Love this place. Perfect long weekend home away from home. Highly recommended for families.

The location was great. Just a short walk to the beach. Very quiet (except for my children). The innkeeper and his family were nice and friendly. They also had a big shaggy, teddy bear of a dog. The unit was clean and well stocked. The small city of Powell River was 10-15 minutes away with all the stores you might need. I got the tidal waters fishing license before the trip specifically for clam digging. I couldn't find the right clams but I am a novice and I did find oysters, happily. The waters are shallow but cold. There's the Palm Beach Park just 5 minutes south if you want warmer waters.

I received a one bedroom with a extra large double (king) bed and a single (twin) in the living room. There is also a double recliner and a single recliner in the living room. I also received a single (twin) air mattress on the floor. I was not thrilled because the Booking.com listing said there would be a bedroom with a extra large bed, a bunk bed and a futon (the futon was in the description). My senior parents got the bedroom and my eldest got the single. The double recliner was a bit difficult for my middle child to sleep on (they're a small kid and couldn't really get it to stay in the position of they wanted). I ended up with the smallest child and the air mattress on the floor. I am not a small person. Maybe I could've relegated one of the kids to the floor mattress but it was placed in a small hallway in front of the backdoor of the unit and I felt better placing myself there.

The host family was lovely and it was spotless.

It cost too much for the age of the rooms and location.

If you are looking for a quiet location with a short drive into town this is a great property. Owner is friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable apartments with a view of the ocean a block away.
