it was a last minute booking and they had a room.

The staff was basically non existent. the person who checked us in was on a video screen. My room was not clean. The curtains were filthy, there was cracked tile in the bathroom, the furniture was in bad condition and the bed was as hard as a brick. The television did not work and the desk chair was taped together with duct tape. The room was so dirty our family didn’t even stay for the free breakfast we just wanted to get out of there.

Doors to access the building are locked and require a room key to unlock. It is conveniently located on the outside of the city, making it easy to find, yet is still close to downtown Gallup.

It is located quite close to train tracks, however, we did not hear a single train during the night, so it really isn't an issue.

Check-in was done remotely by people in India speaking from a central location. Very bad experience. Hotel claims to have free breakfast. Not true. They had only coffee and some cups w fruits. I would not recommend this hotel and I would not stay again at Days Inn-s in general because they all must have implemented the same procedures. The money paid was not worth it. Added after the comment of the property manager: I travel for business and vacation on a regular basis. I spent in 2022 about 50 nights in hotels. Your hotel was the one and only one that had this new "remote" check-in. I have been vaccinated, I do take measures to protect myself and others, and I do believe in natural antibodies to protect me. I do not believe in hotel chains taking this COVID as an opportunity to cut costs. And I hate companies that mislead people, so make it clear on your website that you have only remote check-in and explain what that is. Stop advertising free breakfast since you don't have breakfast at all.

We liked the friendly and efficient revelation we received from the staff. Very nice!

The hallway reeked of pungent cigarette smoke, though miraculously the non-smoking room we had was completely free of odor from the hallway. Also, "breakfast" was coffee and a granola bar. It should not have advertised as having breakfast for family travelers. Far below expectations in this area.
