Staff could be more friendly. Low quality bath accessories, noisy floor, not so upkept front entrance. But apart from that... Place is worthy stay for solos ... Rear entrance is beautiful.

Near eateries & Concubine Lane. Staff pleasant & attentive. Newton was helpful & booked a grab car for me to the bus terminal for Cameron Highlands.

Traffic a bit disturbing for my night sleep although earplugs were provided.

De Cafe & Resthouse was the best hostel ever in Malaysia that I’ve ever stayed in!!! Owner, Dawson, & his staff, Kalik, Kahi, William & Newton - amazing!!! they were always there for you, whatever your needs & inquiries, and they are very accommodating & helpful!!! I miss them, the high quality services they provided, and the beautifully refurbished 100-yr old building!!! It is a very clean & spacious boutique hostel, with only a 10-bed female dorm & same with the male dorm, each in different floor! It’s cafe/bistro has the best & food & reasonably priced! I had different fares everyday I was there & everything was divine! It’s in Old Town, a 10-minute walk to/from train station (bus station is a 20-minute Grab Taxi), close to all the restaurants, the shopping district of Concubine St, a few minutes walk to the Art Trail Streets, mosque, Riverfront walk & cafe, and the old British Colonial building are ubiquitous all over, though, in dire need of repairs. Night market and New Town is only a 10-minute walk. Grab taxi is sooo convenient to go to all the out of the city attractions like Mirror Lake, Kek Look Tong cave temple which is far more beautiful than Batu Caves. Miss everything about De Cafe & Resthouse!!! Thanks a million for an amazingly wonderful stay, Dawson & staff, & for being such a caring person!!!! I miss you all!!!

Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff and excellent location, so close to all the popular eateries, heritage buildings and within walking distance to the railway station. Real good value for money.

Im Dorm war es sehr feucht & obwohl nicht viele Betten besetzt waren, war das Bad eher schmutzig. Müsste evtl. öfter gereinigt werden.

Darson und sein Team sind super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit! Es war alles sauber. Super feiner Kaffee Der Dorm war gross genug Gute Lage

L'accueil au top ! L'équipe est très sympa et très arrangeante pour les réservations. Ils donnent de bons conseils des choses à voir, resto... L'emplacement est super, à proximité des jolies rues d'Ipoh , des commerces, resto...

Le dortoir des filles donne sur une rue passante, si comme moi vous êtes sensible au bruit, ça peut être gênant. D'autres filles du dortoir n'ont pas été gênées.

Die betten waren sehr sauber, groß und gemütlich:) Außerdem hatten sie vorhänge und ein Moskitonetz oben. Die Duschen und Waschbecken waren ok sauber, das Café unten auch sehr schön. Der gastgeber war super freundlich und hilfsbereit!!

Die straße vor der Unterkunft kann nur überquert werden wenn man entweder sehr schnell oder lebensmüde ist (am besten beides)

Very clean and comfortable bed. First hostel I’ve been to that provide some toiletries for free (dental floss, ear plugs, cotton swabs). Nice location close to most attraction of Ipoh. Super warm hospitality, with lots of suggestions on where to go.

About the toilet door can't lock, need to fix the toilet door and bathroom is a bit small for me as a big guy 😅

The location is PERFECT! Also, the personal there is very kind and insightfull. Very safe place for women traveling alone as the staff is attentive to odd situations and will make sure with the girl (taking her aside) to see if she needs assistance or if she is ok.

i loved the concept and design.

The surroundings were nice to explore. Eateries were wonderful n the prices were reasonable. The people I met were kind n ready to direct my path to the right places. Overall , my impression of Ipoh is that her people are good natured n polite. The place is worth a visit. It brings back memories of a long gone era.

Centrally located with lots of small shops and cafe. The bunk beds are spacious and very much comfortable. Despite being in an old building, you don’t get bothered by it, rather quite the opposite as it is well maintained and has a charm to it. The host is very friendly and will make you feel like home.
