The building itself is quite charming.

The shower only produced cold water.

Lovely central location. Staff very helpful and friendly. We arrive late due to accidents on the road and were able to check in easily and still have a drink to relax after we had checked in.

Due to the age of the property the floorboards creaked a lot so very noisy every time there was a movement. Shower was unfortunately nothing more than an trickle and couldn't get heat to adjust properly.

The location was the only thing we liked !

The room was absolutely filthy , cobwebs and dust everywhere, the carpet had not been hoovered , the bathroom floor was filthy ! The windows were filthy inside and out , the windows hadn't been cleaned in years , there was cobwebs inside and outside of the windows and if you were to open them the pigeons would have been in ! There was black marks oily colour on curtains and nets , the nets and curtains were filthy , they had not been cleaned ! The mattress was yellow and stained , the furniture was old and marked ! The sink tap was loose and it was difficult to turn off ! The shower when correct temperature was set kept on going hot and cold whilst stood in it to extreme hot temperature! The wood next to bedroom cabinet next to window was all split , and behind cabinets was filthy ! When we first got to room we had to go downstairs to get them to put lights on ! The room , stairs and hotel stank ! There's no way we could possibly eat or drink in the hotel dining area due to smell ! Every time we touched anything in the room we felt dirty ! The electrics were poor with no plug sockets next to bed . The wardrobe was filthy , marks and threadbare chair .The cushion on the chair was filthy .Inside the ceiling lamps there was dirt marks ! The owners had not made any effort to clean or maintain the room or hotel and when we complained were oblivious to any issues we had and not interested .The health and safety should be making a visit to this disgusting hotel !

Bathroom had unclean lavatory, no toiletries and a used towel on the rail. Rang hotel direct after booking to reserve a ground floor room and received email confirmation, but no sign of request on arrival

Rooms need refurbishment and bathrooms. Breakfast was awful barely warm. The drinks and beverages at breakfast were barely warm. Had to ask for hot coffee and tea. Staff could be more polite

The location was amazing.

All of the 6 rooms booked were dirty, cobwebs & dusty, not hoovered, stained carpets, poor decor with wallpaper coming away from the walls and also stained. In 2 rooms, toilets would not flush, and rain poured through the ceiling in one of the bathrooms in another room. The pictures on the site were nothing like the actual rooms. literally put a dampener on the whole weekend for the family attending a wedding. The evening meal was not good, took ages to come out with only a choice of 3 mains. If we weren't tired from a long journey we would have sent it back. Did not want to risk eating breakfasts. Such a shame as the building is beautiful and a great location. Just very tired and run down, a lot of work is needed, wouldn't give it 3 stars.

Central location, clean room, bed was comfortable enough. I can't really expect better for the price I paid.

Central and convenient location with good access to the the town center and very near to where I am currently working. The member of staff who checked me in was friendly and the room was clean.

The inside of the building was really hot and keeping the windows open didn't really make any difference. A very tired interior, in desperate need of a make over and the shower was just a weak trickle.
