The property is delightful, full of history, it provided everything for our much anticipated family holiday after previous postponed holidays! The house is well equipped. Our grandson particularly enjoyed the pool and the table tennis table. We really do need to practice more! The Boulanger is in the village was excellent. The Casino provided odds and ends. We all enjoyed visiting the war graves at Bayeux and the beach my dad landed on back in June 1944. Pam, our host was very helpful and welcoming. We appreciated the wine and cider chilling in the fridge on our arrival. Thank you

A wonderful stay at a beautiful old and authentic Normandy house surrounded by a huge garden where kids can play and the older can enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A nice, refreshing pool when the weather is warm. All made possible with true English hospitality, Pam helps you out with every question you have. The beach and lots of interesting or historical sights are just a short drive from the house, as well as towns and villages of interest to visit. The house is very complete and feels like being at home and more....definitely worth coming back to as it has all ingredients for a nice and relaxing holiday!

Great place for families
We had a lovely week in Pamela's house. The host is absolutely adorable and the house has everything needed. The garden is big and next to a cow field - which delighted my 1YO baby! Absolutely recommended!

A Great Respite From Urban Overload
Pamela couldn't have been more helpful or available, both before we arrived and afterward. The grounds are expansive, as is the interior of the house. Plenty of room inside 3 stories to relax and have time alone, if desired. Enjoyed the rustic charm of a farm home with all the dishes, silverware, dishwasher, washer and dryer, bicycles, towels and linens, etc. to accommodate us as grandparents and our son's family with two little boys. Didn't expect that the above ground pool would be used and enjoyed as much as it was by the 4 yr. old and 1 1/2 yr old. The closest village, Saint Clair-sur-l'Elle (a 3 minute drive and 10 minute bike trip with a small but adequate supermarket), has a patisserie that outshines all the others in the area and would have been worth the trip just for its bread alone. The lack of air-conditioning or fans was a concern for our August visit, but the stone walls moderated the temperature and nights cooled off sufficiently that it wasn't an issue. All in all, a wonderful time tasting the Normandy experience. Speaking of tasty, for an upscale wonderful meal in a lovely setting, go to La Ferme du Chateau in Agneaux.

Home away from home!
I just can’t say enough nice things about this property and Pamela. I brought my wife and two young boys to Normandy to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and Pamela welcomed us as if we were old friends or family. The home was warm and inviting and can accommodate a very large group even though we were only four. We actually only used the upstairs bedrooms and downstairs kitchen. While the home has a long colorful history it is completely up to date with all the amenities you could ask for and more. A short drive to the Normandy beaches and all of the major towns and sites. The surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful and everything you could hope for from a visit to Normandy.
Pam provided us with everything we needed including recommendations for restaurants inconveniences. We were even able to sit and talk with her in the front yard and share a bottle of wine. I highly recommend this property and would gladly return on a future visit. Thank you Pam!

We very much enjoyed our holiday in Pam's beautiful house
The house is set in peaceful rural Normandy close to the village of St Claire which has good everyday food shopping - and 3 hairdressers.
We enjoyed cycling through quiet lanes, trips to the beaches and visiting D-day museums.
The house is spacious and very well equipped; our grandchildren enjoyed the large garden, games and pool. It is an ideal setting for a large family gathering.
Pam was great - always welcoming and helpful and full of information.

Wonderful French Farmhouse
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Rocque. The area is rich with history and the house itself is amazing. We felt like we were living history while staying there. The kids enjoyed riding the bikes around the property and there was an old barn that was fun to explore. The property is close to many of the World War II sites of the Normandy invasion.
Bayeux and St. Lo are close. The whole area is quiet country, and absolutely amazing. We were so thrilled to be able to stay here.
Pamela is a wonderful host who made sure that our needs were met. She was not on site upon our arrival, but made sure that everything was taken care of.
Would love to do this again.

Comfortable, Spacious Home with Great Facilities
We stayed in this lovely, rural house for 2 weeks, a family group of 5 adults and 5 older children (age 11-15). It was very well equipped in all areas from the kitchen to the pool. The outdoor space was great for BBQ's or just enjoying the evening sunshine. Lots of family games for indoors and out, the pool especially popular with the younger ones.
There was plenty of space for us all in bedrooms and reception areas.
Pam could not have been more helpful, a great host. All in all, it made for a very relaxing summer holiday.

Super - perfect accommodation for us
3 generations of our family stayed together is a lovely location, welcomed warmly by Pam. A gem of a house with great facilities - we used the pool, table tennis, bikes.... and not far from historic sites and the beach too.

Impressive Property in rural Normandy
A fabulous old property which easily catered for our needs...and more! Set in the beautiful normandy countryside it was a pleasure to return to after visiting various museums and destinations. The description was 100% accurate and didn't disappoint. Would defiantly recommend this property for large families or a group.

The property was very spacious and exceeded my expectations. You would need to have use of a car to enable you to travel to the beaches(about 30mins travel) and about same distance to Bayeux but this was no problem. The swimming pool was better than I anticipated from the photo and my grandchildren enjoyed it very much. The adults enjoyed it too. Pam was very good and provided an excellent service. I would happily return there and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Another wonderful stay
In what has become an annual fixture, our south London cycling club weekend stay at this wonderful place is one of the highlights of our year. Clean, spacious & well-equipped are all the things you expect but Pam goes beyond being helpful every time. Again we enjoyed local food, made & delivered to our door - all arranged by Pam, and not something I imagine every visitor needs as the kitchen has everything you need, but with many hungry souls in need of rest & recovery, she makes it just a total & utter joy to be there.
We learn each year that the area is not only a useful base for a cycling racing weekend but its surrounded by great history - we easily reached the coast for the WW2 beaches & now make sure we visit a war memorial or other historical attraction on the way back to the ferry port. There is a huge amount in the area to see & do and the location perfect to reach either the beaches to the north or those to the west on the Atlantic Coast with its great sunsets and vistas.
With peace & quiet, cleanliness & space & all the charms you'd expect of an old French farmhouse (without having to travel far from Caen Ferry Port) this is a perfect place for a large group of people.
Highly highly recommended!

Wonderfully equipped family home
We were a family party of 10 ,5 adults and 5 children and this lovely farm house was ideally located walking distance from the village. There is lots of space both inside and out and there is everything you could need to have a relaxing stay. We used the bikes to cycle into the village, the table tennis was a big hit and we borrowed the beach stuff when we went to the beach. The kitchen is fantastically equipped. Pam couldn't have been more helpful either before, during or after. She helped us book various activities whilst we were there, found out about restaurants which were open before we arrived on a national holiday, and returned a couple of things we had left behind!! The area was really interesting and really easy to get to from Cherbourg.
The house was very comfortable a real home away from home and full of character. We would love to go back.

Lovely property - ideal for large family gathering
The property was very well maintained and equipped with everything you could ever need. The games room and pool were well used by children and adults alike. We enjoyed sitting out in the lovely garden on the sunny days and driving around the countryside to visit Bayeux, the beaches, Mont St Michel, Saint Lo etc. A particular highlight was the son-et-lumiere next to Bayeux cathedral on the Liberty Tree. Thank you to Pam for your welcome and help throughout our stay!

Well located farmhouse full of character
Stayed at La Rocque with family ranging from 7 months to 69. The owner Pam was very hospitable and helpful without being intrusive on our holiday, she even stayed up late to welcome us on our arrival even though we were very late! The accommodation was lovely and clean and kitchen was well stocked. The gardens were beautiful and plenty of toys available for the children, with space for them to run around safely, away from traffic. It is a quiet location and car required but within a short distance from local attractions, including Bayeaux and Normandy beaches. Pam can recommend some local restaurants and there is a very well stocked supermarket for its size only 5 minutes away. Would highly recommend a stay here to anyone.

Holiday made easy
From first contacting the owner, Pam, and right through to leaving at the end of the holiday, everything was made easy and pleasurable.
We booked this prpoerty as it provided all we wanted to have a family get together with family from the UK and USA. Plenty of rooms, plenty of space inside and out and plenty of things for the grandchildren - pool, table tennis and loads of indoor and outdoor games provided. This old farmhouse provided the charm and some quirkiness associated with an old french property.
Pam met us on arrival, gave a guided tour of the house and grounds as well as providing plenty of documented guides for the house equipment as well as areas of interest to see.
Unfortunatley, one of our cars broke down, but Pam helped us with the local garage who were not a main dealer. The garage was extremely helpfull and advised us to take it to the local dealer. Pam was great. She gave us a lot of her time with both of these garages. It is a shame that the RAC did not provide us with a similar level of help. The car was eventually returned to the UK 20 days after the break down.
Just a small note to families with young children, French restaurants don't normally open before 7 pm, So the only downside for me was I didn't get my moules frites!!!!
The nearest town, within walking distance had the most amasing boulangerie and boucherie,The diet went out the window!!
Great place, friendly and very helpul discreet owner. If I every manage to get my far flung family all together at the same time again, I would definately go back to La Rocque.
Well recommended.

Cycling Club Trip
Our Cycling Club stayed once again in this most beautiful cottage for the second year running. To say that 14 of us were looking forward to coming back was an understatement - the peace & quiet, all the facilities, the location just means it's so much better than any hotel.
As ever it was very clean, very well maintained with wonderful spacious bedrooms that we all slept superbly in. The kitchen & dining facilities coped easily with 14 hungry souls every day.
Pam couldn't do enough to make sure it was exactly as we expected - and once again she couldn't do enough to help us...even arranging catering for three nights - local French country cooking delivered & served for us!! This was enormously valuable for a group of 14 as, trying to book restaurants is very hard for a large group.
We travel all over Belgium, France & Italy with our cycling trips, but this is the best we can find...and Pam makes it special.
Can't recommend it highly enough!

A wonderful holiday location
We stayed at La Rocque this summer having enjoyed many previous holidays in France. It was fabulous and I can honestly say it is the best holiday location in France we have enjoyed in the last 12 years! Nothing is too much for the owner, Pam, who is helpfully on site. I would follow all her recommendations from cycling routes, beaches, cheese factories and wine choices. We will definitely return.

A Happy Family Holiday
When planning a holiday to suit four generations of a family there is always the risk that someone may not be happy; need not have worried because La rocque exceeded everyones expectations. The beautiful farmhouse made a wonderful base for seeing the sights that northern Normandy has to offer. There was ample space for our party of 13 and we never felt cramped either in the farmhouse or in the gardens. Pam was a fantastic host, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her, even before we arrived she was a great source of local knowledge.
The farmhouse had everything we could possibly need and more. There were ample towels and beach towels provided and more than enough crockery, glasses and cutlery. The pool was well-used as was the table tennis table, cricket and bikes that were all provided.
We visited the sites of the D-day landings in the 70th anniversary year. The main reason for our choice of Normandy was to take my mother-in-law to see the Bayeux tapestry as an 80th birthday treat-she wasn't disappointed.
Canoeing was also enjoyed by some members of the party.
In short, as a base for our family holiday, La Rocque was exceptional and we had a fantastic time. Thank you Pam
