Friendliness and cleanliness

There was free coffee. There was not free breakfast. The location is central to wonderful restaurants and backs up to a nice neighborhood with overnight fee parking. Shares a side of building with a grocery store, but was quiet overnight. Breakfast pastries looked good. I love Cheeseboard Collective next door. I will stay again. Nice microwave and mini fridge. Shower was modern and large. Spacious room that was well decorated. They’re doing the most with what they’ve got. Not a new Hyatt in Emeryville, so if that’s your heart’s desire, enjoy that. This hotel is perfect for my preferences.

The hotel was vacant, so a single female would be slightly safer on a higher floor. I was given 102.

Perfect location right on Shattuck ! Many great places to eat and visit by walking just a few steps. Gourmet Market next door, Safeway and CVS right up the street .We ate at Saul’s Deli twice ( and took pastries home ) and had an amazing dinner at LoCocos authentic Sicilian. The room was very well appointed and had a cute little private terrace. Top notch toiletries and bathrobes , bedding, iron, hairdryer… well thought out. Coffee shop served top notch cappuccino ( Sono Italiano) in cozy Bohemian atmosphere with History of modern art / impressionist theme. Worth the little extra cost to have the boutique experience; don’t hesitate or even think about staying down near the marina area just saying this is the better neighborhood.

No complaints totally met or exceeded our expectations; good job management and staff!

Electricity was off partially, took 2 days to fix. Room didn’t get cleaned one day. Room was smaller than advertised. Small balcony faced grocery store parking lot. Staff seemed a bit clueless, not very responsive as far as customer service.

Great location! Free cup of coffee each morning in the bistro on first floor. In the same block as Cheeseboard with amazing daily pizza and bakery - not to be missed! Delightful little balcony and microwave and refrig, even with plates and silverware. Very good bathroom and room was comfortable with plenty of space to put suitcases, hang up clothes and spread out for those of us who have been living out of a suitcase for a couple of weeks. This was our second stay here and I am sure there will be more. FYI parking was $8 in the parking lot right next door,

Location is very good, has every potential to be a charming little inn. The young lady who checked us in was quite lovely !

This is a place I did not wish to leave a bad review , however I feel the hotel was terribly mismanaged, we were there for 5 nights and the bed was made only once! Even when we use the make up room door hang. There was also workers changing the carpets in the corridor, not only were they noisy , that’s ok, they opened our room door without knocking, gave us a terrible fright! When we went to close the door and was told to keep it open! So if we weren’t there, how do we know how safe is this hotel !? All it would have taken was for management to leave us a note to say there will be work done in the corridor and workers may have to enter our rooms … we could have been prepared for that! Housekeeping also tried to enter the room at 9am without knocking, asked to come back later and never came back ! The place though clean just have a feeling of lack of care the wiring for the lights are a mess, they don’t stay on….
