Hieronder een opsomming van de problemen:
1. WC-bril: Deze was kapot en zorgt voor ongemak bij gebruik.
2. Stopcontactdozen: Er ontbraken diverse stopcontactdozen, wat niet alleen onhandig is maar ook potentieel gevaarlijk kan zijn (wij hebben kleine kinderen).
3. Gordijn in de slaapkamer: deze ontbrak volledig, wat zorgt voor gebrek aan privacy en comfort.
4. Lamp in de wc: Deze was kapot, waardoor er geen licht was in de wc, wat vooral 's avonds zeer onhandig is.
5. Nooduitgang deur: Deze deur ging niet open, wat een serieus veiligheidsrisico vormt in geval van nood.
6. Ramen: De ramen konden niet allemaal open, wat vooral met dit warme weer een groot probleem was zonder adequate ventilatie. Er was verder ook geen ventilator aanwezig.
7. Contact gehad met klantenservice verblijf van Smartflats. Foto’s ook via het account bijgevoegd. Echter na afloop van verblijf; was de toegang tot account klaar. Klantenservice heeft geen moeite gedaan om verder contact op te zoeken en de foto’s ben ik kwijt. Idem voor klantenservice van Booking.com; met het schrijven van deze review nog geen reactie gehad.

The location was great and the rooms were very spacious. Nice views
Cold!!! The radiators did not work and there was no thermostat in the flat (although stated so). We were freezing the whole time. We contacted the custumer service and they promiced to send a technician, whith they never did. I read here now that the guests before us had the exact same problem, apparently the heating has not been working in this flat for the whole winter! Custumer service pretended not to know about it and ofcourse did not fix it. We stayed in flat nr 201.

The location was excellent, its right in the centre of the city. Parking is close by, though careful which parking garage you use as there are big differences in rates.
The radiators did not work (there was no thermostat to be found) so it was only 13-14 degrees the entire time we stayed there. (Have the pictures to prove it) Called with customer service who were extremely unhelpful and nobody came to fix the radiators. They even got impatient with us for calling back to insist someone come fix the radiators and kept beating around the bush saying they “would be in touch as soon as they had an uldate”. They never got in touch and nobody came to help.
We stayed for three days and had to buy additional sweaters to keep warm. There were two electrical heaters but only one worked. The one that actually worked gave off very little heat so did not help either.
Furthermore, while the kitchen was clean the ceilings of both the shower and toilet had mold all over them. Thank goodness there was warm water, at the least!

Niet schoon, gehorig, alles heel minimaal, een bank die in elkaar stortte.
Ramen die spontaan open gingen omdat de sluiting stuk was, weinig plek voor kleding.
Bij aankomst werkte de code niet en werden we onaardig te woord gestaan door de medewerker van de klantenservice….

Location was good. It has room for 5-6 people, so its not expensive, per person.
No heating (below 10 deg celsius outside)!!! It was freezing. There’s not much apart from beds, nowhere to store your clothes. Bathroom doors can’t be locked. Windows cannot be opened.

Ruime, karakteristieke accomodatie met een zeer centrale ligging.
Onderhoud laat te wensen over. Ontbrekende lichtknop in de keuken, licht in afzuigkap werkte niet, douche heeft last van vochtprobleem (geen afzuiging).
Daarnaast is het jammer dat er bij zo’n karakteristiek pand gekozen is voor kunststof kozijnen die gammel zijn.
Tijdens ons verblijf werd er ‘s nachts aan de trambaan gewerkt. Tijdelijk probleem, maar het zorgde wel voor een slechtere nachtrust.
Al met al een leuk appartement, maar het heeft wat extra aandacht/onderhoud nodig om het naar een 8+ te tillen.

The location was very good and we loved the size of the rooms. They were so spacious. The linen was clean and fresh and the kitchen had all the mod cons: microwave, oven, hob, espresso machine, kettle. There was also an iron and ironing board; good for ironing the dresses we brought for the event we were attending nearby. A bread toaster in the kitchen would’ve enhanced the kitchen offerings.
Overall the flat was very good and met our expectations. However, we had some issues and I felt the customer services team were not very good at dealing with requests. Both our issues were not resolved during our stay, which was very disappointing for us and meant we had to take time and money to resolve them; distracting us from our holiday.
1. We were 4 adults - mother, father and 2 grown-up children (1 male, 1 female) so we planned for my daughter to use the sofa-bed in the living room and my son to use the double bed in the 2nd bedroom. There was a duvet, pillows and pillow cases in the linnen room, but no sheet and duvet cover. When I rang customer services they refused to provide the linnen and said we hadn’t booked for the sofa bed to be used. They then wanted to charge me an additional EUR35 for the linnen and for me to put my credit card details on an e-mail. I refused to do this as this is not safe. We bought some linnen in a nearby shop so my daughter could sleep on the sofa bed.
2. Also, the TV was missing an HDMI cable; to link it to the set-top box. We reported it, but got no reply. So, we bought an HDMI cable and tried to get the TV to work (we used the instruction booklet in the flat), but it was now asking for a 9-digit code or landline number. I rang customer services again and they asked me to send an image of the message to them. A handy-man did arrive on Saturday afree noon, but he didn’t have the code and he was not informed what the problem was. The issue was therefore not resolved, and we were unable to use the television facilities.

We had a fantastic stay at Smart flats in Antwerp. The property is beautiful with high ceilings, large windows and big rooms, with plenty of space for 6 people. It is smartly decorated with cool features, furniture and art and original wooden floors. It was extremely central and really easy to access with a lift and door code.
We loved Antwerp and this apartment!
A couple of things in the apartment were broken or neglected, and if they had been noticed and fixed it would have improved our stay, e.g. there were some exposed wires in the living room ceiling light and a couple of lamps were broken.
More annoyingly, the oven door was broken, meaning that to use the oven, we had to hold it closed at all times when using it! This was frustrating.
Other small things like having oven mitts and another tea towel and a bit more crockery and kitchen items would have been appreciated too.
But these are all easily fixed things in an otherwise great apartment!

Good location.
There was basically no heating at the property. The radiators were cold and there were 2 cheap electric heaters provided for a very large flat with high ceilings. Communication with the service providers to turn up the heating was met with no response. All in all it was incredibly frustrating as the flat itself was nice.

fantastic location, stylish and a good size.
we had a leak in the downstairs loo and it carried on for the 3 nights. they did not get it fixed while we were there and it spoilt it. this was not a new problem as a ceiling panel was already down and stained with water. the shower smelt of drains when I first used it and one of the sinks wasn’t draining properly. I also noticed that at least 2 fire alarms had been dismantle on the ceiling but not put right. the blinds were tied up with knots so you couldn’t use them under the curtains and when I investigated them, I could see that they were peeling and needed replacing. all in all the company were not maintaining the property properly and we suffered as a result. there was also no broom or brush to sweep the floor. I don’t really understand why they didn’t address the leak

We loved all the space and the apartment had a very nice feel. The location was excellent and on a tram route. Kitchen and bathroom were very up to date. Can recommend the bistro De Arme Duivel just down Schuttershofstaat - we ate there three times.
It was a shame that the lighting in all the rooms was not sufficient to read by. Only one of the light switches in the hall worked. There was a problem with the main light in one bedroom which we reported. The beds were really comfortable but the seating was not. Instruction manuals would have been appreciated. Because the hall floor is higher than the rooms there is a persistent trip hazard.

Only received codes to enter building and apartment last minute after booking.com intervention. Rather stressful having paid not knowing whether you would be able to gain access and also then still not be able to communicate with Smart Design.
Accommodation was great, but I will not book anything handled by Smart Design again

The appartment was great, except it didnt even have hand soap in any of the bathrooms. Additionally the smell of drain/blocked drain in the upstairs bathroom was very very disgusting and unpleasant

Location was excellent. In the centre of Antwerp with close distances to Zoo, etc. Excellent restaurants and terraces in the neighbourhood.
No proper reaction to 2 calls to the Smartflats line. Though promises were made, no extra bed linen was brought.
The wifi of the apartment didnt work. Wifi from the apartment below us worked but didnt reach the full apartment.
No television. Broken toilet ring when we arrived. Broken dustbin in the kitchen. Poor furniture in the living room

very skimpy with supplies like towels, bath mats, sheets (sofa bed had none) and kitchen tools. very difficult to cook anything with equipment supplied.

The apartment was beautiful and located in the heart of Antwerp. Easily walkable. The beds were quite comfortable.
The downstairs bathroom had a very overwhelming foul smell. Something was rotting or molding. No soap at the sinks for handwashing. Also missing basics like salt, pepper and cooking oil. The curtains in the first bedroom were broken so it was quite hard to open and close the blinds.

Online check in was a nightmare. Online tool didnt work properly, received incorrect access code to enter the apartment and accommodation is impossible to reach by telephone (unless you want to wait for 50 min)

Was a little nervous booking this, but the apartment was great. Large rooms, huge windows, central location. Everything was spotless, linens were fresh and clean. Plenty of space for 5 people. Walking distance to everything.
A little loud at night, but thats not the properties fault. Only real gripe is that the water heater for the shower only lasts 5 minutes.
