Well, at least the room didn't have bedbugs...
The exterior and lobby are still just as nice as ever. It's when you get to the hallways for the rooms that things take a steep slide down. I was shocked by how much the hotel has gone downhill since my last stay a few years ago. The hall doors, walls and rugs are so worn down and not maintained. The first room reeked of mold and there was visible dirt on top of the air conditioner. I had to go back to the lobby to ask for another room (the front desk person treated me as if I was a cockroach for asking).
The second room was on the second floor, and there is no elevator - difficult for this asthmatic 61 year old traveling solo to haul my bags up to the second floor. While the second room was not as moldy smelling, it was still not fresh. The air conditioner blew warm air despite the fact that it was set at the coldest temperature - 60 degrees. The room was just as shabby looking as the hallways - old rug, old comforter, scratches and scrapes on the furniture. The bed itself was ok, but the pillows and blanket were very thin. The only good things I can say are that the towels were surprisingly nice and there were no bedbugs.

The room was very quiet and easy to access.The Cleaning Staff was very helpful with clean towels and toilet tissue and hand towels.
Rooms should have microwave ovens,better coffee makers and toasters.

The beds were comfy and nice with relatively nice pillows
The walls of some of the rooms I stayed in were so dirty it was disgusting. The rooms also differed in quality greatly!!! As some very much less than sub par

Room was so smelly beds were too small they said its queen bed but im sure they were double bed only. No one cane to clean the room next day washroom was too bad overall please never think of staying here

There was only 2 pillows on our king bed, we asked the front desk for and extra and we were told they don’t have extra pillows to give out and offered us towels instead.

I’ve stayed here a few times in recent years. After this visit, however, I can tell you that, since under new ownership, this place has turned into a dump. The upholstered chair was covered in massive stains. The carpet felt so dirty, that I threw a sheet down on the floor to walk on! Although the ad said that breakfast was available (& included), there was none. There were no other employees on site, aside from the very nice (but harried) desk clerk/manager. There was no housekeeping staff (or anyone else) aside from the manager on the premises! He had to personally deliver requested towels/sheets to someone’s room, leaving his post @ the front desk!!
Guests are greatly overcharged!! I’ve stayed in a Motel 6 that was much cleaner than the East Norwich Inn!!

The room itself was comfortable and clean, though dated - somber soft goods and the hard case furniture was nicked and dinged.
The checkin and checkout was appalling. The guy was unkempt and kind of creepy. there was no one at the desk for 15 minutes in the morning - the guy went out for his own bagel and coffee at peak checkout time. AND the breakfast room on-site was closed - there was a crude sign saying “Closed for your convenience. There is a bagel place across the street”. All really subpar.

I appreciated the location of the property. It was close to my child’s school which made commutes easy. Check in / out was easy.
No elevators made carrying my bags a bit difficult. A fresh coat of paint on the room walls would make a world of difference. At first I thought the counter & bathroom looked dirty so I did a once over and it was CLEAN!! Very clean. The Inn is dated but I kinda liked that.
