No pool and very high priced but nice

This was a frightening experience. I booked this hotel through Booking.com and paid for it in advance. When I arrived, my payment had not gone through at the property. The property staff told me that the hotel does not advertise on Booking.com -- rather, Booking.com has been advertising their property and the property has no control over that (a red flag because this is obviously not true), so it was my responsibility to figure out why Booking.com would not give the property the payment. I asked to contact a manager to see if they could give the staff help -- the staff refused, indicating that the property manager was not available (there would business cards on the counter with the property manager's contact information, mind you). To make a long story short, the matter was supposedly my problem and I was stranded on route 80 with no access to wifi. I had to push the staff to remedy every step of this process -- they were completely adamant that it was my problem. Ultimately, I was able to get staff to call Booking.com and to put the call on speaker phone. Staff entered my confirmation number, etc. The Booking.com agent asked staff what price they were charging me and that was the issue. The agent and the hotel had the same base price. However, the staff advised the Booking.com agent that there was a 13% hotel fee and Booking.com was at fault. The Booking.com agent did not miss a beat and said that the hotel manager needed to GO BACK INTO BOOKING.COM AND RE-ENTER THE CORRECT HOTEL TAX BECAUSE THEY HAD ENTERED THE WRONG HOTEL TAX, AND THAT IS WHY THE PAYMENT FOR THE CUSTOMER WOULD NOT GO THROUGH. Yes, the manager had advertised the hotel on Booking.com after all and had entered the WRONG INFORMATION, yet the staff at this hotel thought it was my fault, wouldn't let me contact a manager, and almost left me stranded on route 80 in Wyoming in the freezing cold. Bad hotel.
