Entire spacious house with roof terrace - Vence centre

We stayed nine days at this great place. Very spacious- a full house with a terrasse on the roof top with a view over the roofs of Vence - and to the sea.
Erika was very nice and helpful. She answered all our questions - and she shipped a dress which we had forgotten in one of the dressers to our home place. Thanks again for this very pleasant stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Vence and in this beautiful house!

This apartment was just as we expected from the online listing. It was so interesting to stay in such an old building with all of its history. The location is walkable to everything, with easy access to the bus station. Working with the owner and greeter was seamless, and we would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to stay in Vence.

Excellent location. The place was nice. There were a few surprises, that upon further investigation were listed in the description. It is listed as a 3 bedroom. It should be listed as a 2 or 2.5 bedroom as the 3rd bedroom is a sofa sleeper (that was terribly uncomfortable). It is located as soon as you walk in the front door and is wide open to the front door. So you can't walk in/out without disturbing people sleeping there. A bedroom should have a door and privacy. Parking for a week at Grand Jardin was 55e. There was also a cleaning charge of 100e which is listed in the description but should maybe just be included in the total price. The place was nice, with an excellent location and parking close. Erika was fantastic and helpful. We really enjoyed the stay, and would do so again. Sorry to dwell on the negative, but extra charges and the 3rd bedroom were surprises that could be communicated better. (my bad as it was listed) Washer and dryer were so helpful also.

During my long stay at the house it felt like home. In the kitchen there was everything that I needed. The roof terrace was great place to spend time and the view was great. All the shops were close. Going up and down the five floors of the house was good daily exercise (lots of steps but also good handrails). I and my visitors enjoyed the experience very much.

Just a fantastic place to stay in Vence

We had a wonderful stay. The home is well-kept. The location of the home is right at the center of Vence and convenient to many good restaurants, shops, etc. A plus for us is that the home is in a true neighborhood (not just tourists). While there were many listings in and around Vence, this was the only property that I could find with all these qualities. The photos on the posting accurately portray the home. In my opinion, it looks even better in person. Note, because there are four levels, it might not be ideal for persons with difficulty climbing stairs.

The house is in a very nice location not far away from all the touristic cities like Nice Cannes Monaco and all the beaches Cagnes sur mer is max 15 mn away
Vence is a small medieval and beautiful village
The restaurants and the cafes are 2 mn walking distance from the house and the week we were there, every night there was an event which makes it more enjoyable.
Erika was very kind and helpful, the house itself is nice not recommended for old people though it has almost 4 floors to get to kitchen and then the terrasse which is in the last floor
We had everything we needed in the house, may be missing some kitchenware and some cabinets to put groceries away.

The apartment was wonderful and the city of Vence was pleasant, but getting the keys to the apartment did not go as promised. Before booking, we had asked if a late arrival at 10 pm would be possible, and it was said to be fine. When we called the key giver half an hour before arrival and told her we were at the grocery store and soon in Vence, she got angry and yelled that we weren't allowed to go to the grocery store. According to her, we should have eaten on the plane and brought food with us in suitcases. Finally she said that she won't wait for us, but we have to get the keys from her house, even though we were coming at the pre-arranged time. Finally we walked in Vence and searched her home for keys and explored the apartment on our own. It wasn't the best start to a vacation with hungry kids. In other words, book the apartment if you are sure that there is no traffic jam at the airport or car rental, and you won't get lost on the way, etc. The apartment had everything you needed (remember to buy water and toilet paper in advance from the grocery store), including many guides for the surrounding area. The roof terrace of the apartment was wonderful, with sea-view. The city of Vence is delightful with many restaurants and shops and we made trips to many nearby villages with a rental car.

Great location
We’ll deal with the cons first because the pros outweigh them.
The interior is looking a bit tired, the linen and bedding needs replacing especially the pillows! It would be helpful to have a shower curtain in the en-suite bathroom to make showering a little easier! The carpet in the second bedroom needs removing or replacing as it’s ruffled and looks tired.
The pros were a lovely terraced house on 4 floors in a fantastic location, metres from restaurants, bars, bakeries and the centre of town. The roof terrace was a joy for sitting out and where we ate and enjoyed a glass of rosé most nights on our 2 week stay.
Car parking was available within 100 metres and we paid 80€ for 2 weeks (same price for a month).
Easy run into the airport and local buses available 400 metres away. Tourist office on the square is great for information.
The municipal swimming pool was close by and was a great way to cool off.
Many thanks to the owners for paying promptly for an extra fan needed in the ground floor bedroom.
We had a great stay in beautiful Vence.

Charming house in the center of town
The location could not be more perfect for exploring Vence. Every night, we would stroll the streets right outside our door. The rooftop terrace was great and you could see mountains and water from afar. The kitchen was very easy to cook in and had everything we needed.

Great Location. Street a bit run down. LOTS of stairs
All in all very pleasant. Unfortunately, we booked on the understanding that there was a working drier (described in the ad) as well as a washing machine. We had been travelling for a month and were looking forward to getting laundry done conveniently. Not so. Hanging it inside was not satisfactory. It took two days to dry. Carrying a load of wet laundry up 5 flights of stairs to the terrace was a problem.

Great apartment in the centre of Vence
We had a great a week here. The apartment is right in the heart of Vence and close to many wonderful places to eat and drink in the town. Great bakeries in the morning within 2 minutes walk.
Vence is a small town and easy to walk around and within short drives of St Paul de Vence, Nice, Antibes, and the rest of the Riviera.
We stayed in late July / early August and overlapped with the Festival Nuits du Sud a Vence where there the centre square turns into a stage and a couple of good acts play each evening. If you enjoy music, I'd recommend aligning your visit with this. We also had great music in some of the little squares in Vence on the other evenings whilst having dinner.

The Location of the house is perfect.

Nice view from rooftop.
Two best things: location and rooftop terrace! Although the underground parking is in the center of town, it’s easy to find and very close to house. The rooftop terrace in mornings and evenings has a beautiful view.

Great location
Great location, great size. We appreciated wifi and large bedrooms. The furnishings, kitchen and bathrooms were comfortable, but somewhat dated. The cleaning fee was significantly more than anywhere else we've stayed.

Lovely French home in excellent location.
Enjoyed my time in Vence very much. Lovely town, good restaurants and shopping. Easy access to surrounding towns as well.
I would certainly recommend to others.

Great home in the old town
We really enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a nice kitchen and living area, along with a nice roof deck. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice property in a very good location.
We stayed in the house in Vence for one week in July. The house was clean and comfortable, nicely furnished and suited us fine. We were able to explore Vence as the house was situated right in the centre of the town, this said, it was a peaceful location as well so best of both worlds. The house does have a lot of stairs so I don't think it would be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Good property though, in a great area with plenty to do and see and a lovely French town to feel part of.

Wonderful week in Vence
My family enjoyed a wonderful week-long stay in this property. The town house is unique, conveniently located, very clean, and had everything we needed. We shopped for food at the nearby market, bakery, and grocery store, and enjoyed meals on the rooftop terrace. Melissa, the rental agent, did an excellent job of orienting us to the property and was lovely to work with. We are grateful to have found this property.

Pleasant, well appointed condo in Vence
We 2 couples enjoyed staying in this French country condon in Vence located in Province. The 4 flights of stairs kept us healthy and provided both togetherness and privacy. We would recommend both the great location and pleasant home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Phinn property in Vence. The property itself is an excellently restored townhouse style apartment in an old building. (Well, new compared to the old city across the street--built in the 1600s.) The manager, Melissa, was helpful and courteous. The apartment is located 100 meters from one of the gates to the old city, and the same distance from the central Place du Grand Jardin, which has an excellent fruit and vegetable store as well as farm stands offering local produce and cheeses almost every day. The most important bus stop in Vence--the end of routes to the city--is about 250 or 300 meters away. From there one can travel to Nice, Grass, or surrounding hill towns. It takes about 15 or 20 minutes for Uber drivers to arrive. Uber fares to nearby hill towns are reasonable, although not as reasonable as the E1.50 price on the buses. The apartment has two very nice, large bedrooms with bathroom attached or across the hall. One has a tub/shower, and the other a shower. Water pressure is so-so when having a hot shower. The place is ideal for four. The first floor salon can provide sleeping quarters for two more, but they must share the bathroom on the floor above. The flat is on four floors, with a salon and laundry room on the first or ground floor (counting American-style), with the bedrooms on floors two and three, and the well-appointed kitchen/sitting room on floor four. So one must be able to climb three flights (and take luggage up one or two). There is a great boulangerie around the corner and another across the street. There are a number of restaurants on the Place du Grand Jardin and around it. There are many others in town within walking distance. Grocery shopping is close by and excellent.Vence is a hill town completely different in vibe from Nice and the coast resorts. We spent a week there after two in Nice, thoroughly enjoying it, and still returning to Nice twice. The bus takes an hour. Two different ones depart at about 45 minute intervals. When we did not want to wait for return buses from nearby hill towns--harder to time the schedul--we took Ubers at between 9 and 12 euros. Likewise when we stayed out beyond the times of bus services, which end in the early evening. The longest wait was after a show in one town--about 20 minutes or 25 at 10:30. Altogether a great time.

Fantastic French house
We were greeted at the house by the local agent Melissa, who showed us round and made sure we had everything we needed, including a bottle of Rose, which was lovely. The house was perfect for us, and the roof terrace was the cherry on the top.
The stairs kept us fit all week, but there was everything we needed in the house to make for a lovely week.
The town of Vence is really lovely. The house is bang in the centre but in a little side street so it takes seconds to get to the old town, but you're tucked away.
We'd recommend Henry's Bar for your first coffee of the day and watching the world go by, and plenty of patisseries for the all important breakfast and we had a lovely meal in Le Pigeonnier on the last night, which made us wish we'd gone there sooner.
All in all a fantastic holiday and we're all still suffering from post Vence blues.

A beautiful house (LOTS of stairs) close to the cafes and open air pool
The house is stunning (huge beams and tasteful decor) and comfortable, though set over so many floors you need to be fit! The roof terrace is amazing; you can see the sea and hills and catch the breeze, pull out the awning or enjoy sunbathing in private.
Despite such proximity to the buzz of the town it's incredibly quiet and peaceful.
Everything we needed was supplied and easy to use.
I would absolutely recommend this property for families (possibly not toddlers because of the stairs), couples or friends sharing.

The perfect house for our family
Located down a wonderful narrow street, this house is the perfect base from which to explore Vence and surrounds. Our family of four loved the house, and all of its character - there are plenty of stairs to help work off the amazing pastries! We had no need of a car, with the bus and shops readily accessible.
This was a family holiday to remember.
