Marina del cantone, a fun evening in Sorrento, and even fit in a day trip to Rome. We found everthing we needed at the Villa. Raffaella was great and we took her advice to visit the nearby restaurant, Villa Caprille - where we were taken care of to say the least. & the sunset views were AMAZING!!! Another highlight was to have Daniel from Villa Caprille to come by on our last evening for a pizza demonstration. Our best advice is to listen when they say a small car is needed. We managed with a small & med size car for the group. Do NOT follow "navigation" or GPS to find Villa caprille upon welcome - just follow Raffaella's directions. :) *purchase the insurance when renting a car* It will be hard to top this Villa in the years to come. We enjoy traveling and have never experienced one as amazing as this. Thank you for sharing this Villa with us & we hope to be back someday! Shot anyone????

A Little Piece of Paradise.
My family and I have just returned from a week at Villa Il Carrubo. The villa itself had everything you could ask for. It was very comfortable and more than adequately equipped. It was cleaned from top to bottom half way through our stay, including changes of bed linen and towels. The location of the villa is amazing. The winding road down to it can be a bit daunting but it is worth every twist and turn! The view over the Med is trully spectacular and is something that will stay with me for a very long time. The personal service given by Raffaella is great and a visit to the nearby restaurant, Villa Caprille, is also recommended not only for the food but also for the fantastic views. The location of the villa is also a good base for trips to Pompei, Amalfi and Capri. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and would I go back? Like a shot!
