the hotel closed so we were unable to stay here

We booked months ago for a weekend get away. I had corresponded with the hotel multiple times prior to our stay . when my husband and I arrived at the property there were bike chains on the door , the elevator shafts were open and you could tell there was no one there . We attempted to call the hotel and the number was disconnected . I was in shock , our hotel that was confirmed was vacant. So here we are in chicago for the first time trying to figure out what is going on . I cant believe booking nor holiday inn express could make a huge mistake like this . So disappointed .

The location is pretty good. You are minutes away from the Magnificent Mile and the Loop and their attractions. That's about the only thing I liked about this hotel. Breakfast is okay.

There were a whole lot of things that were not to my liking: - The room was very cramped. They had fit two double beds in a tiny room. There was hardly any room to move around. - The bathroom sink was kind of clogged and it took a few minutes for the water to get drained. - One of the elevators was out of service once we wanted to use it and there were in total 2 elevators. - Our room was out of body wash and shower gel when we got the room, so, we had to ask for more. That said, they brought them to us in a few minutes.
