I loved the Lighthouse Inn. It's like staying with family. It's not fancy or perfect, but it's clean, the rooms are big, and our bed was comfortable. It's a very welcoming place, and in a great location near the historic and fun Florence downtown. To boot, the breakfast included biscuits and gravy, with biscuits that were handmade from barley they ground. I highly recommend the Lighthouse Inn.

Great location!
Room was dirty. Shower had soap scum in dish, mold, soap pieces on floor, toilet was dirty behind seat, floor in bathroom was dirty. The lamps were dusty, there was ice on the carpet by the refrigerator when we arrived leaving the floor wet. The sheets on the bed were rough.

Very outdated room

Everything. Felt like a tiny apartment. My favorite area was the actual kitchen where they serve breakfast. It was like visiting friends.
There was nothing not to like.

The wood paneling in the main area was pretty. The location was excellent. Also the staff was very warm.
Almost everything needed to be fixed: The mattress and box spring were very old and squeaky,, the sheets were pilly, the floor was dirty, the deck was broken and very dangerous, there were pictures on the floor that had not ever been hung on the walls, the breakfast was atrocious, out our back window we could see all the discarded furniture and garbage on the ground.

I have submitted pictures and talked with customer service about this issue. They issued me $25. I think they should’ve issued me at least my refund or at least half of the refund the response was I should be looking at better properties next time. My response was this should not even be on your website. That is not my responsibility to make sure hotels are upholding their cleanliness. That is your responsibility as a third-party Booking company. I will never booked through your company again.

Was a quaint little suit that was very private clean and well cared for. Was in impeccable condition for being as old as it was! We loved our stay there
Other than being right next to the main road and no view of the ocean it was great.

Location

The location was perfect, especially for walking to Old Town. We had room 39 which is a double king suite with a separate outside entrance up the stairs to the deck/balcony or up the stairs inside. Area was exceptionally big, two separate sleeping areas, more than enough room for two couples or a family. Roku TV had Roku streaming service which is ideal. You can log into your account like Netflix and watch. Bathroom was large, plenty of counter space. There was even a huge walk in that looked to be converted to a playroom of sorts and even had board games. Both entrances into the room have deadbolts. Big table for dining, has a dorm fridge and microwave, no coffee pot. No elevator. Has dressers with drawers and a credenza of sorts for more storage if needed. Plenty of lighting and heaters if needed. Has a couch and two seating chairs. Bedding (sheets, pillows, cases and blanket) smelled clean and didn't appear stained. There are flat and poofy pillows. Mattresses are on platform frames and comfortable. Showerhead is just an attached handheld hose thing that you can use to rinse off and there's not a lot of water pressure but it does the job.The wifi is excellent. Outside of my other comments, I suggest wearing slippers/socks around the room and get to the provided breakfast EARLY. I would stay here again although I can't attest to the state of the other rooms as this one was all that was left at the time and was way too big for the two of us but was comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly enough but not really welcoming in the sense one is probably used to at traditional hotels/motels/inns. Efficient and informative though. If you are traveling with trailer, evaluate the parking first before pulling in, you may have to ask where to park as there might be an area at the back of the property to park in. Passenger vehicles are not a problem for parking.
The property is dated and could use a bit of a power wash and some paint. The room and furniture are very dated which is not a big deal but... the carpets need to be pulled and replaced with vinyl flooring as it seems to be a popular room for those traveling with pets. Just because it's an old property in a mostly humid and wet part of Oregon, carpets have a tendency to harbour smells and so the room had a 'pet' smell to it if you know what I mean. It is badly stained and would be easier to clean if it wasn't carpet. I stepped in pet kibble and dried pet food crumbs several times. One comforter needs a wash or replaced as it has the same 'smell'. The floor in the bathroom needs some repair by the toilet as there's a dramatic soft spot that also has some floor nails or something starting to poke through but at this point I don't believe it's an injury situation. The breakfast situation was confusing at best, maybe because we got there about 9ish and it's from 8-10. There was supposed to be waffles, biscuits and gravy, etc but there was literally nothing but a couple of biscuits left near the stove. When I say confusing, it's because it is a full size kitchen and not orderly as far as we could tell with regard to food, except for the accompaniment stuff by the coffee. Maybe it was really busy before we got there but when we did get in, there was only two people. The whole front desk area and back behind is in a state of disarray and extremely messy so if you're a neat freak, be aware.

Location! Very close to the Dunes Park. Hosts are exceptionally nice, warm, welcoming … the breakfast: homemade biscuits and gravy, waffles, juice, fruit was a homey, nice amenity.
carpet was stained and out of date. there was a storage freezer in our room … full of frozen apple juice and peas.

The folks working there were super friendly and helpful with giving directions about town. I loved the pet bird menagerie that resides there as well. The mattress was comfy and four pillows with different levels of firmness made choosing the right one easy. There was human hair floating on one of the two chairs in the room, so a more thorough vacuuming would be nice. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so plan accordingly, season-wise - especially on the sunny side of the building. Also, no screens on the windows, but I didn’t have any problem with insects entering when I opened them to cool/aerate the room. It’s an old, old building, so don’t expect too much for the price as far as structural updates and creature comforts go. But it’s just a hop and skip away from Old Town, so easy to leave the car in the parking lot and walk to the shops and restaurants that are close by. I’ll return again, just not during the hot days of summer, due to the lack of air conditioning.
No air conditioning.

The staff we friendly
The room is absolutely nothing like the photos they show you for the room you book. very misleading. Hasn’t been upgraded ever. we will not be staying here again.

Location. Everything is close. The restaurants are on the walking distance. The stuff was friendly and helpful. This is older motel but has everything you need. We had fridge in our room and complementary snacks waiting for us.
I would like if they provide two keys.

Hosts were great. Breakfast was fun. A heritage hotel in it’s truest form. We admire the hosts and their efforts to keep it all together. Not an easy task with a structure that “mature.” Very homey and relaxed with much of the original fixtures and furniture. Congrats to you!
